"So... how's this work, do I talk first or you?"

Kael leaned on the lackered pinewood bar. The bar he was in was a local favorite for the civilians of Dantooine. The town it resided in was home to blue-collar workers and was the only bar in a hundred miles that served Corellian whiskey. The Jedi signaled to the bartender and another whiskey came his way. He palmed a cigarette and brought it up to take a hit. He'd been stressed recently. The missions he'd been on were exactly what he'd thought they'd be: brutal. He'd just completed his latest mission. A crime lord on Nar Shadaa was suspected to be the key to a large-scale smuggling ring that was targeting the weakened former republic worlds. The crime lord had been dealt with, but it had turned bloody.

His blue eyes stared down into the amber liquid before him. His reflection staring back at him in sepia tones. Kael stared into his own eyes and his blue irises appeared burning gold. A shiver ran down his spine and he blinked looking away from his drink. He lifted his cup and attempted to drown his growing fears. Unfortunately, his demons seemed to amphibious. He took in a deep breath and let it out slowly.

He received a message a few months ago from Logan. He wanted to meet. Kael didn't. The younger Jedi still wasn't sure he was ready to forgive his former master, but then again here he was. Kael drained his glass and took a final puff on his cigarette then ground it out. He glanced at the chrono on the wall. The meeting time was a few minutes away. Logan would be on time. He was old school like that.

Kael had no idea what was going to happen in this meeting. He knew of Logan's appointment to the Jedi council, but that wouldn't warrant all this nuance. He scanned the bar and then shook his head. He hoped Logan would show up soon. He wanted to get this over with.
