PRIMARY EXPORT(S)

Crops/food

Marxist people work, not out of necessity, but because they enjoy it. Farmers spend their days doing what they love most, and this easygoing attitude toward work causes the planet to prosper more than usual. The people do not feel pressured into working, and this is a great stimulation for them to actually get things done.
Vehicles
Another export is vehicles, such as ships, and landspeeders. Marx produces them at a great rate, and its technological advancements mean that their products are not primitive, and keep up with the current fashion.

Entertainment/Art

Due to the lack of emphasis on working, the people of Marx generally turn to the arts as a past time, and a way to express themselves. The government does not regulate any art, and allows all sorts of propaganda, despite it being disrespectful. Holofilms are filmed all over the planet, and at least two or three films are released a day.

Technology

Despite its conservative beliefs, Marx is extremely technologically advanced. Droids do the jobs humans don't want to, and scientists are generally always studying and experimenting. Marx has exported new brands of smartphones, holodevices, and even new droids, along with old models that they are simply producing.

IMPORT(S)

Rare minerals
The planet of Marx is filled with rare minerals and gems, and although they are being mined, more is needed for such things as droids, luxury goods, and art materials, for those who prefer a more physical art experience.

The Migration

In the old days, when the Galaxy was still being populated, and humans had just learned to travel, they seeked to find new homes. They were searching for the ideal planet, one that was fruitful, large, and temperate. One such planet was Marx. Once the first group of colonists landed and began spreading throughout the planet, they sent word of a new home, perfect for them. More and more groups arrived, and soon, the planet was being populated fully in an act known as the Migration in history textbooks.

Here, the people set about making a government, once they realized that everyone was still getting their things together, hoping for an advantage against other planets. Small groups turned into tribes, and soon enough, the planet was populated by small packets of civilization. At first, they communicated when they first landed, but eventually lost touch.

The Age of Exploration

Once most of the groups had settled down, they felt that they needed more. More land, larger populations, more currency. They set out to explore the planet, and ran into each other almost every time. This lead to rivalries and friendships being formed, and the first war broke out, between a small number of groups. This war lasted for a few days, and ended because everyone had gotten tired of the battling. They resumed exploration, and grew larger. Trade began, and technological advancements were made. Meanwhile, languages were being formed, and governments built. Soon, the tribes had become countries, lead by different types of governments. The earliest form of writing in Marx were laws, and they give us insight to the way society worked back then. Different countries had different, contradicting laws, and the topic of currency was being debated. Everyone had a different kind of currency and did not want to change it, or cooperate with anyone else.

Meanwhile, Northerners, Southerners, Easterners, and Westerners bickered. Now that several generations had passed since the first colonization, they had adjusted to their surroundings. Northerners were used to the cold, harsh environments, and seemed to have a different, more hardened ideology, than the easygoing one of the Southerners, who were graced with temperate climates, which got warmer the lower you went. The Westerners felt that they were more educated than anyone else, and this caused tension between them and every other part of the planet. Easterners hated the Westerners, and believed that they were idiotic snobs. These ideologies clashed, and a war broke out, known as The First War.

The First War

The First War raged on for years. It was so long ago, however, that no estimate is accurate. Some say 10 years, others say 100. What we do know is that trade and advancements stopped almost altogether, and the planet was plunged into an economical depression. Due to the fact that trade had stopped, countries could not provide currency to the people, and the demand for it grew, until the government was handing out IOUs to everyone as a paycheck.

Some countries, however, had chosen to abstain from the war. They were a small handful, but believed that warring would be a waste of resources and burning bridges was not the way to deal with things. They formed the "Band of Unity," a peaceful organisation that focused on maintaining peace within their group. While everyone's economy was dismal, the Band of Unity prospered, and created new types of technology. Other countries attempted to ally with them to gain an advantage in the war, but they remained neutral until it was over. Despite the fact that the Band was scattered throughout the planet, they met regularly. Eventually, they combined and became one, powerful nation. They selected the largest country and moved to it, then sold the land that they previously resided on.

Rise of Salvador Viital

Once the war was over, the other countries were weak, and lacked the necessary resources to pick up their economy. A ruler came to power in the Band, which had become the name of the planet. Salvador Viital had been a brand new politician, and loved by the people for his peaceful, easygoing nature. He promised rights for every alien, or gender, and he swore to fix the economy. He was voted to power, with a vote of 94% of the population for him.

The Rule of Salcador Viital

Once, Viital came to power, he shed his skin and showed his true self. He took advantage of the other countries' weakness and took over, spreading the Band throughout the planet, until he was the leader of Marx, called Strax at the time.

He reformed everything, and set about new laws, that monitored everyone, and restricted propaganda, along with expression. Cameras populated city blocks, and everyone was required to have a portrait of him inside of their home. Punishments for felons were harsh, and the justice system was corrupted by judges Viital had appointed. They were sadistic and took great pleasure in handing out verdicts, usually capital punishment, or a life of torture.

A Revolution

The people were clearly not liking Viital's rule, and he seemed to have no intention of stepping down. He had a small group of followers, who were very eager to act as his security. He was protected at all times, and several assassination attempts ended in failures, the culprits killed. A revolutionary philosopher became popular, named Lemarx Flame. He spoke for the people, and did not shy away from making his opinion known. Hackers that were with his cause helped him hack into government feeds and rile up the people through his masterful use of words. Viital was outraged, but there was nothing for him to do, as Flame was untraceable.

The population revolted against Viital, the entire planet united together against him. He was sought out and murdered, his execution broadcasted for everyone to see. Flame finally stepped out of the shadows, but denied presidency. He became an advisor to the president, and remained one until his death, which was natural.

The Post-Viital Era

Now that Viital was dead, and a fair new ruler was in power, the planet prospered once again. Trade resumed, and extended to other planets. The economy boomed, although some provinces remained in crippling poverty. Human and alien rights advocates worked directly with the president to make the planet a more fair place for everyone.

The poor provinces remained bitter about their financial status, and turned to religion as a means of coping. The planet was, for the most part, atheist, but a new religion was made: Frism. Frists believed in a single god, who they believed was responsible for their creation, but not the rest of the Galaxy's. They believed they were the chosen ones, and argued with other atheist provinces. The nation began dissolving, and provinces slowly turned back into countries. Another war broke out, over religion. It started when an atheist civilian was taken to the Temple of Providence and executed, for no other reason than his religion.

This war lasted for about 10 years, and once again, the planet was weak. They banded decided to once again band together, but the economy was now dismal. Scratching their heads, the government thought of possible solutions, and decided to dissipate.

Without a government, the people took it upon themselves to vote for important decisions, and organisations took care of interplanetary trade.

Modern Times

Now that Marx is at peace, the people are much happier. Technological advancements were made, and droids were manufactured greatly, until there were too many. The people decided to employ them as workers, and currency within the planet was abolished. People did not get paid to work, and they did not have to pay to purchase things, but they still had jobs, chosen by themselves. If someone wanted to become a doctor, all they'd have to do is go to school and graduate. They were not paid for their services, and they did not require money.

Marx joined the Galactic Republic recently, and a representative is still being chosen, to voice out the people's opinions.

Government

On Marx (also known as The Socialist Union of the People of Marx (SUPM)), there is no government. The people rule, and if one wishes to vote on important matters, they can do so online. They will elect a Senator to represent them in the Senate, but he or she will not rule over the country.

There are locations in every city where one can vote about things, such as new roads, new trade opportunities and other things that the government would normally decide.

Culture

People on Marx have different beliefs and cultures. Some maintain Frist beliefs, but that is a small minority. Art flourishes, and along with holofilms, is the main way people express themselves. Nothing is forbidden, other than things such as murder, and theft is nonexistent, due to the absence of currency.

Some provinces on Marx dress modestly, while others dress extravagantly, in flashing colous. Some provinces are futuristic and are populated by droids, while others, maintain conservative beliefs and scarcely use advanced technology. One thing everyone agrees on, however is the current choice of government, which will probably not change.

Technology

Marx is very technologically advanced, and is booming when it comes to robo science. They are responsible for the creation of many different types and brands of droids, smartphones, holodevices, and many other types of tech.
Geography of Marx

The Southern Continent

The Southern Continent is in the South, and slightly more technologically-reliant than other continents.

Berlyn

Berlyn is the capital city of Marx, although that doesn't change anything. It was chosen as a capital due to the amount of tourists it attracted, perhaps due to its steampunk feel, or interesting architecture. This city is quite populated, and home to Marx's first, but not last, airport.

Beij

1280x800_10133_DONTNOD_Adrift_concept_art_03_2d_sci_fi_street_adrift_paris_future_city_futuristic_picture_image_digital_art.jpg

Beij is very urban, and more of a hub for those who live on Marx. It is also visited by criminals quite often, but they don't commit any crime, because they can't, except for murder. Security on Marx is rather secure though, so they are caught by police droids immediately. They are then taken to trial, where a jury votes on whether or not they should be convicted and how they should be punished, although capital punishment is nonexistent.
Intent

Marx is intended to provide new roleplaying opportunities and a strange new government into the Star Wars universe, for roleplayers to explore.

I like scifi and all but most of this sounds like sci-phantasy to me. Awfully utopian.

Besides the fact that you mention it doesn't have a government and then later say that there is a very secure police force, it doesn't really feel "in the spirit of Star Wars".

The police force consists of humans, but mostly droids. All they do is catch the criminals, who are then subjected to a trial. There is no judge, only a jury that consists of the people.

Can you tell me why this planet needs to exist? Aside from it's culture, which seems more than an in-house joke, I don't see why this has to exist. There are dozens of agricultural worlds out there. Lothal and Dantooine, to just mention two off the top of my head. Alderaan probably does alot of farming.

Clayton and I are extremely strict when it comes to approving planets, especially fanon planets. So you really have to sell us on why this needs to be a thing, when you can have a socialist community on either Dantooine or Lothal without any stretch of the imagination.

Lothal and Dantooine are both really nice, socialist agricultural communities, but the reason I'm introducing this planet is to impact the Star Wars universe by throwing in a planet that's 100000% socialist. I'm planning on making a faction around this planet or at least a Senator for it, so that it impacts the galaxy.

I'll be honest, it feels more like a blatant stereotypical joke rather than a well-thought out socialist community.

I echo this. And as I find your intent lacking, as you could turn any canon agri-world into a socialist movement this planet is...
