Jedi marriage

If a character leaves the Jedi to get married, can they rejoin the Jedi later? Or would they be forever exiled?

As Jedi are not allowed pets, I doubt they could come back after breaking a Jedi law this major.

They can choose marriage or they can choose the Jedi, but not both.

But after the marriage fails or is dissolved? If the marriage no longer exist (the spouse is dead) would the jedi not consider that person again if they petitioned for their return?
I am just trying to think from the perspective of the jedi, wouldnt it prove their point to have a jedi come back saying "yes i was married and it did not end well, the jedi were right all the time"

It's been said before that once you leave the Jedi you cannot return. They're a lot more strict this time round methinks.

Well will just have to see what they say when approving the profile. It's for my character's parents, so not sure how major it will be. If it is, will change it. Not had any comments on it yet

If they left the Jedi once then what is stopping them from doing so again? The Jedi this TL are not very forgiving. They have Benn betrayed in the past, been at war with those who were once their brothers for a century now. If you leave them, you leave. No backsies.

Hmm okay... if a child was produced from the marriage, could the parents still surrender that child over to the Jedi without any issues?

Well...only if the affair was discovered :-P with her small drug abuse I think it's safe to say she is failing as a jedi XD

It's possible to return to Jedi, but not while married. It'd require a plot to return back to the Order. Nothing is impossible. You can be married in secret but face devastating consequences if discovered. They'd take any children coming to the order, but they'd be detached from the parents to take that influence away.

Thank you for clarifying. I have cleared up the issues in both profiles anyway. Hopefully there aren't any more issues. Just waiting for approval now. These are more character backstories, so not overly important. Just like making sure the Ts are crossed right.

Wasn't there also a thing where if the species was endangered of extinction the restriction on marriage and having children was lifted for the Jedi? I don't know if I am remembering this correctly but I thought Ki-Adi-Mundi had a few wives and kids while being a Master on the council.

I think this was under very special circumstances and had to first be approved by the Jedi Council. Ki-Adi-Mundi was allowed to marry and produce children because his species was in serious danger of extinction. I doubt that he formed very strong relationships with his wives though; it was strictly to save his race.
