With Mandalorians scattered and mere shadows of their former glory, Shale's upbringing was similar to many others like her. Vizsla had been one of the clans that held staunchly against the Sith, and they almost rivaled Solus in their stubborn demeanor. History saw the collapse of the Houses which left nothing but clans and scattered groups of nomads of a once proud people.
Shale was born into a small colony of Mandalorians that had sought a quiet existence away from the galaxy. As a result, her family fell back into the old ways of concealing their identities at all times if ever engaging the galaxy. The habit had become second nature to where it applied even in situations with other Mandalorians.
While the ways of her people had principles that mandated staying detached from everyone, Shale couldn't ignore the growing Sith threat. She and a few others from the clan challenged the new ideologies that Vizsla had adopted, having forgotten their old ways of aggressively fighting back against the Sith as a galactic threat. Coming at odds with them, Shale eventually left the planet to set out on her own. Whispers and rumors of other Mandalorians gathering drew her out to the greater galaxy. She sought out to find her place in the story and in hopes of once again establishing her people as a force in the galaxy.
