"You know exactly what I mean. You killed a man on the last mission, and you came across a very powerful, somewhat idiotic Sith Lord. Don't tell me he didn't talk to you."

He folded his arms expectantly.

Adriana shuddered, she did not want this drug up.

"He is not a Sith Lord, he is Akegata. They are different"

She knew that was not the proper way to answer his question.

"He just tried to get me to join them"

"Sith Lord, Akegata, whatever, I couldn't give a damn about the name- they're far away from here." Santoro was obviously getting a little frustrated, and in turn the air turned just a bit more tense.

"What I am asking is what exactly was said. What he did, and why he wanted you, when theres an entire Jedi Temple full of younglings, perfect for the picking?"

"He said I had potential and that I had touched the Dark Side"

Adriana was telling truth now, however she did not want to listen to Santoro's replies.

Santoro rubbed his cheek, barely holding back a torrent of questions and comments. Rough. I should really shave. He smiled, and took a deep breath, releasing his frustration. It had never been his strong point.

"Alright."
He looked around the room, seemingly casual.

"You know, I'm not much of a teacher. I did meet some Jedi, a while back... They might be able to help you more than I can, and let's just say I don't have the best record at these things."

Adriana shook her head.

"I do not want to see any Jedi. I am fine how I am. Second in Command of the Midnight Men is just fine with me"

"When you could be so much more? Having the Force isn't just a position, Adriana, it's a lifestyle. When you think of me, what do you see? Chapter Leader Santoro, the Jedi of the group? If that's all, then you missed the point entirely."

Talk about overreacting.
Santoro threw this thought from his mind, and stood. You knew you'd fail at this before you even tried. Now, you've just confused her. Good job, Santoro. He looked to her, betraying none of his thoughts.

"Lets just forget this. The Force is less of a gift than it is a curse... And I wouldn't want to put it on you."
He walked past her, and grabbed his lightsaber on the way out. He held it tightly as he walked down the hall and towards the training room, thoughts flying through his head.

Adriana hated him so much. She fled from the room and caught up with him in the hallway.

"You know how much I hate you, right now?"

She looked down then back up with a half-smile on her face.

Santoro nodded, keeping up his fast pace.

"Yeah. It seems to be an epidemic, lately."
He turned the corner, and the training room came into sight.

"But here's the real question- Why'd you bother following?"

Adriana shrugged and turned him around to face her.

"I don't know. Are you mad at me?"

Santoro stood there for a long moment, staring at her. Finally he smiled, and shook his head.

"I'm not mad at you, and even if I was, I would get over it. To be honest, it did take me a long time to get there- I'd have kicked myself in the head if I was that flexible." He put an arm around her, and pulled her close, doing his best to comfort her.

"But you should know that no matter how long it takes, any circumstance... I'm on my way."
