Tsavo was born on the metropolitan world of Halcyon in the region of space known as the Colonies in the year 104ABY according to the galactic standard calendar. Some would say that it was lucky to have been born into a family of moderately wealthy civil servants, or perhaps unlucky to be brought up a family who's views on force sensitives ranged from suspicious to outright hostile. But having studied extensively and given himself over to the teachings of the Jedi Tsavo boldly states that it was simply the will of the force.

While Khil were uncommon on many worlds the Vivar family along with a handful of others had been involved in the governance of Halcyon since the time of the Galactic Republic, managing even to survive the anti-alien policies of the Empire. That legacy of intelligent diplomacy and wit was drilled into him and his siblings almost every day to the point that gathering and understanding information became second nature to all of them. Tsavo though often found that his history lessons, along with more esoteric tales such as legends about the Jedi, held his interest far more than accounting or governance. But no matter who in his family he asked about them he was always rebuked, often being chastised for idolizing beings who's actions and beliefs caused so much strife in the galaxy.

So when, still as an adolescent, he began to feel the emotions and energy of the people around him not a word of it was spoken to his parents, siblings, or even his tutors. For years he kept his growing senses hidden from his scornful family, secretly scouring the official libraries and the holonet for whatever information he could find on the now reclusive order. And of course he would practice in secret, reaching out to feel the flow of life at first in his room, but then growing to feel the world of Halcyon itself, even managing to push small objects across his desk. Without anything in the way of formal teaching he focused on feeling the force flow through the world and on keeping that connection and concentration as long as he could.

Of course he couldn't keep his ability hidden forever and one day as a teen one of his sisters saw him practicing what little telekinesis he knew, quickly running to tell their parents. They were displeased to say the least, overflowing with anger they destroyed what little he had managed to collect and threatened not only to shun him but with beatings 'for listening to the teachings of such fools'. In the end they restricted his ability to leave the house, only let him socialize with his tutors, and often acted as if there was never a member of the family named Tsavo. He did not hate them for this, as they were ignorant of the force and could only see the Jedi as a troublesome religious sect. Besides, he still remembered what little he had found and strove to keep his emotions from ruling him.

Upon reaching the age of seventeen Tsavo took it upon himself to sever ties with those who wold wish him ill, as they were not true family, and set out to find and join the order on his own. It took him three years of searching and collecting information, as well as the funds for travel throughout the galaxy, to find where he needed to go and to make his way to the order. Once there and accepted by dint of the Jedi's teachings of never turning a prospective learner away a Knight by the name of Dardin took Tsavo under his wing. They would trek deep into the world's jungles in order to find those locations of even greater connection to the force, Dardin often insisting on taking minimal supplies and letting the force sustain them in order to teach his pupil how to more strongly interact with it, as well as endless physical exercises to build up his endurance.

When the Knight had deemed his padawan sufficiently capable and true to the teachings of the Jedi the pair set about traveling the outer rim on occasion. Focusing on helping struggling colonies set up a new life and worlds who's wildlife and wilderness had been ravaged by war or exploitation. In this time Tsavo learned from his teacher how to interact with beings of many walks of life, how to more adeptly defend himself when trouble was unavoidable, and most importantly to Tsavo how to bring life back to dead or suffering worlds. The process was grueling and each session would drain the Padawan, but he began to understand why his teacher had pushed him to push the limits of his endurance. In time his strength in the force and capability of moving withing its flow grew along with his knowledge of the forces movements and will.

Even still, on those rare occasions they were at the temple proper and Tsavo was not tasked with running course after course in the training yards he relished the opportunity to pour over the contents of the library. Studying not only the strong fundamentals and core concepts of Dardin's teachings but also the techniques and philosophies of the masters, his repertoire and connection to the force growing by the year. And then, at the age of thirty, he was granted the rank of knight and the ability to seek out the mysteries of the force in the galaxy at large.

Tsavo is often considered very quiet and reserved, but will speak his mind freely when the situation calls for his knowledge and perspective, and especially if a question was asked of him. Though he will gladly engage in conversation at times when the mood strikes him or if someone that can manage to pull his attention away from the manuscripts appears. Often though he can be found pouring over information and muttering to himself about this and that as his mind continues on, just like the student he always professes to be.

Nothing intrigues him more than a scrap of previously unknown lore on the ancient order or way of viewing a being's relationship to the force that hadn't quite thought of or heard before. Though he knows his limits, as his teacher Dardin had many times had to make it clear that some view and mysteries were better left unknown, some techniques never to be learned as they would lead down a dark path. Even with some lores forbidden to him there is far more to learn in this massive galaxy of wonder, and between lengthy exercises he would often tell Dardin of his intentions of collecting far more knowledge for the order when at last he could travel on his own accord.

To him the jedi is the family he had wished he had known as a child, full of caring beings who would see his want for knowledge and not only support him in his efforts but also nurture that knowledge and temper his ravenous tendencies. To him they embody all that is good in the galaxy, understanding and compassion and slow solid strength that is used to help those in who cannot help themselves.

Though seen by some within the order as simply a librarian Tsavo is far from a shut in and cloistered scholar as the wonder and want to explore the galaxy that embolden all children never left him. Indeed it could be possible that having been locked away by his family for years that want had only grown stronger, as he often speaks fondly and excitedly of travel and time spent in wildernesses and starports both on his own and as a padawan learner. One must simply ask him where he plans on heading next and they may hear tell of the the wonder that is the galaxy in his view.

Tsavo is slow to come to conflict, as any good Jedi should be in his opinion, but when it does come down to a fight he is not as unprepared as his studious behavior would have some believe. If words fail, and a situation is not able to be avoided for whatever reason he will reach deep down and use the force to guide him through battle, often preferring to use his abilities rather than his blade though he is adequately skilled with it. Some whisper that his quiet and gentle behavior is cultivated and exaggerated so that those who would wish harm upon him would underestimate him. But the truth is that it is in his nature, though he does lean into it to his advantage here and there.

Even after attaining the rank of knight Tsavo does not believe he has earned the right to build and use a lightsaber yet, as it is the symbol of a true Jedi.
