"My Compassion Guides Me:"

"Empathy is our greatest asset. In recognizing the pain of others we can know best where to bring our skills. We must understand our Wards in order to expedite care on a emotional level as well as physical. We are not sterile doctors, we are servants of the Light."

"My Charity Heals Others:"

"The Force is not ours to use as we see fit. We must use it to help others, as well as anything else we have at our disposal. To give what we hold dear is a sincere and difficult act, but we will be rewarded with the knowledge that we have helped others."

"My Benevolence Brings Hope:"

"Through our actions we will seek to act as role-models to those who have the power in their community to help others. We are not Jedi Knights, but mere healers. We must display kindness to all, even those considered evil. No being is beyond redemption, ever."

"My Sword Is My Shield:"

"Use of the lightsaber is not our main purpose, but its value as a symbol and tool for defense have been proven time and time again. We must never draw our weapon unless it is to defend ourselves or the lives of our Wards. If necessary it is acceptable to sever the limb of an opponent, but never to willingly kill. If our Ward is suffering and beyond our skills to heal, one can, with permission, mercifully put them to rest as a last result."

"The Force Is My Gift:"

"We use the Force to aid others and only others. To use the Force for simple acts, such as drawing an item from a surface, is childish. Only through humble behaviors can we understand those we help. We serve the Light and the people with the Force, not ourselves."

"This is our code and oath..."

"Our history is not very interesting, we do not participate in war, seek out adventure or publicity. We've existed as hermits, wanderers and witch doctors on less technologically advanced worlds."

"From the very beginning we knew our code would be taken advantage of, so we chose to hide among the less fortunate, giving our services in exchange for anonymity. We exist as whispers of hope in troubled societies, but all hope needs is a breeze to lift the soul."

"Due to this our presence has been kept secret and our true name is known only to close friends and family. We have, at times, been mistaken for members of the Jedi Order. This is accepted as we serve the Light and have become allies with differing methods and beliefs."

"For four hundred years we have remained vigilant, as vigilant as the suns whom we take our name from. We have resided within a hidden temple on Naboo, deep within the swamps. Our members use personal transport to achieve their destinies as healers."

"Unlike the Jedi we do believe in ties and posessions, as we deal with death on a regular basis most of our members are accustomed to the grief of loss, but marriage is only permitted when a member displays the wisdom to accept loss."

"Even so, how one reacts to loss is not always predictable. But we take care of our own, as we always have. Our members have never fallen to the dark side, but being few in number that is not something to boast."

"Our goal is to heal the denizens of the galaxy from the strife and despair of life in an increasingly hostile time."

-Sol Sando Sieno, while addressing a group of recently indoctrinated Apostles

Overview:

The Sol Sect is an orginization of Force-Sensitives who follow the Light. They are pacifists and healers who only use the Force when helping others. Though peaceful, they are not strangers to the threats of the galaxy and receive training in martial arts and lightsaber combat purely for defense. The primary form taught at the Sect's temple on Naboo is Form III: Soresu, but it is not uncommon for members to know Shien or Djem So to incapacitate opponenets. Recruitment is done by finding empathic individuals through the Force who show kindness in all forms. Even Jedi have been known to join the Sect.

Rules:
1. Faction Members must be Force Sensitive
2. Tolerance of others is required to be able to perform duties, not every Ward is grateful.

3. Under no circumstance are members to be goaded into combat.
We are peaceful beings, our weapons are for defense only.

4. Never kill an opponent should a fight be unavoidable, seek to diffuse the battle or incapacitate an enemy. If necessary it is
permitted to sever a weapon wielding limb.

5. The Force is meant to be used to help others, if you must lift a
rock to clear a path then do so physically. This humility keeps us
connected to those we wish to help. Only in extreme circumstances can Sect followers use the Force to help
themselves, such as self-defense or survival.

6. No one is beyond redemption, no matter who is ill or injured
they are to be treated equally. Those who have fallen to the
Dark side can be saved.

7. Discretion is key to the survival of our order. We must be discreet and never draw attention to ourselves. When working with Jedi we can use our powers openly in service to the Light.

Ranks and Members

Ranks:

Leader: Sol (Pending)
The Sol's job is to act as teacher and role model to all members. They work closely with the Council of Benevolence in deciding the best way to distribute the Sect's members. Upon Sagehood members receive private lessons from the Sol. The position is inherited by a designated member upon the death of a Sol.

Council Titles: Charity, Mercy, Compassion
Known as the Council of Benevolence, their duties are to find disturbances in the Force that result in widespread suffering. They determine what planets Healers are sent to and which systems Sage's oversee. Their word carries great weight with the Sol.

Sage: A master in the Sect, Sages travel entire systems lending their wisdom and skills towards the benefit of multiple populations. They also serve as expert consults to any Healers operating within their system.

Healer: Having completed training under a Sage, a Healer's main task is to be a whisper of hope in the darkness of the galaxies civilizations. At times they are called Witch Doctors in less advanced cultures and others as Saints. They are the backbone of the Sect.

Apostle: A member who has either been indoctrinated into the Sect as an adult or born into it, these are the students who make up most of the Sect's live-in population at its temple in Naboo. They study under the Sol, the Council and any local Healers or Sages. Their education is always given the personal attention of the Sol, regardless of their pasts.

Recently, there's been an increase of Indie Force Factions. With so many branches, resources will be split amongst the groups and will eventually cause the majority to die. I propose we join the group s Second Order of Lettow, Sol Sect, and Luminado Mercenaries.

Just a question as a user...

Do you have any NPCs in this faction? If so, how many?

I know you say "our history is not very interesting" but I still would like to know how it all started, how the group grew from the ground up and the original leaders motivation behind it's creation. I know he'd be a pacifist and all...but why? Did something happen to him?

Funding wise I also have a question...you say it's member funded, so does Sol Sect members charge for what they do? Do the members do other side jobs if they heal for free? Or do they accept donations? If it's donations then I don't think that means it's member funded.

I think four hundred years is a little long for it being around...Indy factions are meant to start small and from what I understand, at lest partly new. Also, do you need it to be that old, if so, why?

By the way, you asked me awhile back to help the looks of this faction page. I'll do so, but let's get everything down first?

I can't help him with his faction? I'm pretty sure it's not against the rules.

I just asked a simple Question. It's a yes or no question I believe.

You obviously know the answer to your own question; you asked it to be passive aggressive. There is no point in continuing this conversation, so I think perhaps it's better to just move on? :)
