Coruscant/Random diner
13:02 local time

Mina strolled down the sidewalk, simply enjoying the bright sunny day. Normally she would be having classes, but her schedule treated her kindly and gave her days like this that were quite open. She juggled around with days like these. Sometimes she studied further. Sometimes she did something to stay active. Sometimes she spoiled herself.

Today was one of those days.

She spotted the diner a bit in the distance and picked up her pace. There was something about this diner that she really enjoyed. But today felt special in a way. In the back of her mind she had this feeling that something was up. She brushed it off as being too wound up around her studies and work, figuring some unhealthy junk food would sort it out for her.

She slid into a booth in the corner beside a window and waited to be helped. The server droid came around and she ordered herself a cheese burger with a large milkshake. It really depended on how hungry she was, whether she could finish the large meal or not. But it wasn't a loss if there were leftovers. They usually made for a good snack in the evening...

The clock was ticking too loudly. Alana could hear the gears turning, the tminstruments inside clattering together, but that wasn't even the worst part. Sitting there at the booth, the voices were crawling into her head. Dozens of them, just above a whisper, random thoughts just bubbled about inside her skull. There was so much going on, so many things happening, it was too much. She needed to get her fix.

Alana was hunched over the table, hands locked onto her head as she tried to keep herself calm. Her iconic hat sat to her side, as her snow white hair hung on front of her face and covered her hands. "Do you want more coffee ma'am?" The waitness beside her inquired, which damn near had her jumping out of her skin. Alana looked at the woman wide eyed, still processing what was said. She glanced back at the table for a hint, and saw her mug of coffee was about half empty. Alana forced a smile to her face and nodded at the woman, who swiftly took the mug away to parts unknown. Alana glanced back to her little table booth, feeling the weight of the world wrapping around her tightly. This was only day two, she could handle worse than this....right? At the moment, she wasn't sure, she just wanted to tune it all out again; but good luck finding a dealer this high up on the planet. She could only wait for Felix, maybe she could make an excuse for them to get out of here, get somewhere more seedy so she could treat her ailment. 'What is with that girl?' 'Probably a druggie, look at her hands. She's shaking like a tree.' Alana could hear the voices, one of which had to be her waitress talking about her. She kept telling herself she wasn't going crazy, but here she was again, hearing voices she shouldn't be able to hear. That distant echo was coming around too, she could feel it, did that mean Felix was coming soon? She could only hope that was the case. She needed to get her fix soon, or she might snap again.

Some people would probably try to make a date out of this but for Felix it was a chance to have a pleasant conversation that hopefully didn't have to involve auctions, gunfire or assholians. Walking down the street he was just trying to take in the sunshine and bustle of the city or world in a way. He never been to Coruscant before and it was incredible site to see as everywhere was the big city. People were bustling about and going about their lives in some mass microcosm that was the norm for here. Felix almost couldn't handle as there was so many people, it felt like you couldn't be alone no matter how hard you tried. Felix wondered how someone could live in a veritable mouse utopia like this, but then again they could probably ask him what it was like living in some rural area, or small clinic. Funny what's normal to someone can be so foreign to others.

Seeing the small cozy dinner that felt like a slice of home he made a beeline for it remembering this being the place Alana told him about. He was already feeling a bit guilty. After all they were supposed to be talking twenty minutes ago, truth be told Felix had gotten lost and turned around so many times he was slightly embarrassed, a place like this was so confusing for Felix, it didn't help that he couldn't get help from anyone he asked, the people that lived here were so much more selfish and rushed than the people he was used to dealing with.

The door to the dinner opened singing it's little welcome chime as Felix stepped in. The smell of syrup and coffee invading his nostrils. Felix also noticed a pleasant cheerful song play over the speakers making Felix feel like he got transported into some sort of small town Slice of life holoshow. His eyes scanned over the cafe for a bit before seeing the unmistakable hat and white hair of Alana. Though he paused before announcing himself noticing that she didn't seem well, was something bothering her? Maybe she thought he had ghosted her. Either way this wasn't good. This wasn't the place to be all doom and gloom but to take in the artificial sunshine and smile. He made his way over to Alana's table.

"Hey, sorry for being so late. You wouldn't believe how long I spent just trying to find this level." He flashed a small smile and took a seat adjacent to Alana so they could speak eye to eye. Felix leaned back in his booth and grabbed a menu that was stiking out from a clip placed in the center of the table. He was here mainly for coffee and conversation but if something stood out to him he would order. After a few seconds of scanning he would put the menu down and look at Alana.

"So how have you been doing? Anything still hurting from that fall?" Felix asked still feeling a bit of guilt over throwing him and Alana out of a window even if it was likely the best option at the time. That scream was still in his memory along with the smell of that dumpster.

Though while that was a thing on his mind truth be told it wasn't the thing. Ever since that night he felt different, now carrying that lightsaber with him on his person, just making sure to keep it concealed. He began to notice things and the visions and insights on certain items now became more defined. He was wondering if he was going completely psycho. He wanted to understand what the hell he just saw and was afraid to talk about it because well, it sounded completely karking insane, heck he was even still afraid of telling Alana because he wasn't sure what she would make of it.

Her food and drink finally arrived and she immediately dove in. She started with her fries, finishing them off in no time. Then came the big one. She took a few sips from her milkshake in preparation then grabbed hold of the burger with both hands, holding it tight to make sure the filling doesn't spill out. Her jaw opened wide and her sharp, predatory teeth were brought to bear. With her eyes half closed in pure bliss, her teeth sank into the soft bun, crisp filling and finally the rich, flame-grilled patty. A happy, content smile was on her lips as she chewed on the succulent bite of burger. She couldn't help but give a satisfied hum as she savoured the delicious taste.

Continuing with her wonderful meal, she glanced around as she chewed on another bite. Her eyes went wide and a smile appeared over her sauce-covered lips. Alana was here! She didn't expect at all to run into the girl again. But something was wrong. She looked horrible, like she was falling apart. If she didn't know better, she'd say that Alana was having withdrawal symptoms. That's to be expected from a highly addictive drug such as death sticks. She got ready to go over to her and ask what was wrong, when another person entered. He went over to Alana and sat down by her. He didn't seem like a drug dealer and he also didn't appear to be hostile. Perhaps he was simply a friend of hers.

She sat and watched for a few moments, not sure what to do. Should she go over there? Should she stay back and let the guy talk to her? What if he really was a dangerous person and simply hid it well? Her doubts and insecurities bugged her for a bit, but they were quickly shoved aside as Mina made her decision. She wouldn't let a friend down that easily, especially not after they saved each other's lives. So after finishing the last bite of burger and wiping off her mouth, she grabbed her milkshake and walked over to their table.

"Alana!" she said happily. "Surprise seeing you here! How are you?" she asked her as she stood by the table. She glanced over to the guy, finally getting a good look at him. He seemed nice. Maybe a little rough, but not at all dangerous. Plus she had a feeling he didn't mean any harm. "Oh, hi! The name's Mina." she introduced herself.

When Felix entered the store, Alana made a small turn of her head to find the young man, before looking back to the table. Her skin felt like it was crawling, it was a tad maddening when coupled with everything else. When Felix sat down and started to talk, she tried to muster up a smile, but it faltered. Her eyes glancing up at him, then back to the table, trying to think of what lie to tell him so he wouldn't get all stressed out over her. "You're fine. I just got here early. Don't mind waiting for the company of a friend." She muttered, her voice a tad lacking in energy, her words coming up hallow. She hoped he didn't notice as he held up the menu, her eyes closed as she tried to keep her composure. She could hear her heart beat thundering against her chest, the clock ticked like a bomb in her ear, her hands were shaking rather bad, so she confided to put them under table, sitting them under her legs so he wouldn't see. She was falling apart at the seams.

When Felix asked how she was doing, she didn't hear him, she was too lost in this mad existence she was experiencing. Voices began to sound up again, their words slipping into her mind like a needle as their poison filed words began to fill her ears; though it formed into something like a mute static. Felix would find the girl seeming to stare off into space, as Alana began to shift in her seat, moving back and forth slowly. When Mina began to speak to her, Alana only looked towards her from the movement she had caught out the corner of her eye. She stared rather lifeless towards the girl, as the pieces began to come together. She couldn't fathom the name of the girl, though she looked familiar. She stared ahead, blinking slowly as she tried to put the pieces together. Mina! Right, her name was Mina. "Hey Mina," She replied, looking towards Felix, then turned back towards the window. "I'm here I guess." She said, closing her eyes again as the static was starting to come back over. Of all the days for her to start to derail, why did it have to be today?
