Need help with my ex-republic specops bio

I'm finally starting to write my characters and I need a little help with my first. My first char is going to be an ex-republic specops soldier. He's 53 so he has quite a bit of experience under his belt. The only problem is that I don't know what that experience is exactly.

He joined at the age of 18 and has served for approx 30 years. I'm thinking 10-20 years in the regular forces and then the rest in special forces doing infiltration, assasination, and demolition work.

Basically, I need some wars/battles for him to have been a part of. A friend of mine mentioned the Alsakan crisis, but I haven't been able to pin down the exact time it took place in relation to my character (specifically, how old he'd be).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think, from where we are now, the Alsakan conflict was 24 years ago (give or take). So that would put your guy in the late 20s, early 30s age range, which would be the right area to be in if you were say a specops Sargeant during the Alsakan thingy.

Between Alsakan and Hutts, I don't think there was a whole lot going on battle-wise. I know the republic was expanding, so your guy could have been helping to "calm native populations" or something like that. But if he's ex-specops, you could say he was forced to retire during that time frame due to military peacetime budget cuts or something like that.

If you'd like to connect to anything mention working with my character who is still in the military Abele Hallen. She's younger than yours but they could have conceivably been colleagues.

I'm planning on having him be medically discharged from the military as the reason he's left. Accumulation of survivors guilt giving him constant stress and nightmares being the cause. And yes, most of his spec ops portion will be about dealing with dictators and suppressing "enemies of the republic".

Matching Specter with Hallen would actually work very well. His primary role or forte is sniping, so they could have conceivably been teamed up.
