Since Sheo wants to get some defenses for Ando Prime, we worked out a tentative scenario to give him some armaments. We want the Dark Jedi to find and jack a small Republic Convoy transporting planetary defense weapons - specifics can be hashed out later. Basically it's just providing the Bogan with an IC reason to have more guns without having to buy them, trade for them, or whatever.

It'd be a PC Vs. NPC thread, unless we can figure out a way to give the Republic's soldiers a fighting chance at not getting slaughtered.

So, thoughts?

They're already getting ships and soldiers from the other main thread, once the rest of the Taung post.

Ships and soldiers=/=planetary defense.

A lot of good those soldiers will do when a Republic bombardment fleet arrives.

EDIT: Go for it, Hakim.

My problem is the PC vs. NPC. I don't think that's a good idea.

I also don't think it's a good idea for you, Hakim, to agree to let your faction get its ass kicked...again. I think the Republic has only won one or two battles (I know Corellia for sure, and that was only because Matt realized Mulluns was retarded and so had the Taungs retreat), and odds are they're not going to come out of the Battle of Nar Shaddaa with their heads held high. You should be concentrating on making your faction a winning faction, not agreeing to let it lose an engagement.

I think the idea is fine...if it's PC vs. PC and the odds aren't automatically stacked against the Republic.

I can have Rilo Shoon and Argent Flight acting as an escort, and you, Hakim, can also have a Corporal or other mid-rank Enlisted commanding a Section as internal security.

Pretty much what I was thinking aswell.

I don't like that alot of this timeline is being planned, the same can be said for alot fo the Nar Shadda thread aswell.

Really the only thing that's been planned with this timeline is the Nar Shaddaa thread. I'm OK with that just for this one time, since the likeliest outcome of it (the Bogan getting a fleet) is necessary to move the timeline forward.

I have a Republic naval officer that can be part of the fleet.

He could be the CO of the convoy, which wouldn't be more than something like a single Bulk Freighter and 2 or 3 Corvettes for defense, along with a Starfighter Squadron, probably.

See, the reason I was going to have it be NPC's is because the bogan himself was going to go...you can see how there'd be a liiiittle bit of a problem in terms of republic soldiers serviving...

We shouldn't be planning outcomes of RPs on the basis of "people's characters might die."

We're RPing a war. People die.

Why would the Bogan go and attack a Republic convoy himself? That's a ridiculous, unnecessary risk.

And besides that, Bogan in the thread=/=automatic death for all non-force sensitive characters.

Because I never do anything with the character and I actually like having a faction leader that isn't behind the scenes, mainly. Besides why would the Bogan care about risks, his mentality was based off the joker due to some influence from Bac while I was writing the character. He's all about chaos.

Even the Joker knew he couldn't do everything in his plans.

Aye, but I think the Bogan would feel that taking over a ship is within his abilties, would you not agree?

It's bad strategy. You can't always know the outcome, so it's an unnecessary risk. It's within your abilities, but it's also within the abilities of your underlings.

I already took one ship with the Bogan earlier. *shrug* I do believe it's still my choice to use him and what not...though if you're both going to throw a bitch fit I can flood the thing with dark masters, which would still have the outcome of everyone dying or being launched into space...

Bitch fit? Still your choice?

If that's how you're going to respond to opinions in a thread asking for thoughts on your idea, why bother asking for thoughts?
