@Malon I really think it would have been nice to see an after-credit scene. Have it be the Tantive IV exiting warp over Tatooine, followed immediately by the Devastator, and cut. Oh well, I can imagine it in my head.

I really don't think connecting the dots that closely is necessary for the story, not to mention the thought of an after-credit scene in Star Wars feels jarring to me. I can accept it for the comic book movies since comics are always "to be continued" kind of stories, but each Star Wars movie, while they are sequels and prequels of each other, each feel like a complete story.

I liked the fact that the last shot we saw was the ship jumping into hyperspace. That's exactly how I wanted the movie to end so it was very satisfying for me. We can assume that the beginning of Episode IV is the two ships shortly after exiting hyperspace.

I saw the movie the day after Carrie Fischer and when I saw Leia as CGI it gave me chill's. But the movie was amazing, I loved the scene when he is tying to hand the plans threw the door as darth vader tears through the rebels. Even though I knew what would happen I was still enthralled. I also loved how it explained the whole, exchast pipe condurm.

Thinking of things the movie messed up... how did C-3P0 and R2-D2 get from Yavin to Scarif if they were on Yavin when Blue Squadron was leaving, which itself was after Admiral Raddus had already left. I assume Raddus' ship already had the Tantive docked prior to engaging the Imperial fleet, but maybe I'm wrong.

I was pleased that there was a big ass space battle, Episode 7 really missed out on that. But the Hammerhead scene was a bit weird - a Star Destroyer wouldn't cleave another in half like that, and a Hammerhead wouldn't be able to push it with that level of inertia built up in that small of a space. It was pretty awesome to see a TOR era capital ship in the modern era, though, it proves Star Wars technology is almost frozen in time.

It's perfectly plausible for a small object to push a much larger object if there is no other force that is great enough to counteract it, such as gravity. However, the smashing of the second star destroyer is more questionable, depending on how the two star destroyers collided with each other.

Also, the Hammerhead corvettes are currently not considered to be related to the Hammerhead cruisers of the Old Republic era since the latter is not part of canon.

I didn't like that Jyn's kyber crystal that her mom gave her ultimately did nothing.

After watching Rogue One and especially after musing over Chirrut's lines and stuff for a while, I've basically got it stuck in my head that since Kyber Crystals are semi-sentient and channel the Force, that they can almost work as protective charms - a little bit of the uncanny alertness and luck that comes with being strong in the Force can sort of...rub off on someone who keeps a Kyber close to them.

So the Force was with Jyn - and while it didn't allow her to survive, it did allow her to complete her mission. And we all know the flow-on effects from there.

So that's my headcanon/fan theory of the evening.

Unrelated or not, it's clearly where they saw the idea and took it from. Canon can bite me, imo lol though I really do like the purpose of the craft that was never specified in KOTOR aside from being a capital ship.

Vader scene? Finally! In the OT, it was always just assumed he was a bad ass. Now we finally got to see it.

And I'm glad they all died at the end. The only death that tugged at my heart strings were the blind monk and, far more so than the prior, K2-SO. The end scene almost seemed like it was a futuristic Saving Private Ryan climax. Or is that just me?

The ending was one of the most powerful I've seen in any movie, I teared up a little when the Imperial Droid sacrificed himself.
