My character has a cortosis-weaved vibroblade which he inherited from his father (Who lived during the Clone Wars), and an ELG-3a sporting blaster.

I want this character to be able to deflect his own shots with the vibroblade. Does ultrachrome still exist by the Clone Wars, and would making ultrachrome the base material to be cortosis-weaved (Or an alloy of cortosis) make it reflect blaster shots? Or is there some other way this can happen?

Ultrachrome existed during the Great Sith War in the Old Republic timeline (3900-something BBY) to make certain vibroshields and ship hulls, but it was never mentioned if it stopped being mined or produced.

We're not even close to the Clone Wars, but cortosis alloy does exist. However, reflecting blaster bolts is something you probably won't be able to get away with - deflecting, maybe, but I wouldn't say you can go around whirling your sword and sending shots back at their senders.

Go read the stickies located in the storyline. I think it'll help you out alot there as far as your character design :)

You seem to have gotten confused about what era we're in. We're RPing the Hutt war, which is WAAAAAAY in the past.

I'm not making this character specifically for this RP, I'm making it for another one in a F2P online game that lets players create their own content. I just came to ask this question in hopes that someone would answer.

We're not even close to the Clone Wars, which is irrelevant because this topic was mainly about about whether Ultrachrome was still obtainable by the Clone Wars, [st]but cortosis alloy does exist.[/st] and I didn't even answer your question

Not trying to be rude or anything, but I was asking about whether ultrachrome still existed by the Clone Wars. I knew about cortosis alloy and weave, or else I would have asked about whether cortosis existed too. Thank you for responding though, I appreciate it.

However, reflecting blaster bolts is something you probably won't be able to get away with - deflecting, maybe, but I wouldn't say you can go around whirling your sword and sending shots back at their senders.

I think I should give a few details:

My character isn't swirling and deflecting 100% back at them, in fact if someone fires at my character, they most likely will hit him even if he notices because he has less time to prepare and doesn't have force skills.

He also practices this in a reflective room aboard his personal starship where he sets his blaster to the lowest firepower, shoots at the wall, and tries to deflect the shot repeatedly while wearing protective gear. His blaster shots have mediocre velocity and are intended for close to mid-range shooting.

It's when he shoots the pistol at an opponent who he knows can deflect his own shots that he has a better chance of re-deflecting, and even then it's not totally accurate.

Sounds like I'm gimping my character (and I kind of am), but at the same time I'm creating a unique fighting style for him (Which also has its weaknesses).

All in all, I'd like to ask for everyone posting here to just answer the main question of how I can make his vibroblade able to deflect blaster shots while being weaved or alloyed with cortosis, and not to assume I am god-modding without knowing the details of this character.

I personally don't see why ultrachrome wouldn't still be around in that era (though the whole thing where you mix it with cortosis seems iffy to me), but it all depends on who you're roleplaying with on this other site/game/whatever that you mentioned. You should really ask the community there, not us, to get a meaningful answer about this.

Viggs pretty much answered your question. A general rule of thumb I use for mineral gathering of my OCs is that if sources do not say that a specific metal was wiped out / not around / depleted / etc. (I also checked the entry for ultrachrome on Wookiepedia and it didn't even say if the metal had stopped being used, for all we know Padme's starship could have had an ultrachrome hull ), then it's safe to assume it's still "obtanium" and not "unobtainium."

Also...

If you are basically telling me that, when a Jedi / Sith / other saber-user / IG-88-esque droid / his clone walks up to your OC:

1. Your character shoots them with his craptastic blaster

2. They reflect it towards him IN THE FACE

3. He reflects it back at them after "Sooooo much training, and because he went Han Solo on their @$$ and shot first"

4. The two end up in a game of "ping-pong" with their "paddles" and the "blaster ball"

Then I don't know if I should:

a. Laugh hysterically

or

b. Drive you off these forums with an angry mob, and hope whatever RP you decide to plague with your ridiculous character other than this RP does the same

Sorry to be so harsh but that's my two cents. At least I tried to help you first before being the condescending b#### that I am towards bad writers.
