STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
Talum’s strengths are focused on single combat, his Jedi Watchman teacher had been a duelist of respectable repute and imparted this knowledge to his most talented student. Possessing of great skill but lacking in experience and judgment he is prone to getting himself into situations where he may not be able to get himself out on his own. His weaknesses are when it comes skills outside of his area of expertise, while possessing a very basic understanding of most modern conveniences he isn’t an expert pilot or computer user or knows much about anything else other than what he had been taught of the Force and his lightsaber. He is not a very well rounded individual. His personal code of right and wrong and the great sense of guilt he carries for Silaqui’s death are also weaknesses, as they force him into decisions he might not otherwise make that aren’t always the best for his well being.

GEAR:
Talum wears simple grey attire and robes, with a smooth curved black lightsaber hilt on the right side of his belt. He carries a communicator unit, an aquatic rebreather, a liquid cable dispensder worn on his belt and several bright green glowsticks..

PERSONALITY:
Where he was once gregarious and friendly to everyone that he came across, since Silaqui’s death he has imposed on himself something akin to an oath of silence, but he has a difficult time keeping to it. At first he’ll appear aloof and almost comically taciturn and quiet, but when the situation finds himself forgetting his grief and higher purpose of revenge, he’ll spare a smile and a laugh and get himself carried away; usually he catches himself rather quickly and backtracks back into his somber inner monologue. He is very goal oriented and likes to stay on whatever task he’s working towards, and can get almost overbearing in his dealings with others when he feels like they aren’t working hard enough towards their shared goal. He writes poems in his downtime, when he’s sitting on a crowded space freighter waiting for the next stop on his now myriad travels. Very much a tortured individual, bristling with talent but feeling too guilty to return to the Jedi or forgive himself for what was truly a situation outside of his control.

BIOGRAPHY:
Born on a nondescript world on the outer boundary of Republic Space, he was soon discovered as an infant and given to the sector’s Jedi Watchman to be trained as a Jedi. Growing up he never knew of his biological parents and took the surname of Silvergaze, for his oddly colored silver eyes. He was a typical Jedi youth, learning and training with the several other apprentices the Watchman had until he was 14 years old. It was then that Silaqui Nightbreeze was taken under his master’s wing to also train as a Jedi, and Talum was in love from the day he first set eyes on her.

Given his natural talent for the Force and the lightsaber, he found plentiful excuses to spend more and more time with Silaqui, helping the girl who had come into her Jedi training nearly a decade and a half after he had to catch up. She was a quick learner, but not having been raised wholly as a Jedi she was far more emotional than the young man who so sought to be her tutor. A relationship and later love blossomed between the two as the years went on, with their Watchman watching on with muted concern, it wasn’t forbidden for Jedi to love and it seemed to provide a great boon of strength to both of his students.

Along with their master’s three other apprentices, they were all sent on a mission to investigate a rash of kidnappings that had been plaguing an out of the way rural world. A slaving ring was operating in the area under the control of one of the more minor Hutt houses and the young Jedi plunged right into the fray, fighting several battles against the slavers and chasing them away from the system… Or so they thought. They were ambushed and despite Talum’s greatest heroics to date, one of their fellow students was slain and Silaqui was captured.

Their Master intervened at this point, as Talum and his two surviving fellow students went with their master in pursuit of the slavers with the intention of freeing Silaqui. They caught up with the slavers on an isolated space station that they used as a staging area for slaves soon to be delivered to reaches of Hutt space, a battle ensured as the three students and Master fought against 4 to 1 odds against the brutal slavers.

The slavers were defeated but the battle wasn’t over. Her mind, soul and body ravaged by the slavers that had captured her, and in her mind betrayed by Talum since he hadn’t protected her from capture in the first place, she took the Jedi by surprise and cut down their Master and the other two students in a splash of fury, leaving Talum to defend himself, her violet blade clashing against his bright green blade with potent sparks of fury.

Not believing that she could be truly evil and blaming himself for her pain, Talum did his best to disarm her but she was his match with a lightsaber blade and he wasn’t able to achieve that victory. The duel lasted for hours as they crossed the width of the now empty space station, until finally she attacked him with a savage overhead blow. He parried and as he made his riposte, aiming to take her hand just above the wrist and end the fight she stepped into the tip of his blade, impaling herself completely.

She died on his blade that day as he pulled her to him and raged against this cruel twist in fate. He had loved her more than anything in his life, had first failed to protect her and then been clumsy enough to kill. She apologized for what she had done, and tracing the cut she had made across his face with her lightsaber blade; she whispered his name and gave up her ghost to the Force.

Part of Talum has never left that abandoned space station where he cremated the bodies of his master, fellow students and the love of his life. He destroyed his own lightsaber in the pyre he built for them and wears the curved black hilt of Silaqui’s lightsaber on his belt, as a constant reminded of his old love and great failure.

Filled with anger at the Hutts and the Jedi and everyone in general, he took the shuttle back to the common areas of space, sold it and donated the money to a charity. Penniless, with only the clothes on his back and Silaqui’s lightsaber on his belt, he’s on the warpath for vengeance. The only question is, at who?

ROLE-PLAYS:

COMPOSITION AND APPEARANCE:
He stands six feet tall, and clad in a smoky haze of gray and white form fitting clothes with a dark gray cloak over it, his silver eyes are what stand out most next to the scar running across his face under his left eye. He does his best to keep himself from being noticed, keeping his gaze downcast towards the ground most of the time and keeping himself in the corners of rooms and off to the side when he is traveling down the street. His hair is an age defying gray, and his chin is strongly set and he is considered handsome by most. His hair runs loosely down to his shoulders but he usually keeps it knotted back in a pony tail. He isn’t bulky like a weightlifter, but instead thin and wiry like a gymnast, moving with an unnatural grace that belies the years of training he has received.

LIKES AND DISLIKES:
He has a natural fondness for damsels in distress, and damsels in general. This is hard on him as he’s still fresh from the death of his beloved Silaqui, but despite himself he catches himself flirting with pretty girls that he comes across and hates himself the more for it after the fact. He likes to follow others despite his own natural leadership skills; and considering that he does his best to remain inconspicuous this is understandable. He hates the Hutts with a burning passion, blaming them for the slavers that kidnapped Silaqui. He hates injustice and wrong and evil and bullies, and will violently oppose them at every opportunity.
