Slipping through the crowds of the Bar, Zina passed a group of humans dressed in armor. While it wasn't that abnormal to find humans or other species dressed in armor meant for fighting in the Citadel, for them to be secluded among themselves, well armed and obviously dangerous? Something stuck out in her mind. Her hand brushed against her pistol, staring at them for a moment as she sat down at the bar.

She decided to ignore it, if at least for the moment. Her eyes quickly went to the holograms of the Asari dancers. It was always Asari, never humans, quarians, krogan, or turians. For some reason, the Asari seemed to be the most widely accepted species as the most attractive. Perhaps it was their odd mix of traits that could be seen in every one of the other species, or maybe it was just something else; a pheromone they gave off, some natural biotic ability that attracted the other species, something that would explain their unnatural attractive bodies.

Then, as she pondered on the subject, gunfire filled the air. Red hot plasma burst through the air, before slamming into the chest of an unlucky elderly Turian. He collapsed to the ground as screams and gasps replaced the music as someone turned the sound off. Then, a loud voice, a human voice, filled the air.

"Listen up! By the authority of the AAC, this bar is now under direct control of our military. Until the Turians give us what we want, you are all our bargaining tokens. You will be shot if you do not cooperate, you will be executed if you resist. In the name of the AAC, the humans will rise!"

Zina practically spat, standing up from her seat as others ducked down. She was sure she wasn't the only one who was going to allow herself to get bullied by this rising race. They had already had one war with the Turians, and now this group was pushing for a second? Unbelievable.

Optus was just knocking off a long and tedious shift in the C-Sec offices. It had been an unusually quiet day, a rarity on the Citadel so he thought he’d use the time he had to catch up on some paper work he’d been putting off… Oh how he did hate paper work.
Look at me sat behind a desk filling in forms, and here I promised myself I would never end up at a desk job, he thought to himself. C-Sec wasn’t all this though, Optus spent most of his time as a detective on the wards of the Citadel he was a common site around here even some humans had started to recognise him from all the other Turians, now that’s something. Although they had a little help since his intricate clan markings were Red unlike the usual white the Turians sport.
Optus had just finished up clearing near a quarter of his pile of paper work when a voice came over the C-Sec channels on his Omni tool.
“All nearby officers, calling all nearby officers, we have reports of a hostile human group occupying Purgatory bar. The group have taken hostages and fired warning shots, exercise extreme caution.”

Optus closed his eyes and rubbed his forehead. He was tired but he could not ignore this call, after all he lived for situations like this and shamefully there had been many of recent years. The tensions run high between Turians and Humans on the Citadel what with the first contact war and their prescience on the Citadel only helped spur on the hate groups. If Optus could stop these things becoming bloody he could call that a victory.
He stood up and stretched out his legs, being sat down all day he had not realised how stiff he was. I am too old for gun slinging the galaxy but I am far too young to feel like this, he thought. He made his way over to his locker equipped his gear and jumped into the nearest C-Sec shuttle. The door closed with a hydraulic hissing and the engines fired into life, activating the sirens he pushed forwards as hard as he could on the control stick and the shuttle car zoomed off into the distance leaving behind the trailing sound of the sirens and the metallic whoosh of the engine.
He tuned his Omni tool into the local channels and in his deep metallic tone he called out, “Optus Tiberium reporting, I am on my way to the disturbance as we speak, I will be there shortly.”

Dylan was currently off duty, but didn't mean he didn't bring his pistol with him. The man had heard about it and thought that heck because his psychologist told him that drinking won't help so the soldier thought that drinking was what he really needed. Honestly Dylan just wanted to forget the faces of the soldiers that died some 5 years ago, they just never truly seem to leave him. Though there are times when he thinks that things are getting better, but sadly Dylan didn't get to stay like that and eventually the nightmares return.

Dressed in his alliance uniform Dylan didn't want to attract to much attention but also didn't really have any cloths that would work for a more causal look. So with the pistol in his holster and a few credits to supply the beverages he felt that today might be a bit better than usual, considering he could get drunk and not be going to work tomorrow or the day after that. Which honestly worked for the soldier ever well. He didn't tell anyone about his little drinking night so there really shouldn't be any alliance soldiers there though with the humans trying to get used to the whole aliens thing there might be a few soldiers there.

So when Dylan walked in and found a group of humans all armed and ready for an assault he began to worry. Was the war about to start again, why was this happening again, sure he wouldn't mind another dead Turians but he would hate for people to be caught in the cross fire. He knew this was not a good place for violence, and if it did go to that, than he was going to have to stop them. Trying not to draw there attention he sat down at a table where no one was at, and looked around for someone to get him a drink.

Of course that went out the window as soon as the gun shot rang out to meet his ears, it seemed his worse fear of being dragged into another hopeless situation had become reality. So as soon as his advancement allowed, he had tipped over the table to make as a make shift shield protecting him from any additional gun fire. His hand twitched to grab the pistol, but he manage to calm himself and remembered having a shot out here might her some humans or others. Taking the moment to calm himself before speaking.

"Come now fellas this isn't the right place for this. If a shot out take place man other humans can be hurt or killed."
Dylan could hope that his attempt to reason with them, didn't make things worse.

Maka had come to purgatory for a simple drink. That was all she had wanted, a drink which she could have to unwind from one of her jobs, and to spend a bit of the cash she'd made after meeting her client in the presidium. She was dressed simply, a jacket and pants, with a sleeveless shirt, civilian clothing so she could try and relax.

She was enjoying the asari holograms, loosing herself to the music as she sat with her drink in hand, she was actually beginning to relax in this horribly cramped and industrial place when the sounds of shouting and gunfire broke her calm. The asari heard the music cut out, and a human shouting, or at least she assumed it was a human given what he was saying.

She sat at her bar stool, sliding her drink away from herself as she clenched her fists. Maka looked to her omnitool, then down to her waist where one of her pistols stayed on her hip. Not much weapons, but it would at least provide her with something to use. Maka took a moment to think before she jumped over the bars counter, tucking under it as she drew her pistol.

"These humans really need to learn their place..." Maka said with a disgruntled sigh. She'd wait for an opening and strike, knowing that if she popped up now and tried to take them out, the others would be able to make shredded sushi out of her.

Adjusting from a life of war and violence to a life of relative peace on the Citadel takes some getting used to, double if you're a Krogan who was bread for the singular purpose of bashing other being's skulls in. The Citadel was an odd place, full of multicultural cooperation but at the same time still harboring pockets of xenophobic bitterness

More so now since the humans arrived.

Gurak snapped out of his trance when the Asari barmaid returned with a glass of green Batarian ale. He sighed as he downed the drink before paying and pulled himself up to his feet. Violence and alcohol usually didn't mix but when a team of heavily armed and armored humans entered the bar and started shooting in the air. At first Gurak thought it was a poorly thought out robbery until what appeared to be the leader started shouting about Turians.

Gurak swiftly walked over to the leader, easily towering over the group as another heavily scared human attempted to talk the group down. "Listen to him human, this isn't the place to start trouble." Gurak deadpanned gruffly as he cracked his knuckles.

Optus would be met with a sight no C-Sec officer wishes to find. A large number of soldiers had set up a blockade at the bar, many of the soldiers pointing their guns as warnings at the already present C-Sec officers, with many more hiding behind their blockades. They could see the commotion in the background through open doors.

Through the doors, they could see what appeared to be a dead body on the ground of a Turian. Who he was, or why he was shot was still unknown. Whatever was being said was inaudible by those on the outside. Still, the soldiers who stood between them had a strange insignia's on their chests and shoulderpads. Underneath the insignia was the letters "AAC."

------

On the inside, things were looking bad for those daring to stand up against the human extremists. The Krogan had made the action of approaching the group of armed soldiers, which was met by the sounds of guns being readied, aimed at him in masses.

"Back down alien! You will not be warned again!" The leader instructed, pointing his heavy rifle at the Krogan. They were hesitating, if only for the moment. The human who dared to speak up was being ignored, seen as someone who wasn't a threat, nor someone of importance.

Zina frowned, pistol in hand as she slipped under the counter's door. As she did so, she was met with the sight of an Asari, dressed in standard clothes, who apparently had the same idea for protection that she had. "...Hey! You trying to fight back?" She whispered, still crouched down, hidden by the counter as she slowly inched closer.

Gurak scoffed at the lead humans demand that he submit as a few of his comrades started to shake. "Listen you Pyjack, we can do this the easy way or the hard way." Gurak said as he grabbed the barrel of the human's gun and swiftly pulled down in an attempt to wrench the gun out of his hands before slamming his boney head fringe down on the human's face; he then put the human in a one armed headlock before drawing his Spike Thrower and charged the weapon. "We are currently doing this the easy way, I recommend leaving." He stated, leveling his flechette spewing weapon at the group.

Maka looked to the quarian who'd come behind the counter as well, spotting her pistol and analyzing the situation quickly. She nodded her head, turning her attention back towards the unfolding scene, hearing the raised voices.

"Need to wait for a good opening."
She said simply, knowing she'd need to pick her moment unless she wanted to shot. Hearing the scuffle, the asari decided that this might make as good a distraction, and popped out with a flash of her biotic aura. She sent out a cryo blast with her omnitool, and from the other hand, she fired off a biotic warp, aiming the two for two different targets as she ducked back behind the bar, activating her tech armor as she looked herself over.

"Not hit yet. Hopefully I keep it up." She said out loud, hoping that didn't count as a jinx.

Dylan couldn't believe his ears did these stupid aliens really think they can fight off, about 15 humans all pointing their guns on to them. Why did he have to be here, this was ridiculous why were these aliens suicidal. Sure these humans might be crazy but in the end they did have a good cause, the Turians weren't even paying what they were owed. Even when the council told them to pay them after the war was over, which really just put salt on so many human's wounds. It even affected Dylan but he knew better than to actually take action, but he couldn't blame other humans who lost friends and family over the Turian's attack.

They had every reason to be upset, and if Dylan knew what would happen to him, he might have joined them. But now it seemed these aliens wanted just to kill humans and others. Really were these guys stupid, if they started a fire fight several innocent people could be killed really he needed to do something if he wanted to save lives.

It was between helping aliens killing humans, or to disarming the aliens to keep the humans from killing everyone. There was no guarantee that these aliens would win, as they were clearly outnumber. But surprise was kind of on their side, but what could he really do, if he shot at the humans they could just start killing everyone. So he needed to do something or people are going to start dying.

Of course that was when someone started to attack the humans, so now he was forced to act now.

He looked over the cover and began to fire on the humans, it would only be 3 shots, aimed at the humans near the Krogan. They are going to need someone to tank the hits to make sure other people weren't kill. Though once this was over he planned on shooting that Asari for risking the lives of everyone in the restaurant.

Optus deactivated the sirens as he approached the landing pad to the club, he surveyed the scene below as he activated the auto docking. He saw blockades and heavily armed humans blocking the entrance to the club. A few C-Sec officers had already arrived at the scene and had begun setting up their own blockade and cover.

As his shuttle landed and the doors released he immediately jumped out and strode over to the other C-Sec officers shouting commands as he did so.
“Who was first on the scene here, who is control of this situation, YOU get behind some cover or did you fail to notice the armed force pointing guns at us?” When it came to his Job Optus was unforgiving, he will not accept mistakes and although he may seem hard or harsh on his fellow officers it is only because their safety is paramount. As a senior detective he outranked the enforcement officers on the field but not the special response unit who he could see were the one’s organising their own blockade. Optus was impressed by the speed and precision of how things had been handled so far. Already the citizens had been cleared, the club had been cordoned off within a two mile radius and from what he could see on the way in, the residents who lived nearby were already being temporarily evacuated. And this had all happened on his journey over here which could have only have been fifteen minutes max.
Optus carefully made his way over to the other officers, ensuring he remained behind cover. He was yet to notice anyone he knew within C-Sec, this wasn’t unusual of course C-Sec was a pretty large organization. He nodded a “Hello” towards another agent, “What’s the situation?” Optus said more calmly than he had before.
“We’ve got a hostage situation here, we are unsure exactly how many but Purgatory is a busy club. Looks to be a racial human group only thing we have on them so far is what you see. They are well armed, well organised and appear to be sporting a logo “AAC” on their uniforms, the acronym doesn’t appear in any of our data bases.”
Optus’s face was stone, his mind was racing, asking all the questions. Why purgatory? What does a human group have to gain from attacking a night club? Was this just a show of force or a lead to something much bigger? Do they plan to blow this place to hell? was AAC yet another extremist group coming out of the woodwork?
A detective’s mind never rests and boy did Optus know it.
The officer continued, “Just before you arrived a Krogan inside the club approached one of the armed humans we’re monitoring the situation but things could go south real fast.”
Optus shook his head “Krogans!, why do they always have to bull rush into everything?” he asked rhetorically. Optus slowly grabbed his sniper from his belt, the gun extended and locked into place with a mechanical noise. He sneakily crept his rifle over the top of the wall hoping the shrubs placed above would hide the gun as to not cause panic, he used his scope to get a better look on the inside.
The Krogan currently had one of the humans in a head lock and his weapon in his face, Optus did not like the look of this. “This could get ugly…fast.” He said aloud, and just as he’d finished his sentence the distinct blue flash that only comes from biotic users shot across his display, although he could not see who or where it had come from and in answer he saw and heard three gun shots again the shooter remained hidden as Optus’s field of view through the door was poor.
“And this is what happens when civilians try to take matters into their own hands!” Optus shouted angrily.
The guards on the outside who stood in front of Optus and his fellow officers were clearly getting jittery, obviously things weren’t going to plan for the group. Although Optus hated doing things without a clear cut plan and a backup plan in case all hell breaks loose he saw no other option. While the group inside were busy dealing with the hot headed Krogan and friends, he and the other officers could assault the blockade while they were clearly disorganised. Optus hastily radioed ahead to the officers on the ground and awaited their reply…

Practically every gun the humans had were aimed at the Krogan, most unwilling to shoot due to his hold on their leader. The leader struggled and kicked, trying to free himself from the Krogans arm, a large gash on his forehead from where his head collided with the aliens. "Let me go!" He demanded, his breath escaping him.

Then, two different humans hit the ground. One was chilled to the bone, quite literally, and the other was covered in the blue aura of a biotic power. This naturally caused quite a bit of panic in the humans, who began to open fire. They did not fire on random civilians, however, but instead began to fire upon the Krogan, and where the Asari had just ducked down.

Two more humans fell, taken down by a fellow human who vanished behind cover before the human extremists could locate him. Things were falling apart quite fast. Four humans were down, and one was being held as a meatshield by the Krogan. A fourth of the forces in total, disposed of in seconds.

The five humans guarding the entrance glanced back, seeing the panic erupting from within. They glanced among each other for a brief moment, before nodding and standing up from their ducked down positions. They began to open fire on C-Sec. Many C-Sec officers fell, mainly those who were not yet stationed behind cover. Many more were injured, but it only took moments before one of the humans was shot down by C-Sec officers.

------------

Zina stood up quickly, adrenaline pumping through her as she raised her hand, her body glowing blue with biotic strength. Then, a shockwave began to erupt from the ground, blue bursts of energy barreling towards the humans. Two humans were hit, knocking them into the air. One was knocked out of commission, his head slamming into a metal post as he hit the ground with a dull thud. The other was filled with holes from the Quarians pistol, before she ducked back down.
