Meant to be on par with most blaster platforms in terms of power, yet outclassing similar slugthrower systems. Capable of punching through quite a few barriers, types of armor, etc.

What makes this different from other, similar tech?

Extended range when compared to other slugthrowers, yet not overmuch. (Likely an additional 10-20m.)
Enhanced stopping power, capable of penetrating different barriers depending on ammunition used, and can use other ammunition types for different desired effects (incendiaries, AP, stun darts, etc.) which makes this weapon system more adaptable then conventional blasters/slugthrowers.
On par with most blaster weapon systems.
Sentimental weapon, passed down from mentor.

Hey! SInce you're new here, I thought i'd give you some help with this profile.

First, this seems fairly bare-bones for a tech profile. You should expand with an in-depth intent section. Why should you have this? What is the purpose of it? How will it affect the story? That stuff.

Second, this also seems like it would fall under Generic Tech. It's basically a ballistic weapon with slightly improved range and slightly improved power. As such, you may not need to submit it here, instead just outlining it on your character sheet. However, i'm not entirely sure about that, as ballistic weapons aren't ordinary in the universe.

Although perhaps there is something i missed. When i did a lot of research into them on wookieepedia back in the day, it didn't give me the impression they are meant to be crap. But rather, just a less popular choice.
