The Imperial Armed Forces

The Bogan Imperial Armed Forces is broken down into the Navy, which also encompasses the Fighter Corps, and the Army. Both have sure structures and keen discipline in a well regulated framework, and is entirely manned by those who have signed up from the Empire. Although conscription and Imperial Service is mandatory, it is not mandatory to serve within fighting battalions. All members of the standing army and navy are trained volunteers, most of whom sign up after completing their service.

For more information on specific portions of the armed forces, see these links:

The Imperial Navy

The military is an important part of Imperial society, and is the most popular career choice across the empire in whatever capacity, not least because it allows normal people the chance to fight alongside their Dark Jedi deities. These Dark Jedi serve as senior commanders of campaigns rather than being within the formal rank structure of the armed forces, as outlined below.

Dark Jedi in the Bogan Armed Forces
Dark Jedi are often appointed in positions of leadership above the framework of the army and navy. These can be broken down as following:

Martial Commander
This Dark Jedi will be appointed to lead an entire campaign. They will be assigned legions and fleets in their overall command, as well as other Dark Jedi to aid in their command. Only the most senior Dark Masters are given this responsibility, due to their experience and prowess.

Martial Tribune
In theory this Dark Jedi is second in command of the campaign, and assumes command if anything happens to the Marital Commander (although if the Martial Commander is killed, the Martial Tribune’s temporary control will be transferred to a new campaign commander when possible). In practice this Dark Jedi is a Crusader, often under the tutelage of the master who is Martial Commander. They are the most senior of the tribunes in any campaign.

Imperial Commander
This Dark Jedi will be a senior member of the Martial Commander’s staff and will lead battles either in space or on the ground. Some times they will be responsible for multiple legions or fleets at a time and will be of Dark Master rank, although in this position command can be anything from a single legion on the ground or battle group in space, and it is not uncommon to see prominent crusaders given this role. A Martial Commander may employ a number of these in large scale campaigns.

Imperial Tribune
The second in command of the Imperial Commander, as with other Tribunes, in this role the Dark Jedi acts as the lieutenant, and as such does not require the same experience as the Commander. Crusaders or Acolytes, often under the tutelage of the master or crusader Imperial Commander, will fill this role and gain valuable experience in doing so. Each Imperial Commander will employ up to five Tribunes for his battles.
