They sped forwards and Liam knew he was going to die. He closed his eyes and braced for the inevitable. The car plowed through the small crowd with ease, the zombies not smart enough to get out of the way to large car.

The music reached its height and Liam sunk back in his chair, knuckles white as he clenched his fist. He looked at her as she joked, clearing he had not enjoyed it at all. "Enjoy almost getting killed, I'm good, thanks." he said looking forward again.

The road opened up as they fully exited the city. They had a couple of options. There was a military base to east on the coast but not much else in that direction. They could go there, but the military hadn't come for them. It was still an option. To the west, there were several small towns throughout the area.

They drove for a while, it was starting to get dark. "So what's the plan. It seems dumb to be out after dark, this thing already is loud enough to attract the whole state." he said placing a hand on the dashboard.

"Oh, chill out a bit."

The small towns seemed like a better scenario. With luck, they had gas, maybe weapons, and survivors. She checked her gas meter and headed for the town. Eventually it started to get significantly darker. She had ejected the CD and chosen some less cliche and less dramatic music. As much as she enjoyed that band, it was a bit insensitive considering their current predicament.

"We'll stop at the next town. Get some supplies. And the next, and the next, until we find survivors or a stable place to live. Hopefully both."
