The Mandalorian Military

Mandos.png

Throughout the galaxy, there are species and organizations who put most of their effort and credits into their military forces. The Mandalorians take this to the extreme. This is the body and soul of the Mandalorian people, the single thing that all of their effort is put into. A Mandalorian is a soldier first before he is anything else.

The Chiss and the Galactic Alliance have military personnel making up less than 5% of their total populations, whereas the Mandalorians have a 95% population to military service make up. The Mandalorian military has always been similar to that of a militia until quite recently.

Mandalorian doctrine around war has not changed in thousands of years either, using shock and awe tactics to decimate entire fleets or to wipe out entire cities in order to destroy one target has always been something familiar and nostalgic about the Mandalorians and their Military tactics. Also, surrender to a Mandalorian has always been a sure fire way to die more quickly, as this is seen as one of the largest sins in their Military. These, along with swarming, powerful coordinated attacks has given the Mandalorians their infamous reputation as unforgiving, war-hardened elites.

The modern Mandalorian military, after being cast from their original territories on and around Mandalore, have evolved into a structured fighting force hellbent on honor and retribution beneath The Mandalore while keeping the traditional Mandalorian culture alive. Every time that the Mandalorians have been knocked down in history, they've managed to rise back to their feet again with a fire ten-fold what it once was, and now is no different as the tides of exodus have settled and a new civil war has begun. Effort to create a structured, more unified civilization has been implemented as to establish a more tightly disciplined military force rather than continue to maintain the same militia style organization as before.

The bulk of the main forces of these war-hardened vindicators has been divided into two separate branches. The land-ravaging Army forces, for ground-side combat and missions; and, the space-elite Navy forces for high tension battles between and on spaceships, from dogfights to boarding missions.

The Mandalorian Army | Structure And Rank

The Mandalorian Army has evolved since the times of the great exodus during the outbreak of the war. Before, the Military was organized by clans and militia-like forces that formed a gathering of fighting power. Now, the clan name holds significantly less place in the organization of the rank and column form of military that has become of the Mandalorians during times of change.

Soldiers are trained into differing categories depending on specialization, much like many other large-scale fighting forces. From assault troopers, snipers, mechanics, medics, and demolitions experts all the way to reconnaissance, pilots, hackers, and more. Using aggressive, battlefield demolishing tactics, the Mandalorians crush opposition using a blend of technology, such as tanks and bombers, and specialized troops.

The Mandalorian Navy | Structure And Rank

Invictus_01-1.jpg

It may seem that the great navy of the Mandalorians has diminished since their evacuation towards the outbreak of war, which to a degree may be true. The Mandalorians' naval power has all but faded in the times of depression and up until recently has had growing pains. However, with every new colony and base comes focus on restoration and development of the Mandalorians' mighty naval power.

From the capital ships and hero vessels to squadron fighters and boarding parties, the Mandalorian Navy has undergone the same effort towards structure and discipline that the rest of the military has. The number of ships that comprise the bulk of the Navy may not rival that of the Galactic Alliance or The Sith Imperium yet, but still hold weight for the Mandalorians' current footing within the galaxy.
