DESCRIPTION
The JS-77B interstellar shuttle is a small passenger and cargo transport manufactured by the Subpro Corporation. One of the most basic forms of hyperspace-capable transportation available, the JS-77B is widely used as a mid-level executive transport by corporations and government agencies. Though it is cheap to operate and simple to maintain, its stock capabilities do not lend it much in the way of versatility, although it is a ready platform for all sorts of modifications.

The JS-77B is about as simple as space transport gets, essentially a box with sublight thrusters and a hyperdrive. It is flown by a crew of 2 plus 6 passengers, 25 tons of cargo and consumables for up to 1 month in space. Armament consists of a single dual laser turret, along with a defensive shield. The ship can reach 55 MGLT in realspace and boasts a class 1 hyperdrive, making it quite fast over interstellar distances.

Notably, the JS-77B does not possess its own navicomputer. Instead, the shuttle is intended to rely on an astrogation buffer, which can carry pre-calculated hyperspace jump vectors for up to 5 consecutive jumps on a fixed route. This limited capacity can be supplemented by an astromech droid, however, and many independent pilots will keep one aboard. Modding a JS-77B with a proper navicomputer is also popular.

LEGALITY
Legal. Shuttles such as the JS-77B are considered innocuous enough under most jurisdictions, and are not restricted in most systems.

INTENT
To create a fast civilian transport.
