Nestled within the capital city of Carannia, Serenno stood a towering structure that sat upon a site that over the many millennia had served countless purposes and functions. From an abandoned slum, to a hotel with dark hidden secrets, through to various offices, shopping plazas and now more currently following in the wake of the site's restoration following the clone wars, sat a large cavernous convention centre. The convention centre was teeming with activity both inside and out, countless citizens adorned with formal attire, their features obscured by elaborate masks; some baring outlandish and ghoulish effigies, some decorated like clownish harlequins, others were simple and understated.
As what had become an annual tradition, the convention centre played host to a Charity gala, where all walks of Serenno's life could mix with one and another to partake in the festivities, unknowingly rubbing shoulders with the political and corporate elite, right down to the humblest of civil servant or menial worker who could afford to make the charitable donation in order to attend. The Gala had taken place every year for countless centuries, the original meaning and purpose of which had long since been lost to the ages - even though it was held on the same exact day year in and out.
Yet to a select few that had gathered within the gala, the history and significance of the date that the gala was held was known. This day marked the anniversary of the day that the ancient throne world of Serenno was the site of founding of the First Sith Empire putting an end to the warring dark Jedi Exiles and uniting them under one name, the declaration of the Code of the Sith that would form the foundations of the countless incarnations of Sith Order for the millennia to come to this present day. Whilst the events that took place on that day may well have been lost to the ages or even the deepest darkest remnants of the Obroa-skai, the significance of the date had not been lost among the various dark side cults that had supported the Sith empire to come from afar and within the shadows.
For those cultists among the Sith Eternal, the gala had become something of an annual pilgrimage. Many of the ranks would travel to the ancient Sith throne world to pay a silent homage to the Founder of the Sith, remaining faceless amongst the crowds. Only known to each other either by recognition of their counterpart's presence or the subtle mention of the ancient tenants derived from the first Sith code.
Even though it was the blonde sith cultist's first time within the gala, she felt at ease and at home with her surroundings. Dressed in a simple yet elegant golden toned frock, and simple eye mask, Alyse continued her silent waltz with a tall blue skinned Pantoran male, her chestnut hued eyes, periodically shifting over to meet that of her portly dance partner as a feigned light smile crossed on her features before the young guardian's attention shifted to the swirling throng of dancers, all waiting for their musical cue to change partners. From amongst the ever moving crowd she could vaguely recognise some of her counterparts, but she could sense within the cavernous hall, there were more who had gathered within the clandestine celebration taking place hidden behind the gilded masks that defined the gala.
