If Duke is cool with this Ship idea, I think it should be it's own thread and moved out of the suggestion thread so people can really do some brain storming on the idea. (again just my opinion). Also if we go with the destroyer idea, I think we're going to need the ok from Weiss as well sense he's the Sith/Imp FL. Not that I see him having any issue with it.

Go for it, but not a destroyer as Imperials would have little reason to be out there and less reason to crash and then not try to recover a destroyer

That was the thought. As cool as it is, I can't justify a star destroyer being lost on Zonju without stretching it to unreasonable means. However, I do like the crashed ship idea and will keep refining it. I'll create the separate thread so we can get down to business.

Hey y'all, another idea.

Originally, I had intended Vash to go through the Rangers, get a bunch of experience and battle-hardened, before striking out on his own to form a mercenary company. However, with all the conversation and suggestions I've been hearing, I think there might be another option to reaching what I'd wanted for the character!

What I had originally been intending is to create a hard-as-nails private military force, complete with naval assets and all manner of troops; something to truly capture the grit of a soldier's life in the SW Universe. However, with the talk of the Rangers becoming mobile after reestablishing themselves, I figured there was another option, something akin to a mercenary company but more like the first official military unit coming off of Zonju. I had planned to stay always associated with the Rangers in the long run, but the option of forming some kind of organized military force under the Rangers might be more beneficial. What are your thoughts, folks?

Mind you, this requires a lot of effort to organize, and I've already begun brainstorming the types of threads I'd need to help create this little sub-faction. However, I figured I'd query on it here before I got to far ahead of myself if there was no interest with it.

I also have a suggestion, again as an outsider, but with a character that will be doing a lot of work with the Rangers in the near future.

It's a spin-off of the idea of repairing a derelict ship in the Zonju desert and make it a Firefly-esque Ranger spaceship. My thought is for the Rangers, in the future, having a page/list of a few different Ranger affiliated Firefly-spirited crappy ships, and their captains and crews that people can request to serve onboard. Kind of like how in the Firefly verse, a captain finds a crew, and then goes out as a smuggler, except in this case, they'll be Rangers.

Just a thought.

So instead of Smugglers, will we be just people in an unjust Galaxy, doomed to forever repeat the cycle of fortune and misfortune because we never will learn to accept that our grand quest is ultimately futile?

Because if so, I'm so on board.
