DESCRIPTION
Okara Droid Company was once a huge player in the droid manufacturing industry and the durability of their droids means that some of their older models can still be found in some form of service or another. They still make a few products that appeal to those who really know droids. This is due to ODC products being widely known for their droids possessing an ease of modification and repair, which makes them desirable for tinkers. Although an older model, the ODC-4DB “Vanisher” Battle droid is very similar to the YD-Series Security Droid in functionality.

There are a myriad of rumors surrounding these droids, even though they did not fair well on the open market in the short run that they were produced. Some whisper that the Vanisher has an oversized torso with plenty of space for modifications—specifically used to smuggle small items. One of the criticisms of the droid is the bulky frame and the oversized head unit, which makes its profile a bit more of a target than a thin framed droid, such as the IG series. Regardless, they can still be found in the galaxy in large numbers due to their ease of repair and modification.

LEGALITY
Restricted. Being combat models, ODC-4DB series droids require special permits and licensing for ownership in most regions.

INTENT
To create another type of security droid billed as battle droid and as a droid platform for PCs.

ADVANCED TECH
Yes. ODC-4DB series battle droids are combat models, and are not trivial to acquire. A plot consisting of 1-2 threads would be required to do so
