So the new novel, Master & Apprentice featuring Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon introduces a new crystal initially prophesized as the "Kyber thats not Kyber."
Mined from the moon of Pijal, Kohlen crystals are near identical to Kybet albeit a few minor differences. One major difference is the fact that it can repel Lightsaber strikes and other plasma-based strikes, thus bringing the prospect of a Light Shield. Moreover, if a Kohlen crystal is placed in a hilt, its orange beam can strike but its damage is inferior to a blade manifested from a kyber crystal and is pretty much non-lethal.
So my question is, with this book providing new canon material, are we able to use Kohlen crystals in our work? Perhaps to create a non lethal lightsaber or even a light shield for a sword and boars fighting style?
