Military of the Hutt Empire

For generations, the term “Hutt Armed Forces” would have been little more than a joke- a fancy title for a laughable organization. Typically not a war faring species, the Hutts rarely came together against an organized enemy, and on those rare occasions it was little more than mere cooperation. This process of inefficiency led to weakness and barbarism- a perfect opening for a Republic strike. The old ways are no more.
After a bloody revolution against the then-Emperor Malgarr, a great reformation of the Hutt military was enforced. The once sovereign armies of all the Hutt clans were catalogued, standardized, and integrated, and for the first time in galactic history posed a terrible threat to the Republic.
Coupled with an almost required murderous nature, the advanced and illegal weaponry of the Hutts and the field leadership of the Taung, the once-imaginary Hutt Military is a massive, skilled, and expendable fighting force driven by money, glory, and spice. With the relentless and vicious determination of the reformed Hutt hierarchy, it is the sworn mission of the Hutt Armed Forces to destroy the Republic, its citizens, and its way of life.

(Navy/Army)

Hutt Officer Ranks:
Level 0
High Admiral/Surface Marshall- Commands the combined Hutt Military Forces

Level 1
Grand Admiral/General- Commands the forces in a specific theater of war.

Level 2
Admiral/Colonel- Commands an individual fleet into battle.

Hutt Enlisted Ranks:
Level 3
Captain/Major- Commands one or more squads of soldiers.

Level 4
Commander/Captain- An experienced soldier who supports the Captain/Major in commanding a squadron.

Level 5
Lieutenant/Sergeant- A mid-level career soldier with exceptional skills and a long service record.

Level 6
Ensign/Corporal- A low-level or drafted soldier with a moderate service record.

Level 7
Crewmen/Private- A new or drafted soldier with minimal skills and a small or nonexistent service record.

----------

The Hutt Armed Forces is broken into clear battlegroups and squadrons, each segment functioning independently from one another while remaining flexible enough to integrate at a moments notice. Battlegroups are the largest division, participating in regional campaigns. Squadrons participate in a specific portion of a battle with a set objective.

Each level has two ranks- the first representing the Navy, the second representing the Army. Upon enlistment, you must specify your branch and will be ranked accordingly- however, this is interchangeable and for all intents and purposes is the same. Each squadron must have a member with at least a Level 3 rank as a commander.

Hutt Naval Forces

Overview
Formerly disorganized, the Hutt Empire has taken great steps to standardize their military forces. Below is a breakdown of the declared Hutt Navy (not accounting for captured, mercenary, allied, retired, or hidden vessels). The numbers are based off of a .75 Battlegroup (12 ship) per system formula.

4416 Vessels (Approximately 276 Battlegroups)

Hutt Home Fleet
Primarily used for defense, patrol, and security, the Home Fleet takes a majority of the Navy.
130 Battlegroups (2080 Vessels)
Defense Force
100 Battlegroups (1600 Vessels)
Reserve Force
30 Battlegroups (480 Vessels)

Hutt Assault Fleet
Used for gaining new territory and in high risk operations. Composed of the finest ships and soldiers in Hutt space.
126 Battlegroups (1344 Vessels)

-----

Below is a guide to describe the different types of Battlegroups (otherwise known as Squadrons) in the Hutt Empire. Keep in mind that these are just the ideal models- in practice there are variances to allow for supply and necessity. If you are a current Naval commander, please contact me to discuss which types of Battlegroups are under your command (be it permanent or on case-by-case). You will need to create your own name and send it to me so I can list it at the bottom.

Light Squadron
Composed of primarily small, light ships, the Light Squadron is designed for armed reconnaissance and patrol. Presence of heavier warships allows the Light Squadron to deal with moderate threats, though reinforcements are encouraged for larger assaults.
Attack Line composed of two Vicious-class Picket Cruisers and two Dread-class Heavy Warships
Attack Line composed of one Dread-class Heavy Warship and three Tusa-class Heavy Cruisers
Skirmish Line composed of four Hai-class Frigates
Reconnaissance Line composed of four Crusader-class Light Cruisers

Medium Squadron
A steady mix of large, medium, and small ships, the Medium Sqadron can fill many roles. Primarily it is used independently to hunt down rogue enemy forces or in support of heavier battlegroups.
Heavy Attack Line composed of four Vicious-class Picket Cruisers
Heavy Attack Line composed of one Malice-class Gunship, one Vicious-class Picket Cruiser, and two Dread-class Heavy Warships
Attack Line composed of four Tusa-class Heavy Cruisers
Recon Line composed of four Crusader-class Light Cruisers

Heavy Squadron
Utilizing a mass of heavier warships, the Heavy Squadron uses superior firepower and maneuverability to overwhelm and destroy enemies. Typically utilizes the support of a Light or Medium Squadron, though its own skirmish line gives it relative protection. Best for large scale battles or defense.
Heavy Attack Line composed of three Tribal-class Star Destroyer and one Devastator-class Assault Frigate
Heavy Attack Line composed of two Vicious-class Picket Cruiser and two Devastator-class Assault Frigates
Heavy Attack Line composed of four Vicious-class Picket Cruiser
Skirmish Line composed of one Hai-class Frigate and three Crusader-class Light Cruisers

Battle Squadron
A multi-use squadron, the Battle Squadron contains superior firepower of all types capable of encountering any opposition. Typically acts alone or as the central Battlegroup of a large conflict.
Heavy Battle Line composed of four Tribal-class Star Destroyers
Heavy Attack Line composed of one Tribal-class Star Destroyer and three Devastator-class Assault Frigates
Attack Line composed of one Vicious-class Picket Cruiser, two Tusa-class Heavy Cruisers, and one Hai-class Frigates
Skirmish Line composed of one Hai-class Frigate and three Crusader-class Light Cruisers

Heavy Battle Squadron
The Heavy Battle Squadron is quite literal in name- it is simply a stronger form of Battle Squadron. Ridding itself of mid-sized ships and filling the void with Star Destroyers, the Heavy Battle Squadron specializes in obliterating enemy warships and defenses before they can counter. A skirmish line of anti-starfighter vessels protect the heavy warships as they work.

Heavy Battle Line composed of four Devastator-class Assault Frigates
Skirmish Line composed of four Crusader-class Light Cruisers

War Squadron
The War Squadron is an extremely rare sight in battle, as it is only called upon in pivotal large-scale engagements. Designed to destroy fleets in minutes and ruin planets in hours, the War Squadron uses the heaviest vessels available for maximum firepower. While each ship has limited small-scale defense (and starfighters), it is recommended that they travel with a Light Squadron or additional defense ships.
