The full impact of the armored knee crushed possibly a rib or two as it brought full impact upon Voka's stomach along part of his chest. He fell face foward as he held his stomach in fetal postion trying to gasp for air.

Every attempt to breath would be blocked as the damaged rodian panicked for his life. Until his 7th attempt, he was able to breath again and took his time to recover. Voka had no other tricks up his sleeve. He couldn't survive in a fight against a tech enchanced armored man with such a disadvantage. It was like throwing sticks and rocks at a tank.

"Do you yield? There is no shame in being defeated by a opponent who is stronger than you." Ares said as he regained his original posture. The training exercise was to test ones skill, as well as their tenacity. Those who never gave up fighting gave Ares mixed emotions, thye had either courage or stupidity driving them. The ones that yielded got better score when trained by Ares, everyone, no matter how strong or skilled, should be wise enough to know when to back down.

"I yield, I know when it's time to back down and give up," replied Voka as he struggled to stand up straight.

"I should have known better in the beginning but the thrill of the fighting a superior is hard to resist. I'm honored to have you as an opponent," Voka added as he gave a diligent bow towards Ares.

"Good to hear you arent the, guns blazing get yourself killed type. Ive seen to many of those get themselves burned. I think with a little training you'll be able to go toe to toe with pretty much anyone you want, you have the fighting spirit, you just need the translate that into your body."

With that said the door behind Ares opened and the tray next ot him resurfaced with Voka's suitcase and knife unscathed.

"If you would kindly follow me, we can begin the next part of your training." Ares turned and began walking towards the door. He paused for a moment as if suddenly remembering something. " Oh. And if you need medical aid please dont hesitate to ask." He didnt turn to face Voka as he spoke, and quickly started walking again. Not looking to see if the rodian was following.

"Yeah, some bacta would be a heck lot of help right now," replied Voka as he equipped his rifle, pistol, and vibro-blade.

He continued to follow Ares.

As he walked Ares tossed a small vial of bacta wrapped in some gause over his shoulder. They had a somewhat lengthy walk ahead of them, so Ares would let Voka fix himself up as they made their way to the next destination.

The two men entered a room that looked much smaller from their perspective than it actually was. It was the cargo hold which was massive in size. The shipping boxes and crates had been set up into a maze, filled with deadly traps to snare unsuspecting recruits. It was the trademark of the BHG's training program, a pet project of their leader. Kal Jericho, for whom the ship was named after.

A weapons rack larger than all the ones in the arena room put together covered the far wall, next ot it was a door. On the opposite side was a bare wall. And infront of them, was a very large wall with only one enterance.

Ares stopped walking in the middle of the room and turned around to face Voka before speaking. "THis is the next part of your training. You may take as many and which ever weapons you like with you into the maze. The goal is simple, retrive the flag in the mazes center, and bring it back." Ares paused ot let the information sink in. "Any questions?"

Voka sat down and started applying the bacta to his bullet wounds and fractured rib area and wrapped gause around them. He got up after treating himself and continued to follow Ares to the cargo hold.

Inside what looked to be a small room, Voka started to feel a bit claustrophobic with the transition to a tight corridor. He immediately noticed the emergence of weapon racks popping out instantaneously. Voka was surprised by the huge amount of weapons in such a small room compared to the arena.

"THis is the next part of your training. You may take as many and which ever weapons you like with you into the maze. The goal is simple, retrive the flag in the mazes center, and bring it back," said Ares.

"Are these guns rigged as well?" joked Voka.

He picked out a set of weapons he always dreamed of trying out. Among the weapons were an SMG blaster, a set of thermal detonators, three landmines, and a shotgun slugthower. Seeing that there were more lethal weapons this time gave Voka the idea that he was dealing with a more dangerous course rather than sparing.

"Mind if you can hold onto my rifle, sir?" asked Voka as he packed the rifle in the suitcase and proceeded to hand it to Ares. "My rifle would only serve as useless weight in a close quarters room such as this," explained Voka.

" No troubel at all" Ares said as he took the suitcase. He thne walked over to the weapons wrack, taking down a particularily high powered looking sniper rifle. Ares casually walked to a door behind the wrack, yelling back as he entered. "You may start whenever your ready."

The doorway took the bounty hunter up to a balconey that overlooked the expanse of the maze. Ares set down the suitcase next to him and set the rilfe up.

The moment Voka heard those words, he started off with a fast paced walk. He had his SMG stowed and shotgun armed. The rodian kept his eyes focused for any traps that could be laying around the corridor and took a right turn.

Ares pressed a button on a control board on the railing of the blacony he was on. It activated mechanisms that released several doors on cages hidden throughout the maze. The inhabitants of said cages howls filled the large cargo hold as they ran out and started searching through the maze.

The beasts were howlrunners, and they hadnt been fed in close to 4 days. Driven by hunger they darted through the maze in search for a source of meat.

Voka started to hear howling, though he didn't know what creature it was. There were numerous howls and growls from various areas around the maze, more than just a couple. He grew more cautious and continued to proceed with a left turn around the corridor. Voka kept a pace of looking back and forth while readying his shotgun.

Ares looked down the sights of his scope, following Voka with the sites as the rodian ran through the maze. He waited for the opportune moment and fired. The rounds were stun round, and would probably knock the rodian down if it hit. Giving the howlrunners the perfect oppurtunity to strike.

The beast bolted through the maze, drawn to the sound of running.

A stun round stuck the lower left lege of Voka. The nonlethal round bounced off the skin yet the force of the impact temporarily disabled his movement. Voka sweared in pain and realized that Ares was using his own gun against him.

"You bastard, use my own gun against me!!" he yelled out to himself out of frustration.

Voka took cover behind the wall that blinded the sniper. He started to hear more four legged steps trappling across the bare metal floor. He continued to move forward with a more sluggish pace as he dragged his leg with him. Later made right turn in the maze.

Ares was slightly perplexed by the rodians statment. The recruits gun still lay concealed in its case. Ares had brought his own special rifle up with him, it was the one he used in every training exercise he did.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

A Howl runner turned a corner behind Voka, its ghastly face intently focused on the young rodian. It let out a shrill screech before charging. Intent on rending flesh and breaking bone with its powerful claws.

Hot headed and too blunt to concentrate, all Voka could think was what he wanted to do to Ares once he confronted him again. He didn't care if he lost during the spar, he took too much pride in his own modified creations for it to be used by others.

Voka snapped backed to reality once he heard a loud sharp screech and hastefully steadied his shotgun while laying at a crouched position to ease the pain on his leg. He was heavily panting trying to resist the pain, affecting a bit of his steady aiming.

The Howlrunner sent a vicious slash towards the Rodian's unprotected back. It was in a fevor, not having been fed in several days did that to animals. Even if mortaly wounded it would still atempt to take the recruit down.

The claws gashed through the poncho yet only grazed the combat vest thanks to the light metal plates within. Voka quickly staggered away from the wild beast a few steps back, aimed his shotgun from the hip, and hastefully fired a slug at the howlrunner as pushed on towards the rodian with only feast on its mind.

The slug struck it in its back left paw, ripping it to shreds. It did not relent however, and simply avoided putting pressure on the destroyed limb as it pounced again. As it attacked, a second Howlrunner, drawn by the noise, approached from Voka's rear.

Voka pumped the shotgun, skipped a few steps back, aimed from the hip, and fired again at the wounded howlrunner to finish the job. He assumed the injuried limb would affect the howlrunner's effectiveness of its speed and pounce.

Voka's assumption that the Howlrunner was hampered by its injured leg. It over jumped the target that was the rodian, making the recruits attack impact closer to its lower abdomen then its thigh. The shot blew a hole clean through its stomach, sending gore and peices of organs flying in the opposite direction.

However, his backpedaling sent him into the embrace of the other Howlrunner, who had made it to his position and used the opportunity to strike. It was in an almost hugging like posture behind the rodian, not touching him yet. It came down with its horrible teeth towards Voka's shoulder. and tried to embrace him fully in his claws.
