ORD MANTELL CITY OUTSKIRTS, LOCAL TIME: 1932

"Bring me back my daughter.." The transmission said, its holographic image fuzzy and unclear though the verbal message was anything but vague.

Maelibus pressed a button on the datapad and flicked off the image. Golden eyes scanning through the horizon as he relied on the Personav navigator to pinpoint his exact position. Out nestled in the midst of forestlands and mountains, it would be a daunting task to hunt down these traffickers. Seems that several young women got caught up in a shame spice running operation, parading around when in fact it was to lure the girls and sell them for slavery. A clever scheme, the Khaleesh nodded to himself but one that he would likely have to usurp. He didn't prefer doing these bounties, after all, he was a worshiper of the dark side and preferred to keep to his meditation and his studies. Relic runs were always fun, but then again, none of those aforementioned activities paid any credits, and he had a voracious appetite.

Maelibus moved through forestlands, nothing but his silk pants as the barechested phenom migrated towards the gang's last known location. Arriving approximately 200 yards from an abandoned campground up ahead, his feet snapped a few twigs on the ground before he heard a low growling noise. Stopping, sulfuric eyes shifted sideways and scanned the periphery, dense trees and brush obscuring his vision until a thudding of foot steps resonated from nearby. Activating his guard, hands curled tightly around the war-hammer shaft but before he could bring it into an offensive stance, an obscure armored figure leaped from the shoulder high brush and tackled him to the unwelcoming ground. The creature, a Mantellian Savrip was ferocious and hungry to feast; it snapped it snout towards the Khaleesh who was now grounded, maintaining his forearm bashed at the neck of the beast as it held it at bay. Unable to swing the war-hammer due to such close proximity, Maelibus relinquished his grip on the weapon and instead formed a tight fist with his right hand. He smashed it towards the skull of the creature, knocking it off him and to the side.

He roared with a palpable anger, rising to his full height only to be bested again in size by the large monstrosity.
Maelibus spat on the ground, taunting the creature to engage further. Eager to duel, his confidence suddenly dropped with several other growls emanated from the region, signaling that perhaps this Savrip wasn't alone. With the realization that he may have to engage multiple foes, his eyes quickly darted to the crimson lightsaber still strapped to his waist, perhaps he would require it at some point today. The beast lurched forwards and Maelibus stepped in front with his left leg, using his arms to dead-lock the monster and attempt to overpower it.

This was shaping up to be an interesting day...

The mountains on Ord Mantell were like those out of a story book; beautiful, vast, and absolutely teeming with life. The force had an unmistakable presence here, within the forests, thick with trees, and the creatures that called them home. Larana could hear them whisper to her and even feel them, as she felt all things, through the living force that bound them together. It was serene, or it would have been, had it not been for the reasons that had brought her here which left little time for her to waste admiring the views. Master Ris had sent her here instead, to uncover information about a possible trafficking operation, stealing young women away to be sold into slavery. She was given strict orders to stay out of view and to refrain from any engagement, only chart the information obtained and return it to her.

What little information Larana had collected thus far, had led her to an abandoned camp site in the mountains, not more then 200 yards away. In an effort now to conceal her presence, the young Padawan slowed her pace and approached with absolute caution, unsure of what she would find ahead.

Her breathing slowed and she did her best not to make a sound, listening intently to the sounds that resonated from up ahead. The snapping of a tree branch was the first thing to grab her attention, her ice blue eyes locked onto the direction from which it had come. Moments later, the low and thundering growl of an unfamiliar beast and the roar of what she could only assume to be its victim.

"Force forsaken," she mumbled under her breath, knowing that it could not be ignored. Whatever it was threatened to blow her cover and needed to be addressed immediately before she was forced to retreat.

Larana pulled herself up into the cover of the trees, balanced upon their thick branches. In the distance she could see a Mantellian Savrip as it wrestled with what appeared to be a man in a mask made from bone. He didn't seem to match any descriptions she had been given of the men who led the operation (or any man she had ever seen, for that matter) and decided that, in order to press forward, she would need to silence the confrontation. She moved closer, her focus rested entirely upon the beast, and took a steady breath. Larana did not want to confront either of them, but rather end this on more peaceful terms before any more beasts decided to make their appearance.

Focused upon the force, she reached out to the Savrip and attempted to connect with him, emitting a sense of calm between them. It was difficult, but after a few moments, it stood and huffed in confusion, backing away from the masked man to retreat back into the trees. There were still more of them in close proximity, but she hoped that the sudden silence would dissuade them from approaching.

"You should be more careful," she spoke to Maelibus now, dropping down from the branch she had perched herself upon to face him directly.

Maelibus tilted his head in confusion and simply glared at the beast for several, long seconds. He wasn't use to seeing the culmination of light sided powers but the woman's usage in them was certainly detected. They appeared pure and near divine, a stark contrast to the darkened affinity which he had grown use to since childhood. As the Savrip backed away, the Kaleesh made no attempts at further antagonizing it. He was just getting riled up for combat but given the numbers' against him, he thought it was perhaps better to simply play along with the woman's game plan.

Leaping to the ground,
Maelibus turned his full attention towards the girl when she spoke. Brushing off dirt and rubble off his bare-chested flesh he smirked and chuckled lightly. "I've been told that often...What brings you out here? Following me from the city?" He asked, wondering if she just happened to be in the right place at the right time or perhaps she was going to the same location as he was.

Larana felt her cheeks become warm with embarrassment, a frown pulling at her lips. She hadn't considered how out of the ordinary it would have been for a student of the Jedi Order to be found wandering the mountains on Ord Mantell alone; even if he hadn't pinned her for a Jedi, it would have been unlikely to find a woman out here alone at all, considering the dangers that had been presented. Larana didn't want to admit to him her reasons for traversing the mountainsides, but definitely had not followed him or had any intentions of doing so; it was simply coincidence that the two of them had found each other.

"I have much better things to do than follow strange men into the mountains, I assure you." She folded her arms across her chest, keeping a distance from him. His presence was unfamiliar to her, heavy within the force, and a bit unnerving. Still, she wouldn't hint to her uncertainty.
