The Luminado Headquarters on Svivren had originally been a military base under the control of the Svivren government. When the Hutts took over Svivren, the base was stripped of its resources and used by the Hutt Empire. However, Luminado managed to make a treaty with the Senator of Svivren (now deceased) in which they purchased the abandoned military base. The base had been divided into quadrants: one for Force user-training, one for land combat, another for aerial combat, and the last one contained living quarters.
Sakaki had refitted one of the watch towers in the first quadrant for Force users as his training grounds. The top floor had been remodeled into a meditation room for lightsaber combat and meditation. He even had a small office added, though he rarely used it. A dorm had been added for students who wanted to spend the night or wished to rest between practices. However, the dorm was empty, for now.
Currently, Sakaki was waiting on his new student, a Nautolan named Taven Avanchu. Sakaki read the Nautolan's file. The man had been a former Jedi, though he hadn't stayed long. He had lived with a human named Faros until five years ago; apparently Faros was dead.
Interested, purred Sakaki.
Putting the file away, Sakaki began meditating as he waited for his student, Taven Avanchu.

The Nautolan's nerves began to present a problem as he stepped inside the military base, slightly nervous about meeting his new teacher. The base was Headquarters for the Luminado Mercenaries. It was an impressive establishment and looked like the Luminados had put it to good use ever since the day it came into their possesion. But Taven had no time for admiring a building, he had far more pressing matters to attend to.

He had currently been assigned to a training session with one of the higher-ups in the faction. General Sakaki Uchiwa. Taven was still a brand new member of the faction so he had not been given the chance to spend much time with the man until now. Sakaki, from what he had heard, was a most powerful warrior and the Nautolan was eager to start his training with him.

Taven found him in the meditation room, doing exactly what it was meant for. The man looked like a complete statue as he concentraited. Taven hated to break Sakaki's meditation, but he figured his teacher would rather him do it than sit and wait for several hours while he meditated.

"General," Taven said trying to get Sakaki's attention, "I'm Taven Avanchu. Forgive me for the interruption. I was told to report to you."

"How dare you interrupt my meditation! You want to die?!" barked Sakaki. He then laughed. "My apologies. I just couldn't resist. It's completely fine. I was a little bit early so I meditated. Lane and I seem to have the policy of 'If you're early, you're in time. If you're on time, you're late. If you're late, you're in trouble.' Not like I discipline that policy into anyone."
Sakaki remembered what the sidenotes had said about Taven. The Nautolan had requested specialization in Form IV: Ataru and fighter pilot. While Sakaki himself was a full master of either subject, he was fluent in the information needed and had self-taught himself the basics. Sakaki would share this with Taven and assess how well Taven's skills can improve.
"Form IV: Ataru," said Sakaki aloud. "Also known as the Way of the Hawk-Bat and the Aggression Form. You'll need to be quick, strong, and acrobatics." Sakaki grabbed six lightsabers from his belt. He held them between his fingers in his hands. "These are practice lightsabers. They'll sting but won't cause any major damage." Sakaki motioned to a table, where half a dozen lightsabers sat. "Take as many as you want."
Sakaki prepped himself, ready to charge at the Nautolan once the apprentice grabbed his lightsaber(s).

Taven couldn't help but give a happy smirk as Sakaki toyed with him. He was glad that the general was so relaxed and informal. It would make training easier for the young Nautolan. He listened intently and nodded as his new teacher spoke about Ataru, the form he wanted to learn. It was exciting to think that his knowledge of the lightsaber techniques would be expanding very soon. He could hide the eager smile on his face as Sakaki continued to speak.

Taven's eyes suddenly glanced at the many sabers that Sakaki had in his possesion. It was almost absurd how many the man had laid out on the table, but it was remarkably convenient. Almost every single type of lightsaber was up for grabs, and despite the many choices laid out in front of him, Taven had his eyes set on only one. He had been eyeing it ever since he saw the collection of sabers on the table. The double bladed lightsaber.

"I think I can handle it." Taven said with confidence as Sakaki explained the requirments for achieving the Ataru form.

Once Sakaki gave him permission, Taven reached for the double bladed saber and ignited it. Two blades of energy colored the Nautolan's skin in purple light. He breathed in deeply, preparing himself for the duel, and then focused all of his attention on his opponant who was already set for battle.

"Double-bladed lightsabers are good against multiple fronts," said Sakaki. "Let's see how you do."
Sakaki flicked his wrists, the three lightsabers in each hand igniting, giving the appearance of claws. He charged at Taven. He swiped first with his left hand, then swiped from his right hand.

Taven's eyes narrowed as he watched his new master ignite his sabers. He had never seen anything like it before; a total of six glowing blades mounted on Sakaki's hands. He wasn't quite prepared for the new challenge, and didn't expect for the man to charge at him so quickly. The first blow he barely had a chance to even react, so he dodged it quickly without even trying to raise his weapon for a blocking manuever. Rolling under the first strike, his mind was already expected a second blow. He blocked it as best he could, throwing all his strength into it as their sabers met.

Taven stumbled slightly from the powerful blow but didn't allow it to slow his reactions. The moment he had the chance, he went on the offensive. He charged forward, twirling his weapon as he charged up for a power stroke. The strike went vertical, starting at Sakaki's head and then to the floor which Taven then followed up with a swift kick towards the man's chest. His form was slopy, but he didn't care. All he cared about with the strength behind his blows.

Sakaki was impressed. Taven managed to dodge the first strike, then used his strength to block the second attack.
Most apprentices went defensive, but Taven went offense. The man struck down at Sakaki's head. Sakaki wove his lightsaber 'claws' to create a wall, stopping Taven's lightsaber. However, Taven then kicked Sakaki.
Sakaki used the kick to his advantage. Disengaging his lightsabers, he fell back and rolled. As he got up, the lightsabers ignited once more.
Sakaki charged at Taven. With one lightsaber near his body for defense, his left hand swiped at Taven.

This time whether Taven was ready for it or not didn't matter. Sakaki's form and speed was too much for the young Luminado to defend himself. His master had recovered and reacted too quickly, making Taven pay with a blow to the chest. The practice sabers burned against his skin but just as Sakaki had said, it didn't leave any terribly harmful damage.

Trying not to hesitate, Taven leaped into a spinning attack, twirling his weapon as he himself spun towards his opponant. He came out of the twirl laying down two quick strikes to Sakaki's torso, planning to overwhelm his defenses with multiple attacks.

Sakaki noticed the pain in Taven's eyes as the practice lightsabers burned at the apprentice's skin. However, that didn't stop Taven. The apprentice twirled, striking twice at Sakaki's torso.

Sakaki used his 'claws' to bat away the strikes. One strike passed through the gaps between the claws but missed Sakaki's armor by inches. Sakaki jumped back.

"Very good, Taven, I'm impressed," said Sakaki. The Luminado general disengaged his lightsabers. Now that our practice is out of the way, how about you tell me what you know about Ataru?"

After Sakaki disengaged his sabers, Taven did the same, almost relieved that the "practice" was over. He raised an eyebrow once Sakaki asked his question. He paused for a moment, thinking, and then proceeded to answer his new master. "Very little." He said in full honesty. "I know it is one of the most agressive of the seven forms. And is best used against a single enemy, most likely another force user."

"Very good," said Sakaki. "Ataru is fast-paced and most effective against a single opponent. Were more to arrive, your advantages diminish. This aggressive form, known as the Way of the Hawk-Bat, requires Force mastery. You'll be doing quite a lot of acrobatics and the Force will be your crutch for it. Strength is key to this form."

Sakaki took a few step from Taven and ignited one of his lightsabers. He held the sword with two hands. He instantly sliced up a scarecrow in the corner. It was torn into ribbons.

"That's called the Saber Swarm," explained Sakaki. "This is where numerous short strikes are aimed at the adversary. It's meant to overwelm your opponent." Sakaki motioned to the sister scarecrow. "Try it out."
