DESCRIPTION
The LK-7780 is a relatively low-cost speeder bike - also known as a "jumpspeeder" - produced by the Lerren-Kez Repulsorcraft Company. Though it is one of the company's more niche offerings, the LK-7780 is nevertheless a zippy, reliable model, well used by customers on many worlds. The LK-7780 "platform speeder" is exactly what the name suggests, little more than a hovering platform and a set of controls with room for the operator and perhaps a single passenger to stand behind them. Cargo capacity is standard for a speeder of this type, about 50 kilograms, arranged however the operator can make it fit on the platform with them.
The LK-7780 does have one standout feature, a droid interface socket; this allows any droid equipped with piloting capabilities and a standard computer probe to operate the speeder. As a result, the LK-7780 has carved out a niche with droid rental agencies, allowing a suitably equipped mechanical to deliver and return itself. The vehicle's platform also makes it suitable for non-humanoid droids, such as most astromechs.
Of course, LK-7780s are not only used by droids, and their basic design makes them exceedingly cheap to buy and maintain. Their design also makes them ideal for non-humanoid species who may not physically be able to ride on conventional speeder bikes.
