Avare' stood just outside of the entrance to the Academy. Behind him the sun was beginning to set, drawing the day out to dusk. A shadow was casted out several hundred feet before the light of the sun could clearly be seen. His newest Apprentice had much potential to be a great Sith. Though his long life as a Mercenary could've have corrupted him into a lone wolf, something that would not be dealt with too friendily during the training period...

Finally he was accepted; after 5 years of working in the mercenary groups to make himself stronger, five cruel, unforgiving years; he was ready. The soil crunched underneath his boots as he climbed up the hill, and his mind raced as to what to expect. His previous instructors were nothing like this one, they were predictable, and could not, would not kill him. This one on the other hand may.

Reaching the top he waited, thinking that it would be best for his new Master to make the first move, and not speak until spoken too.

Turning on his heel it dug into the dry dirt that seemed to lack any and all sense of life other than that of the dark energy of the Force radiating off it. Staring at the former merc Avare' nodded, this one brought silence, good. Approaching the man he paced around him for a few moments before stopping in front of him.

"What is it that has brought you here Cyrus? Why is it you wish to become a Sith..."

Cyrus straightened slightly as he noticed his new paster beginning to circle him, in what he could only assume was a small inspection. What he really hoped was that he wouldnt notice the disfigurement of his left leg, at least not notice it underneath his clothes.

"Sir, My father has groomed me since birth to be something great in life, the only difference is that his views of greatness and mine are completely different. I wish, Master, to understand what true power is, not the power money and fame purchases."

Avare' nodded at his answer, though there was something different about his answer, something almost as different as his leg. Ignoring the leg, for now he stared at his Apprentice, though the glare came at a price, it was as if he was staring through his Pupil, as if he had never been there. Though his words were to the man, almost dragging out what the Acolyte seemed to hide.

"Fame and money are in a way power, though not true power... not manipulation, not strength. Money and Fame can bring you such, though fear and manipulation is tools that can be bought, can be strucken down upon a group or person. I feel as if you wish to step out of the shadow, not just seek this power... you will gain this power. And your own shadow will be cast down you wont be hidden within that of your father's any longer..."

Taking a step closer to Cyrus he sent a knee into the man's off leg wanting to see why it appeared different, even under theclothes.

"What is it that happened here young Cyrus?"

Sorry for the long delay... I FINALLY have some free time...

Cyrus' knee instantly bucked from the blow, causing him too fall forward and land on his hands, relieving all of the weight from his leg. As with anything that happens to his withered leg, it started going into spasms, causing him to start gasping for breath.

Catching his breath and swallowing before standing upright again and facing his master, he straightened out his somewhat disheveled clothes from his collapse.

"This is the only gift that my mother gave me Master; she died right after my birth."

He looked him over, a great weakness in his new Apprentice, he would learn to hide it or be killed easily. Taking a step back Avare' almost shook his head in disgust, so promising until that moment.

"Learn to hide it my Apprentice or I will have it removed... there are cybernetic limbs that will easily solve that weakness. To reach power you must strengthen your greatest weakness."

Sending a Force push at the leg he had just knee'd he turned his back and began walking.

"That is your greatest weakness!"

"Master I have been getting the same treatment all my life for this weakness of mine; brushed aside because they deem me too be inferior." Cyrus said through clenched teeth as he once again stood up, favoring his good leg.

"The one thing they keep forgetting however is my willpower, and my determination to become better then them. True it may be my greatest weakness, but it is only a physical weakness like you said, easily removed if needed. Mentally it is my greatest strength, for without it I would not have the drive to succeed that I do now." His hands were clenched at his side, showing how determined he was to stay in the Sith for as long as possible. He had not done all he had just to be brushed aside at the last minute.

Avare' passed by this weakened man, he was strong mentally, this was true. Though his physical weakness is what would prevent him from being great. Shaking his head in a sense of disgust he stopped in front of Cyrus.

"To be great you must be both mind and body my Apprentice! To be true power both must be in sync... both must surpass expectations. Your willpower is indeed a strength, a true power! Though this leg of yours, it is a true weakness.. you could easily be destroyed... conquered should it be presented to the wrong enemy."

Pulling up the left sleeve of both his robe and cloak a cybernetic arm could be seen on Avare'. His once flesh arm had been replaced with that of steel, and he would not take it back.

"Our greatest weaknesses will not be seen by our enemies if we know how to hide them correctly.."
