I just heard about Debbie and it broke my already healing heart all over again. Why must this year carry on like this? I'm gonna go rewatch the original trilogy and then I'm gonna watch Debbie's 'Tammy And The Bachelor' and 'The Unsinkable Molly Brown' for good measure. I'm also going to throw the biggest fucking party when 2016 is finally over, and I don't even normally celebrate new year.

Yes, 2016, you've made it abundantly clear that you aren't over yet. **** off.

I see your "2016 still sucks," and I raise you a "2016 sucked beyond my incredibly vivid imagination for my entire family this whole friggin year (beginning the last two weeks of December 2015)."

It's sad when a part of history most personal to us dies. It's not just about being a Star Wars fan to me. I spent me entire life growing up with Carrie Fisher as a role model. You find that as you get older, the closer someone is to your age, it just feels more personal a loss. I love Carrie because she never wanted to fit into anyone else's mold. She stood for the regular woman in every way she presented herself to the public. She was down to earth and not falsely presented around anyone's expectations of her. She wasn't fake, or ever needed to try to make the public like her. She didn't use her body to get anyone's attention like today's superficial icons. (Although Lucas tried to shape her persona.) She never made headlines doing anything bad. Her breed is among the last of stars truly worthy of admiration, a class which today's spoiled Hollywood brats cannot follow.
