Tiberius "Tiber" Mantell

A young sergeant with the Alderaan military, Tiber Mantell earned his stripes by skill, discipline and focus, and internal and external strength of character and body. He's seen some combat, but is still very inexperienced compared to many other veterans of the Alderaan military. However, he has impressed his superiors with his professionalism and his skill, and is pegged for a long and glorious career in the Alderaan Infantry Corps.

The son of an Alderaanian noble family, the Mantells, the fact that he joined the Army was a bit of a disappointment to his mother who wished him to become a politician rather than a simple soldier. His father, in turn, a military man, approved, but later became enraged when Tiber one day made it known and clear that he was planning to veer into the field of Special Operations; a relatively new, and very skeptically looked upon by traditional officers of the Alderaan military, field of operations.

After basic training and about a year of serving as an infantryman, Tiber began this path towards Special Operations by applying for and being accepted as part of his battalion's Reconnaissance Platoon, a unit tasked with providing hard intelligence from beyond the front lines to serve as basis for Battalion leadership's operational decisions on future battlefields.

In the Reconnaissance Platoon, or Rec/Platoon as it was known, he first served in the role of designated marksman, but after nine months, his squad leader retired from the Army. Mantell was chosen to replace him, despite his inexperience, because of his skill as a soldier, and his ability to lead in combat situations.

Five years after beginning his career in the Army, he was approached for recruitment by Rancor Company, a ragtag band of rangers and contract hunters who were to serve on the frontier to protect settlers and colonists, and further the interests of the Alderaanian government. Because of the lack of funding and official support from the regular military (whose leadership, again, looked with suspicion on these so-called "commandos" and their strange new ways of waging war) skilled soldiers were needed to help temper them into a ferocious fighting force capable of wreaking havoc when necessary.

Mantell was of interest to Rancor Company because not only had he in the Infantry undergone MOUT (Military Operations in Urban Terrain) training, but also training to conduct ship boarding operations, useful in the Company's first assignment, which was counter piracy operations. Mantell himself, sensing a chance to grow as a soldier and expand his catalogue of skillsets, accepted the assignment, and took a role as a sergeant within the infant Rancor Company.

Kal Fulbright enlisted with the Alderaan Army at age 16 with the permission of his parents. After basic training he was assigned to the Alderaan Infantry Corps where he served as a recoilless rifleman for two years. When the battalion's reconnaissance platoon opened up for applications, the ambitious young soldeir jumped at the chance, and applied to be one of the "Recces".

He was accepted for reconnaissance training, and was reassigned to one of the four reconnaissance squads that served as the eyes and the ears of the Battalion HQ. During his time with the platoon he participated in a weapons school for sniper training, which he passed with flying colors, and served as part of one of the platoon's sniper details. Throughout his four year career with the Reconnaissance Platoon, he also underwent training in closed communications and leadership training.

On his third year, his suad leader retired, and Kal was promoted to squad leader, a position that came with the rank of sergeant. His men, many of who were older than him, affectionately referred to him as "Easy Boss". They served together for three years more, conducting security and reconnaissance operations all over Alderaan, and saw some combat during this time.

Kal's career with the Reconnaissance Platoon ended when he was one day extended an offer to join a top secret off-world Alderaanian military group called Rancor Company. The unit was unique, supposed to conduct special operations off-world to further and protect not only the interests of Alderaan, but also its people, colonists and settlers alike. While no elite unit by far - it consisted mainly of huntsmen and scouts at the time, and needed professional soldiers to help develop the unit's capabilities - Kal saw an opportunity to develop his skills and grow as a soldier, and took the offered assignment.

Two months later, he found himself reassigned to a Rancor squad and off-world for the first time in his life, on counter piracy operations.

[ASSET SUMMARY]
Fulbright carries standard issue Alderaan Army equipment, with a camouflage uniform developed specifically for the Reconnaissance Platoons, a ballistic vest and a blaster rifle and pistol. He also carries the standard issue combat knife of the Alderaan Infantry Corps, a knife that can also be used as a bayonet attached to the barrel of a blaster rifle.

[TACTICAL SUMMARY]
Kal Fulbright is an inexperienced but professional and well trained soldier. He's undergone hand-to-hand combat training, MOUT, and weapons training. He is trained to fight in a squad and as part of one. Alone he is no super hero or elite commando, though certainly able to protect himself. His greatest strength as a soldeir is his willingness to learn.
