A cool breeze swept through the autumn air, as a shades or oranges, reds, and yellows dance within the wind. The planet Tython, home to the ancient Jedi order of past. Jedi of legends were said to have walked these halls, Grand Master Wyck, Imani Sage and countless others. The sheer thought of traveling through the famous halls of the old academy was enough to make the history buff in the Jedi knight excited. This was his first trip and he had been entrusted with and thus he felt unprepared to go it alone. He'd have two student's a human male and a young tortuga. Luckily for the near human, two fellow teachers would be along for the hike and exploration of the unknown depths.

He watched as the group made their way down his rusting and ancient YT-1300, smiling as he bent down to examine a few fallen leaves. "Isn't it beautiful," he smiled, "I dreamed of coming here since I was brought into the order, and now we're here." He'd stand up, peering out towards the path through the forest and towards a set of distant mountains. "It's a bit of a walk, but we should enjoy it. They say that in the times of the ancient order, that young students would make a pilgrimage from the villages down in the valley and back to the temple, and now you two will do the same." He smiled towards the students.

"Reach out and tell me what you feel.." He'd say in a soft tone as he turned towards the two other knights, bowing his head with thanks. "I couldn't do this without you both."

OOC: The General idea of the thread is simple, we will make a few posts walking through the forest, feeling out with the force, discussing the nature of light and dark and how they are connected to everything. Life and death, possibly a small minor attack from an animal. We will then make our way to the outskirts of the temple, where we will go into detail about the fall of Tython, the dark nexus that ensued, and how it was redeemed at the end of last timeline, and I'll tie this into the core tenant of the new jedi code with Ben Solo's sacrifice and a concept on how no one is truly too far gone.

Although his species had advanced well into space technology, the Togrutan despised space travel. A wave of relief rushed through him as the group descended the ramp of the space craft. The cooler air of Tython was refreshing compared to Ajan Kloss. Upon his bare feet touching down on the soil, Zashtee could feel a connection of some sort.

"It is a Togrutan tradition to tread barefoot on the soil of a world. It grounds us, making us one with the planet. I can already tell this place is strong with the force."

Zashtee averted his gaze in the direction of the path, taking in all the view had to offer. The forest was coated in various colors, regretfully reminding him of home. Each variation of leaf brought on vivid reincarnations of Togruta lekku. The looming mountains just as looming as the societal pressures that consumed him. The Padawan had to shake his head to rid himself of the images.

Connecting with the Force was still something Zashtee struggled with. Closing his eyes helped in this instance, ushering in a very brief sense of peace. Zashtee couldn't sense much with the Force, but he could feel the presence of various life forms. They were faint, but they were there. This small accomplishment brought possibly the first smile he'd managed to form since joining the order. Although he was certain the planet itself was fueling his success, every step forward was treated as a victory to the young Jedi.

With wide beaming gaze, Zashtee looked upon Oren. "I can feel life. I feel the Force. It's in everything."

This had not been what Murtagh had been expecting when he had been invited to go on a trip with his fellow Jedi. Not that he was discontent with the location - indeed, it was an honor to be standing where the Jedi of old once stood. The very fabric of the area seemed to be steeped in an ancient power far greater than any of them. Though his fellow Knight told him to reach out, he'd been taking in hi surroundings since they'd landed, and barely needed to. Though the design of the Temple was ancient compared to its modern counterpart, it was clearly a Jedi Temple, and it was clearly well and beautifully built. Turning to the Knight who had addressed him, Murtagh replied.

"It's a pleasure, really. Last time I went anywhere I wound up mediating an argument between a salesman and a Jawa pirate? It was weird."

Before he even turned to introduce himself to Jedi around him, Murtagh's eyes scanned the field and areas around the Temple grounds. Though the foliage and nature of the area had come to reclaim the Temple, there where certain areas that were obviously constructed for specific purposes. The large, open area was likely a meditation center or training grounds. There was a large stone encloser adjacent to it, likely a forge of some sort. His eyes returned to the group as a Togrutan Jedi explained one of his people's traditions, looking ecstatic at being in the area. It felt almost as though the Temple itself recognized them, and welcomed the Jedi to their ancient home. Murtagh gently smiled. He understood the sentiment.

Since they were on official Jedi business, Murtagh had forgone his usual spacer wear and dawned the jet black tunic he usually wore as part of his Jedi uniform. There was no blaster or sword strapped to his belt, only the silver cylindrical form of his lightsaber, which clinked in tune with the breeze. Draping over the black tunic and his arms were the familiar and traditional brown Jedi cloak, no doubt a common sight to them by now. His right eye was, as usual, covered with the metal eyepatch he had come to grow used to. Raising his left hand as he spoke to wave, the Vahla set to introductions.

"Yes. You can feel the living Force everywhere around here. Well, since it seems we're all here - I assume I should introduce myself. After all, I'm not acquainted with most of you, which means you probably have no idea who I am. Murtagh Tempest's the name."

The planet Tython was rife with natural beauty. Everything he looked at seemed as if it had been plucked out of a colourful children’s book and for some reason the planet filled him with a sense of calm and hope, quite possibly it was because he was standing where it all began for the Jedi, at the start of his own journey with the Light. The young padawan couldn’t help but smile.

Daniel tried his best to follow Master Zapan’s task, doing as he had been taught by Master Bilcus. His mind was racing with thoughts and emotions, but he needed to shut off his mind to everything but the Force, and focus. Calm… Breathe… Daniel took the plunge within, while stretching outwards with his soul. Tython was seemingly teeming with life and the Force, the lifeblood of the galaxy, was bright and fluid in each, flowing from one to another and connecting everything. He inhaled sharply and reopened his eyes and, with a toothy grin, proclaimed ”You can see how everything is bound to one another by the force. No one living thing here isn’t radiating beauty on another level invisible to most others… wow.”. He chuckled happily at the end of his sentence.

Oren watched with some interest as Zashtee removed his shoes, nodding along at the mention of ancient traditions. It was an interesting premise, but one that he had very much believed in himself. "All around us, under our feet, in front of us, behind us, and inside of us it connects us." He'd say in a subtle ton, nodding towards Temptest as he began to lead the group down a small forested path that lead to the Jedi Academy.

"As Murtagh stated, this is the living force, it is the energy that powers and burns within all organic things. This aspect is only one of many portions that makes up the force. Just like in life, there is death. With shadow comes light, with stillness comes motion--the only constant is the Force."

He would trek along the trail, sliding over fallen trees and in between bramble and bush as they walked, "Do any of you know the particular history of this planet?" He'd ask with some curiosity towards the answers they'd provide.

The living force. It had been quite the topic since the young Togrutan had discovered it. His intrigue only intensified while taking in the other Jedi's depictions of the Force. Every new experience was drawing him in, reflected through his obsidian eyes.

Though they arrived together, Zashtee spent most of the journey to Tython feeling under the weather. Space travel was still new to him, making his stomach churn even at the thought of it. Seeing as Murtagh was introducing himself, Zashtee seen this as an opportunity to get acquainted as well. "Well met, Murtagh." Zashtee looked to the others as well, "You can call me Zashtee."

At Oren's notion, Zashtee descended along the trail, reaching out with the Force. Concentrating on the seemingly endless connections around them helped ease his mind. The sensation of the soil only strengthened that feeling. The foliage and twigs of fallen branches weren't the easiest to navigate, but Zashtee glided through them with relative ease.

Zashtee shook his head in response to the Jedi's question. "I've heard it was the home world of the Jedi of old. Beyond, that, I'm ignorant of this place."

Oren would peer back towards the others, noting that several of the Knights and students had begun to wander off on their own. He felt no stress about them looking into things themselves, there was only one way off this planet and they would all leave together. Zashtee and Oren found themselves alone, drifting through the pockets of the forests.

It was truly a sight to see, with the dancing of reds and oranges with each push of the wind. They found themselves within a large patch with trees on both sides. Leaves covered the ground below their feet, but there was no doubt that the earth here had been pressed down from years of travelling feet.

"You would be correct," the knight would say in a soft tone, "This was once home to thousands of Jedi, when the order was much bigger." His hands would fall behind his back, "There is certainly life here, the lightside rings through the core. But tell me, do you feel the darkness and the pain?" He'd raise a brow, "lingering in the shadow, a memory of something distant and in the past."

Zashtee hardly seemed to notice that he was now alone with Oren. The forests of Tython were truly something to behold. The blending of the Autumn colors were reminiscent of Shili's own unique palette. It was a strange thing, even so far away. Every where the young Togruta went, there seemed to be a burning reminder of things he wanted to put behind him.

One could only wonder of those Jedi, long gone. There was much for the padawan to learn, and it showed through the eagerness on his face. Once Oren finished speaking, the Togruta knelt down. He was not as adept in using the Force as his peers, so he required more concentration. With his eyes closed, Zashtee reached out, expanding his awareness. At first, all he felt was the same as before. Looking past the vibrant life of Tython was like trying to grasp for something in the dark. Then, it crept in like a whisper. It was a feeling Zashtee knew all too well.

Zashtee opened his eyes, looking up to the older Jedi. "There was much conflict here, at one time." He paused to give the subject more thought. "I also feel..." he trailed off. "Sadness." The padawan climbed back to his feet. "It seems as though the conflict came from within the Jedi."

Oren would take a seat against a stump, watching the boy as he felt out to the force. He could see the twitch in his face, the shaking of his fingers as he felt out, touching on the sadness that affected the planet, the lingering darkness. "Yes," he'd say in a soft tone, "Long ago the Jedi were said to have split, casting out their own brothers and sisters."

He'd peer towards the boy, "We all have darkness within us, you and I both have a shadow yes?" He'd pose to the boy, "You cannot have light without darkness, just as you can't have life without death. These are the natural parts of life, the will of the force." He'd cross his arms as he thought back to his own past, his own failures.

"Life is fluid, this planet was once light, but fell into darkness, but brought back to the peace it has today. I believe that we all struggle with this, this fluidity within ourselves, Ben Solo faced it too. I believe that we all make mistakes, we all feel emotions both happy and sad. But, our purpose is to find a way to let go of these emotions, to not let them consume our thoughts and drive our actions, simply to learn to live with the things we feel, to accept them as passing moments. In all honesty, I am still learning myself, this journey it's lifelong, one that is full of hardship, but tenderness." He'd smile.

Oren would watch the boy as he was lost in thought, the force was a subject that one could study for four lifetimes and still feel as raw and childlike as the first day. It was beautiful, it was scary, it was warm, and unease all wrapped in one. All their lives they have tried to make sense of everything around them. Science and facts as they called them and the thought of something that couldn't fully be explained was unnerving.

Oren trusted in the force, it was his ally, in the end all he needed was faith that it would lead him to where he needed to go. He would sigh softly, placing a hand on the boy's shoulder, "Come, let's return to the ship. Take time to process the things we talked about, your feelings and emotions you felt here." He would gently lead the boy away from the ruins of the old temple.
