DESCRIPTION
The MTS-1 is a salvage ship designed to serve as a general use scrap hauling vessel for the thousands of ship-breaking operations that have cropped up across the war ravaged post-Clone Wars galaxy. The ship is a salvaged Medical Transport (a smaller freighter class compared to its larger frigate class of the same design) from the clone wars itself. With many of these found almost in perfect condition, the Independent Salvaging Corp or ISC for short, turned these ships into MTS-1 salvaging ships and the MTS-2 which was a freighter and cargo hauler only. The name of the ship, MTS, means Medical Transport Salvaged.

The MTS-1 has two forward facing cargo arms located on the forward ventral of the ship. These arms are strong enough to rip through salvage and in the tough cases, are also equipped with cutting torches. Directly behind the arms is the cargo airlock which is positioned to allow the arms to easily transport salvage directly into the cargo hold. Due to the way the arms are set on the ship, it is very difficult to get the ship into certain positions for salvage and the MTS-1 is equipped with eight BSW-97 salvage drones, that are better suited for getting into spots that the salvage arms cannot. These droids are controlled by a crew member inside the ship or for a less than accurate and precise salvage, they can also be operated automatically.

The Drones are externally mounted on the underbelly of the ship behind the cargo opening and salvage arms.

The ships handles like a brick while salvaging, however can maneuver somewhat better when not in the salvaging process. The MTS-1 is equipped with two duel medium laser turrets to keep the pesky pirate away as well as medium deflector screen generator to protect its valuable cargo and crew. The crew consists of a mandatory pilot, and optional co-pilot and salvage drone technician. It has space for 4 passengers, but they would have significant effect on supplies and the ship would not be able to last long in space without resupply.

Most of the ship is not used which has its pros and cons, cons is that if the ship is ever damaged and systems are not working properly, it could take a significantly longer time to find the problem area, but the pros are that it has plenty of space to add modifications fitting of its owner.

LEGALITY
Legal, although depending on what you are salvaging and where you may need special permits or licenses.

INTENT
Creating a low-end salvage ship with a look more tasteful, it will be used in many salvage operations by my friends and myself..

CREDIT
This is a Re-Skin of the LT-12 Salvage Freighter , previously created by the The Captain and I appreciate the hard work in creating the original.

ADVANCED TECH
No, it should be easy to steal or buy an MTS-1 salvage freighter almost anywhere in the galaxy.

With this being an extra 20 meters long I think it would be reasonable to say that its speed and maneuverability probably should be less than the original ship.

You also can't have the "2x Articulated Forward Clamps" since that is an external thing that is very clearly specific to that ship's picture and design. I don't think a pelta class frigate is meant for scrapping anyways.

It's not a Pelts class frigate. It is a much smaller cousin of it, the Medical transport.

As for the arms, they serve the same purpose.

I may see a decrease in maneuverability though, but I already have that listed in the description.

If you hit the "legends" tab it is the same picture. The canon picture is the same ship just from a different angle. I believe the tech team have archived stuff that use stuff that is already a canon vehicle.

In short" You can use the picture but it has to be used as a pelta class frigate. Otherwise you'll need to find a different picture"

There you go, included the Medical Transport and Frigate in the same picture to allow you and others to see the scale difference as well. I also edited the description to reflect this difference too.

I'm sorry, but this isn't going to work based on the image alone.

Archived.
