The Grand Army of the Republic

The Grand Army of the Republic is a fighting force like no other. It is a highly professional organization, comprised entirely of paid volunteers. Armed to the teeth and furnished with the finest equipment and training, they are a highly motivated and disciplined force that will fight to the bitter end to defend the people of the Republic.

The Army is highly advanced and flexible, preferring speed and precisely applied firepower over brute force. Rather than dig in and fortify regions for protracted battles of defense, they prefer to go on the offense, using mobile artillery and fast battle tanks to launch lightning-fast strikes at their foes, eliminating soft targets and cutting right through enemy lines to disrupt communications and logistics, leaving enemy companies to wither on the vine as their supplies and morale dwindle.

The primary fighting unit of the Republic Army is the Armored Cavalry Company, which consists of Main Battle Tanks supported by Infantry Fighting Vehicles loaded down with squads of Shock Troops, which are in turn supported by Self-Propelled Artillery and Self-Propelled Anti-Aircraft Artillery, making a single Division more than capable of defending itself against all targets. Furthermore, each Armored Cavalry company always has close air support at hand, and artillery and air strikes can be called down at squad level, ensuring that every squad or tank group within the company has access to fire support in the event that they run into trouble.

On the defense, the Republic fields Infantry Companies, supported by entire batteries of Artillery and supplemented by Air Support and Armored Fighting Vehicles. Again, fire support can be called down by individual squads, ensuring that help is never far off. If the Defensive Force has sufficient time, they will use engineering vehicles to dig defensive trenches and bunkers, and will build emplacements for heavy weapons and dig giant ’foxholes’ for hover tanks to hunker down in, where they can pop up and loose off point-blank volleys of laser fire from a concealed position.

The Republic Navy

Still fiddling with this. Oughta have it done in a few.

So, input? Thoughts? Comments? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

The 'composed entirely of volunteers' bit makes it seem like they don't get paid for being in the army.

Modern armies are often referred to as being "volunteer armies", or "comprised of trained volunteers" to differentiate from National Service and Conscripted armed forces.

It should at least be clarified.

Edited in the word 'paid' before 'volunteers' to make that a bit more clear.
