Link words on status updates

As the title says, how do you get words on the status updates to link somewhere? Since I've seen Comrade Matt have words that link to somewhere here in the status update section, or new posts, whatever you call it, so yeah...how do I do that?

I was just trying to link to my interest check on a Droid Uprising faction, as I just need three more people to join the roster till I can send the full profile, and seeming as all the people so far that read it like the idea but can't join due to running out of character slots, I thought putting it out there might get be those three I'm missing.
