I'm about two-thirds down with cleaning up and changing things, if it looks like I forgot something, I did not, I just got too tired to finish. :P

I will probably have the rest finished tonight.

TAC's observation #1

I posted this in the skype chat, but I wanted to reiterate it.

The Jedi are going to have a really serious attitude post-skip. Feeling very small, very vulnerable in the face of the Sith and the Empire. And so, to piggy back off of our friends, and to create a light atmosphere full of hope and prosperity, I'm going to propose a Weekend Retreat for the Jedi.

It'll be a rather significant logistical event, in one weekend onboard the Light of the Force. With Juno and Guhoo running weapons/combat workshops, Ebb and Larik running Shadow-esque workshops, and Baatch and Vulpes running Jedi theory and force technique workshops. AKA we can all run once class, to pump some activity a few weeks past the post-skip. Then, at the end, we can have a massive Jedi social- which is what piggy backing off of the dear sithies- in the form of a masquerade ball.

A tournament, to get people practicing for post-skip PvP, may also be an interesting idea. I tried to do one pre-skip, but wasn't really committed to the idea, so it fell through.

Here's a picture of some people at a masquerade ball because I'm bored:

I'd be more than willing to head this up if you guys think it would be a good idea. I'm looking ahead at it, a few weeks/a month/ a month and a half into the timeskip, to continued to get people meeting new characters, roleplayers, and actively engaging the faction.

Thoughts?

Yes, definitely once the skip stars we need to see that members are able to get training, since a lot of the newer members came in during this transition and weren't really left with much to do. This however, doesn't mean we need to teach all the classes, nor do I want to see all you guys bog yourselves down with classes. I've seen this multiple times before, classes with the councilors should be something special too, therefore I would suggest picking one or two topics and having one or two classes for yourself. We have seven or eight Jedi Masters, and about 35 Jedi Knights, let them pick up the work, we're not pressed for members to help with training and encourage Padawans especially to self train and lead training groups. If you see they're looking for a master to train and haven't received a reply in a few days, then pop in there and suggest for them to just create a thread in the temples and leave it open so others may join.

So the first couple weeks I imagine there will be focus on just getting everything settled, I do agree though its a good time to push training:

Adena- I would like to see you do a thread or an open discussion on the dark side and how Jedi can take steps to avoid falling and not to fall into its temptations. Under your wing, you will have Kiro, the Head Archivist, I believe she had some missions she wanted to do, so make sure you go over them with her.

TAC- You're on the ball with the shadow and stealth stuff, you also have Kylaen to help you too, so make sure you put them to work.

Vulpes- I will have you work with Adena on helping with force powers, one consistent issue we have is Jedi don't know how to properly counter, so perhaps a class on Force absorb, or something under the tutaminis umbrella of things.

Gaja- I know you're going to be busy with running the Hutt faction, so I suggest passing down the work to others until everything gets situated. Cassa's already on the roll with his classes as the Weapon's Master, and I'll pick up some classes in PvP to help out.

Otherwise as I said, we have 35 Jedi Knights, and the most Masters I've seen in a long time, put them to work. Also if you think there needs a to be a topic that should be covered, protector out the class. Have an interest check, and ask from someone qualified to teach it.

We can definitely have that social thread, a Jedi party sounds like fun, we'll just need to put a disclaimer to make sure there is no funny business. As for your idea of a tournament, TAC, we can have one, but we'll hold off on it for a few weeks until everything is settled. Then that way we can plan, get an interest check and figure out what causes inactivity in these too.

Thread and event wise:

- Boli and I will be supervising the skirmish on Mustafar. It will be split into two threads, no death or capture, just some fun. Boli and I will be doing a social thread with his Bogan leader and the Grand Master while this is going on.

-We will also hold a council meeting, to get an IC perspective on where we stand so members can read.

-Also Lucid's Master from the past will be coming to visit. Prepare for a mind****.

Board wise, I will finish it this weekend most likely, let me know if anything looks wonky so I can get it fixed. Training threads in the LOTF will be all archived when the skip starts and then too the rest of the boards will open up.

A note on the Council Meeting/Council Member requests, unless it will significantly impact the Order, then they can be passed on the Jedi Masters. The council is not the HR for everyone's personal issues.

Also because Lucid reads all the things, he is full of lame and stupid things.

I'm sure I'll have more to discuss as the days come.

Catharis's character Asha Seren had three forms- Niman, Jar'kai, and Shii-Cho. I asked her to correct this, and after some conversation on her profile thread she sent me this via PM:

I just have one issue, and that's the saber thing. Asha's always used Niman and Jar'kai in conjunction with one another, and she's had additional training for it from Juno Armstrong (Cassanova) in the past. It would be difficult to drop either of them. She never uses Shii-Cho anymore, so having her revert back to that would be a very odd thing to do, considering every combat-orientated thread I've been part of has made use of expanding her learning of Niman with Jar'Kai. It's the way I've always had Asha, not just here but elsewhere. So I'm at a loss as to what to do.

I was looking for guidance on what to tell her? I don't know what the correct response would be. As soon as we agree on what's up I'll shoot her a PM.

My suggestion would be to provide an acceptable figure for her. So Niman she could have 3/10. Jar'kai 2/10. Shii-Cho 4/10. She and I did do a couple of classes early on, and Juno does specialise in Niman, and Jar'kai barely counts as a form in its own right, as its an adaptation of a form to two-handed. At the end of the day, the 10 year skip has to allow the room for some growth.

That sounds good to me.

I'll just wait for GABA's thumbs up, and any other comments anyone might have.

Jar'kai is an application to Niman, its not a lightsaber form itself.

Cathasis was given Knight status too, so she can have mastered one lightsaber form.

So if she wants: then Mastery in either Niman or Shii-cho, and have proficient use in the Jar'kai application.

She decided to stay as a Padawan with this character.

Hey Vulpes, I was wondering If I could take on a position as High Conciliator, with my character Fang, It is a position I feel he would go after, and it is also a way for me to get more involved.

I know He is still just a knight, but you already have one knight in a similair position anyways. Also just a heads up that I will be applying for master for my character as soon as this week is done, (I have a physics lab to write, 3 lessons to plan and teach, as well as my regular school work, so I have been busy and havent gotten around to it yet)

Let me know what you think!

-Fang

Note: I have also sent this to GABA

Hm?

As per this thread, we didn't hand Fang a promotion to Master. None of us seem particularly ecstatic about him becoming a Master, and GABA said we'd need to give him more time.

One doesn't really.... apply to be a Master, regardless. And for now, I'd like to say that we should continue to give him more time.

I do think he has a lot to prove before he is granted a title, though. I think it should be a stepping stone -> Master in a few weeks, if he has proven he deserves it, and then a title a little farther down the line.

I was never ecstatic that he got Knight to begin with. In my eyes, he's still earning the position that he's already got. His character's actions and attitude don't befit that of a Jedi Master, and certainly not one to hold such a prestigious role. Added to that his OOC mannerisms tend to be short, and self-entitled.

I know my vote counts for bugger all, but "Hell no" comes to mind.

OH I FORGOT TO MENTION.

The sith were destroying us on Empress Teta, and it was obviously time to finish up the thread. I might have gotten a poke from one of you powers that be...? It was right after Mav left. Well Larik ordered them to retreat behind him, and Fang said he was too busy fighting the Sith to just... jump over him and behind Larik.

So I suppose my opinion would be more firmly no.

This guy's been waiting over five days to be accepted into the Order. I understand we're all a little shell-shocked from the timeskip changeover, but with five Jedi Councillors (GABA, Adena, TAC, Gaja and Vulpes) surely we can do better on this. I've read over the guy's profile, and while its rough, it meets all the usualy markers for the Jedi Order's acceptance.

I'm quite aware of his profile, he only just bumped his thread yesterday to inform of the edits. But I did forget yesterday to go accept it, so thank you for the reminder.

I keep forgetting to bring this up, but how do we want to handle Sith who changed their minds and want to join the Jedi?

Black Noise has been asking if Sogar could join the Jedi and help, which I'm all for the helping teaching about the Dark Side and stuff, but I'm pretty sure the council will hold reservations about allowing a former Sith Battle Master to reside at the temples.

- SOME would :P I can think of at least one whom could care less if the empress herself came back granted the intentions were true to heart

I think they should come before the Council. It would be a case by case for Larik; he would be extremely hesitant, but also, he has seen it work.

That same one, I don't think Ebb wants him to come back to the Order. :P

Alright, so we'll handle it a case by case basis?
