[OOC: Actually, EMP would fry the electronics of any solid-state or even vacuum tube electronics in the vicinity of the blast, regardless of whether they were powered up or not. The detonator would be about as useful as a paperweight, same as the bomb, unless you had spare parts locked in a EMP-proof container of some sort with which to repair them, or unless the bomb and detonator had been specifically hardened against EMP, which is tough to do. Kind of a moot point though now that there's a full-scale invasion going on, lol. ]

[IC:]

Suddenly, all of the advanced systems built into Ayda's suit just died. It was like someone had yanked the plug, but he knew what had happened. He'd been struck by an EMP pulse. His HUD flickered and died - which caused the glow of his respirator's lenses to dim noticeably - and he could literally feel some other systems freeze up and cease working for a moment. Luckily, he had the foresight to harden certain important systems against EMP, like his respirator and it's speaker system, along with his armor's basic life support systems. But those were relatively easy to harden.

However, his HUD, targeting computer, comms gear, and most of his other combat systems just died. A disadvantage, but he could fight around it.

With the targeting computer and HUD in dire need of repair, and the built-in scope of his battle rifle out of commission, Ayda gripped the rifle's scope and unclamped it from the mount rail, then threw away the now-useless scope. He had a spare in his ship, he'd replace it later.

He ended up resorting to the rifle's iron sights to draw a bead on the terrorist leader, as he listened to the creature speak. He quirked an eyebrow -not that it was visible under his respirator- and wondered if the being had any idea that the bomb's radio receiver had an almost ridiculously high statistical chance of being totally useless.

Ayda's momentary amusement instantly dissipated when sonic bombs tore through the air, followed several seconds later by more explosions as fighters strafed and bombed targets with wild abandon. While he desperately wanted to get the information he had come for, he knew that was no longer a possibility. With his datapad toast and the Taung launching an assault on Coronet, there was little choice but to evacuate. They could stop the terrorists, yes, but what good would it do when the Taung fleet could simply level the city from orbit? Better to flee and fight again another day.

Slowly rising back to his feet and flicking his rifle to safe, he drew his pistol and simultaneously clamped the battle rifle back into place on his back-plate, as he leveled the pistol at the terrorists as he spared a glance at the armored man. "We really should leave. We can stop the bombing here, but we'll most likely be killed by those fighters if we don't leave now." He stated quietly, as he walked around behind him and made his way to the unconscious man who had been cradled in the arms of the Twi'lek woman.

He set his pistol down for a moment as he hefted the man over his shoulder in a crude imitation of a fireman's carry, then scooped the pistol back up and grunted in exertion as he stood up, bearing the man's full weight on his shoulders. Now bearing the man, he hurriedly departed the landing platform and jogged away as fast as he could with the unconscious man slowing him down.

Had he known where his companion had gone, he would have tracked her down and handed him off, but he did not. He was going to try to get out of the blast radius of the bomb, find a speeder, and get to the spaceport where his ship was docked before it got bombed to hell. Then... Well, then he'd have to get out of the Corellian System without getting blown to pieces.

((OOC: I hate to ruin both of your posts so, but the invasion is not going to go that smoothly. Me and Mrun are still deciding what defences we are laying out and where. It's taking a while, because we're avoiding placing any bias thanks to the attack in matt's thread. So, if you would, please PLEASE wait for that thread to finish, before applying it's effects here. It may well be that Tuang forces never reach the surface. I'll post again when it's been cleared up.))

EDIT: ((OOC: Yeah, like I said, the events in "The Beginning" are not yet resolved. I'd suggest you wait for Tuang forces to reach Corellia, before you RP here that they have done so already. Not wanting to sound like a dick, but you'll both need to edit your posts... Also, TJ, emp would have fried your remote detonator, and the bomb... it wouldn't turn on, or be safe because it wasn't on, it would just... die.))

((OOC: Well I did that because of the nature of your post. You might as well have replaced emp with pistol and detonator with head. Too much action in one post, didnt even give me a chance to react to anything you were doing.))
