Jedi Archives

JArcF.jpg

Once a database of incomprehensibly gargantuan proportions of information, ancient knowledge and research from the accounts of Jedi Knights of past times, no longer lives up to its legend. With the fall of the core worlds and the temples that resided, much of the information within the archives remains missing, corrupted, or damaged. The Order managed to recover the Great Holocron and the fragments belonging to the Codex of Tython aboard the Jedi Flagship, the Light of the Force before the fall of Coruscant, in order to continue to pass on the valuable ancient knowledge to new members of the future.

The Jedi Archives are overseen by the Jedi Sage Master and Head Archivist, who along with the Jedi Historians, Researchers, Archivists, Chroniclers, and Archeologists, work diligently to reestablish the Archives to its legendary status. Information from the archives remain spread out between the JOV Galactic Evolution and a few secret locations, and due to the Order’s exile and need to keep in secrecy, access to all information from one location is currently unavailable. To continue to protect the remnants of the archives, the temples hold several countermeasures to ensure information cannot be erased or sliced in the remaining mainframes.

Thought the Archives remain incomplete, it still lives up to being a refuge of solace and tranquility.

New Jedi Order

Archive Submission Guidelines

ArchivesRules.png

The Jedi Archives were once the largest source of information in the galaxy, containing not only factual information, but also speculative allegory, fictional writings, as well as poetic works collected from across the galaxy. However, since the collapse of the Order in 1013 ABY, the Archives remain incomplete even as the best archivists and librarians in the Order work to restore the Jedi Archives. Certain guidelines still exist in the archives to protect the remaining information and due to the Order’s current exile, the galaxy is unable to access the databases.

The Jedi Council reinstated the series of guidelines that were once used to protect the Archives and all new information is required to adhere to until further notice.

-Currently only Jedi and members of the Antarian Rangers may enter data into the Archives. The Jedi are still in hiding and therefore the Archives are not accessible to members outside the Order.

-All Archive entries are to be appropriately labeled and formatted. While the Council recognizes that not all writers are as literate in Common, or that it is not always the first language of the writers of the galaxy, the standards of grammar and punctuation remain the same. The Council strongly recommends that writers hire a proofreader before submission of relevant archive information.

-All archive entries are subject to the approval of a member of the Jedi Council and the Head Archivist. Approval will not necessarily be mentioned by the Council in the archive entry, but a member of the Council may contact you requesting alterations or edits to the article in question. Certain information of a dangerous or questionable nature may be removed from the Archives without warning.

-Factual or speculative information entered in the Archives is to be backed up with as much factual information as possible. Information presented as fact with no backing has no place in the Archives.

-Data entered into the Archives may be in either IC or OOC format. However, as there are more complete sources of out-of-character information such as Wookieepedia, information presented from an in-character perspective is preferred.

-If a relevant thread on the subject matter exists (For example, if a thread focusing on lightsaber forms exists, and you wish to add your own information on the matter from a different perspective), you are to add a post to the pre-existing thread. As the Archives are relatively empty at this stage, chances are a relevant thread won't exist, however as more entries are made, the Council recommends using the search function before posting a new thread.
