OPERATION NIGHTLIFE

"Starlight 2-1..this is Overlord, requesting patch through to the blood tray over." A static voice ripped through the pilots cockpit. With a flick from the overhead compartment, a sharp buzz would emit throughout the passenger bay.

"Fireteam Darkstar, this is Overlord...I will be your eyes and ears for this operation, stand bye. over"

Caran sat with his feet dangling out of the dropship, his eyes watching the various neon lights melting together as they went screaming by.

"You are currently en-route to the Andraste Memorial Hotel..reports of upwards to 200 hostages have been taken captured by a group of alien extremists, who are looking to exchange these hostages for credits and for more alien rights. Local police forces estimate upwards to fifty armed men and women within the Hotel. The Emperor does not engage with terrorists, eliminate them and free the hostages. To ensure your mission's success, you will be having a special guest attending your operation. Overlord out."

Caran's blue eyes glanced over towards the strange man that was sitting among his men. They didn't need the help from special advisers. They were the Imperial police's most elite division, the special response unit.

"Arriving in an ETA 5 minutes, we'll get you as close as we can to the building, but you'll need to drop to the roof via ropes." The pilot yelled at from the cockpit.

Twirling his fingers into the air, Caran motioned for his men to ready their weapons and gear. "Keep your kriff locked down tight, trigger discipline, all civilians are walking out of this building alive today. We're doing it by the books, keep your formations and move room to room." He would pause, "Got that spook?" His words were directed towards the unknown man.

Hostage rescue was not something that Eddard really took too much notice of but when the Emperor himself was interested in seeing something resolved? Well, you tended to pay attention when it became something that could alter the course of your career in a night's work.

It was a great risk because any screw ups would be seen but any successes would also be seen. Was Eddard confident that he could take out up to 50 armed hostiles and help 300 hostages to safety by himself? It would greatly depend on how much time he could take but he was patient enough to take them out one at a time - something that hostage situations made difficult.

So going in with a team was a good idea here.

Equipped with his usual two lightsabers along with a standard Imperial sidearm pistol, Eddard had his half-mask on, which he had created from the lower half of a droid's moulded face plate to add a sense of unease to those who saw it. Tilting his head to the side slightly as he stepped up to the open doors of the dropship, holding onto a handle above him as they approached.

He turned to face the officer in charge of the troopers, his head tilted to one side as if regarding the other man behind his fake smile for a moment before nodding once.

Staying silent for now, he waited until the dropship, specially outfitted for silent running, came to a hover over the landing pad atop of the hospital. He turned his head back to the officer.

"I have point."

Stepping off of the ship, he used the Force to control his descent, landing crouched but near silently as rain lashed down against the rooftop, masking his presence from sight and sound slightly. Seeing the two guards that had been stations on the landing pad area, he gripped one's head with the Force and twisted, snapping his neck.

The second guard began to panic but Eddard was able to reach him before he could reach his com link, wrapping and arm around the man's throat from behind and taking in to the ground.

He twisted and felt the snap as the man grew still.

Picking up the com link the man had gone to use, he held onto it for now to monitor enemy communications before touching his own com link.

"LZ clear."
