Hyperspace
Quetzalli sat in the cockpit of her BNG Y-Wing Patrol/Recon gunship as the swirling lights of hyperspace flashed by outside her canopy. @Mae Tecono flew to her right and just slightly behind her in her matching Y-Wing and the rest of their party @Rex WoIfbane @Kaarz Pollux and @Dax Rau along with Wolfbane's crew members, flew behind them in the Valkyrie, the pirate's VT-2000 freighter. The freighter would be much in a dogfight with it's less-than impressive speed, but it was decently armed and shielded for a standard off-the-line freighter. It was beneficial as well that all three ships sported class 2 hyperdrives. Meant that they could keep up with one another if things went south. If all of their equipment held up and the ground team didn't get completely outmatched in the upcoming firefight, they might just pull this job off after all.

Quetzalli flipped a switch on her console, opening up the comm line. "Now remember Mae, we're jumping in close to the planet's orbit. Be prepared to kill power as soon as we exit hyperspace. With any luck, their sensors won't be tuned well enough to pick up our hyperspace signatures and powered down we'll just be ghosts to them. We'll coast into orbit and see what we see. Keeping our fingers crossed the whole time of course. Rex, you'll drop the Valkyrie out of hyperspace behind Dosuun's moon to hide from detection, and we'll signal y'all with two bursts of static on this channel if the coast is clear. If we're discovered... Well it won't really matter then. We'll just signal you with kriff-loads of profanity. On the same channel of course." Quetzalli paused and smirked. "Mando, I know you're taking the lead on this op, but since you're riding shotgun for this portion, I assume you won't mind if a pilot takes care of the fine-tuning for this leg."

Suddenly, Quetzalli's R6 astromech, sitting in it's socket on her Y-Wing, started whistling loudly. "What? What do you mean you're receiving..." Quetzalli paused for a moment, studying the information coming in on her console screen. "Alright ladies and gentlemen, we've got a bit of an anomaly here. My R6 just picked up an automated distress beacon originating from a planetary body not far from our destination. Name of the planet seems to be Lipsec. According to Koda Station's records it is a small world at the end of the Lipsec Run. Lightly inhabited. Mostly rural. R6, see if you can clean that up a bit, would you?" After a brief moment of silence, Quetzalli spoke up again. "Looks like the ADB is a model commonly seen amongst settlers and small communities out here on the rim. This is definitely within our Imp's hunting grounds. Alright Mando, time to play your part as our brave and noble leader. Should we check this out? If it's a raiding party from Dosuun, and they come home in the middle of our surprise party, that could prove to be a very big thorn in our side. That being said, it could be nothing. Or it could be something very stupid." Quetzalli waited for Dax to speak up with his decision.

Dax was sitting in a passenger seat behind Rex's crew in the Valkyrie. This tub was his, as was the crew and though he oped to take the role of leader of the mission, he was not necessarily the leader of these men. With this understanding Dax did what alot of mandos do. He played with his gun. Cleaning the outside of the E11 with an old cloth. It passed the time and allowed him to focus on something while he waited for the recon ships to call in.

Quetzalli call in as expected. She was a little long winded for his approach, but seemed like an effective pilot. Dax was about to agree with her taking point, until she continued. A sound of panic in her tone. The sense of urgency put Dax back on edge, causing him to stand. Pushing between the pilot and co pilot's chair, as if being closer would put him in the seat with the woman on the other end of the comm.

He may have chosen the life of a mercenary, and more recently a pirate. But Dax Rau was a mando before anything else. "Quetzalli, adjust your ships. Close on the distress signal. Scan for all you can. We're jumping now for support." he replied into the comm, then looked to the mountain of a pirate. "Rex, ready for battle and make the jump."

"Rex ready for battle make the jump" the Mando ordered Rex.

Rex looked over at him out of the corner of his eye, annoyed that this guy was barking orders at him on his own ship. Rex then smiled to himself and looked over at Dax and said "In that case, you better get back there and man one of the turrets."

"You go with him and man the other, Kaarz. My only crewman left, Rork here, is a horrible shot."
Rex commanded the two men. He then looked at Rork, "Prepare her for hyperspace and jump, then get back to the power core and make sure we are operating at full power when we exit the jump" he commanded him. He would rather have his 1st officer, Taz, but Mae needed his best two gunners on her ship, he thought as he shifted his gaze back to the controls in front of him making the necessary adjustments and calculations for the jump.

Mae looked at her control panel. She was confused why she did not receive the same distress call as Quetzalli. Probably because her ship was the reconnaissance model and Mae's was not. Or she had a little more quality of a droid. Mae listened to the communication chatter between Dax and Quetzalli and after Dax had re-routed the mission to the distress call, Mae made the proper adjustments to her previous heading and waited for Quetzalli to make her jump to do the same.

Mae radioed back to her temporary crew "change if plan boys, we are jumping into a distress call with the raiders in possible conflict, so we may be jumping in hot, be ready with this guns."

As she waited for the final to jump she continued to go over the way she flew her ship and the way they should be looking with their guns. How she will go after her first target straight on normally and that both gunners should be looking forward to assist her ion cannons and rockets in head on attacks, especially on larger craft. She then went over her various maneuvers in which she said she normally banks and turns upwards so her dorsal gunner should be tracking the target she is chasing while her ventral gunner should be watching their backs and blind spots at that time. In the case that they are sepperated from their wingman, that both gunners should be looking to cover the rear before assisting with other threats. She then went over shields and how she will adjust them as she sees fit and if the main shields go offline, she will kick in the auxiliary shields to compensate and they should not panic.

After she was through with this brief description of battle procedure, she was signaled by Quetzelli that it was time to jump and Mae quickly followed her into hyperspace.

Sitting silently at the back of the pirate Wolfbane's ship, Kaarz fussed over his precious E-11. If a there were a competition amongst mercenaries for the cleanest weapon in the sector then he'd likely win first prize twice over. The sleek black killing machine was light in his hands, freshly loaded and surface-oiled. The barrel was free from heat-marks and any other blemishes that might scar any lesser merc's weapon, a fact that Kaarz felt gave him an edge against your common bounty hunter or hired thug.

Kaarz half-listened to the radio chatter as it tuned in and as both Rex and Dax responded to the sudden call to action. He heard his name being called, with the mention of a turret. Cracking his neck, Kaarz placed his E-11 on his now unoccupied seat and slowly made his way to the turret. Settling himself in the worn gunner seat he began charging the turret, letting the purr as it heated up run through him.

A small jolt of excitement coursed through Kaarz as action seemed to near. He methodically clenched and unclenched his hands around the turret's manual guiders in preparation. It could not be seen under his helmet but for a moment a thin smile passed over Kaarz's lips.
