The New Jedi Order
The Will of the Force

The Will of the Force is the flagship and mobile temple of the New Jedi Order. The vessel was commissioned by the Galactic Congress in the aftermath of the Third Jedi Purge and was built specifically for use by the New Jedi Order in the event that they needed a vessel in which to defend themselves or to retreat from an enemy, like the Sith, bent on their destruction.

Centuries of peace between the Galactic Alliance and the Empire resulted in
The Will of the Force being mothballed in a drydock beneath the surface of Empress Teta, though both Republic and Jedi technicians alike ensured that it went through proper maintenance for centuries in the event that it was ever needed again.

The Sith takeover of the Empire prompted the Jedi to reactivate the cruiser, and
The Will of the Force was deployed to Tython, where it would remain—or in its general vicinity—when it was not out on assignment. The vessel was retrofitted by the Alliance with modern weaponry, engines, navigation, and other relevant systems to ensure that it would be defensible in a fight against the Sith-led Imperial military.

Under the command of the Jedi Battlemaster, the executive officers of
The Will of the Force were Jedi proven to have an affinity for space-based combat. The ship itself is designed as a carrier, with a large complement of starfighters specially designed by Jedi and Alliance strategists to take advantage of having Jedi as pilots. The Will of the Force is also able to carry a number of Alliance military personnel.

The vessel is equipped with weaponry, but, as a carrier, the Jedi chose to focus its resources mainly on defensive measures: powerful shields, both ray and particle, go hand in hand with particularly powerful engines, as well as substantial armor.

As a mobile Jedi temple,
The Will of the Force has everything a ground-based temple would have: living quarters, archives, council chambers, and training grounds. However, the focus of training aboard the ship is combat, and that training is overseen by the Battlemaster. Be it with the blade, the fist, at the controls of a starfighter, or even upon the bridge itself, The Will of the Force is dedicated to instilling martial prowess into those who train aboard her.
