She was excited and had to take several deep breaths after being accepted into the jedi order. She had never expected to become a padawan, coming to coruscant after the horrible ordeal she had suffered. She glanced over at Santoro with a look of calm determination. "I'm ready"

Santoro smiled, and nodded, giving Isis a sidelong look.

"I know." The middle-aged Jedi turned, in his dress robes for the second time in a short while. Isis was something special amongst the Padawans; she had a connection to the Force that was similar to his own- natural and matured. He approved.

"To make this official, Isis Roh, I offer my teachings as a Jedi to you. Do you accept?"

Isis had been given some standard padawan robes from the temple's storage unit. They itched against her skin, but she paid them no heed. She bowed lightly before Aevis, "I accept." Isis looked up from her bow, "Can I just call you Santoro? I like your last name, it rolls of the tongue."

Aevis nodded and waved for his Padawan to follow him- they had work to do.

"Of course, although in the presence of others a 'master' should be in order. Hate the title, but it's a necessity if we want to look sharp." He rounded a bend in the ornate Jedi Temple's hallway, obviously making his way towards the Room of a Thousand Fountains- it would always impress newcomers to the temple.

"So, Isis, tell me about yourself. Not your story, but what you're like."

"Master Santoro, alright."Isis followed her master through the temple.
She thought while she walked,"About myself? Well, I love music, it calms and excites me. It motivates me. I also like art, I cannot draw to save my life, but I really enjoy seeing beautiful forms of art that others have made."
Upon entering the room of a thousand fountains, Isis closed her eyes and smiled soaking in the view. "It is art like this master, that i truly live for."
Looking back at Santoro, she continued, "I am left handed, I admit I have something of a sweet tooth, and my favorite color is blue. The bright, but soft and serene kind of blue. I was raised to respect others rather than take advantage of them.
She added a bit embarrased, "I also have very high expectations of men, I haven't had a real lover, only crushes as a child."

Santoro let out a light chuckle, leading his Padawan to a small patch of grasses in front of a reflective pool. He indicated for her to sit, but waited until she had done so before sitting.

"You're very open. I like that about you. Reminds me very much of my old Master." A beat of silence followed, but he continued.

"So the fine arts, I see. Well, I take it you'll be spending much more time in the Archives than the Training Rooms, which isn't a bad thing. I myself take a liking to exploration- I personally am responsible for mapping over two dozen systems." He wasn't very experienced at selling himself, so he looked up in thought.

"I'm a Corellian, born and raised, and along with that my favorite color is green- the dark kind. I'm a bit of a bore, I enjoy holo-dramas, and I was raised to grow wheat and breed spats." He grinned again.

"I HAVE had lovers, but never a wife, although some day it's a possibility." He leaned back, enjoying the atmosphere immensely.

"What do you expect to learn from the Jedi? And I apologize for the interrogation- you're free to do the same."

Isis soaked all of this information in like a sponge on mon calamari. Sitting down on the patch of soft grass, she thought about the things they had in common. She had seen a few holo-dramas herself but had not takin much liking to them. She also had a strong desire to learn, and exploring was a facet of that desire.
"Well, I guess I want to learn about how I can help other people, and the force. As for interrogation, I wouldn't take it that way.You have been more than kind to me since I arrived here.

Good. Now I'm teaching two diverse Jedi- one obviously focusing on combat, the other on healing. I guess the galaxy works out like that. Santoro nodded again with a loose smile, looking to Isis then out over the water.

"The most noble path, I'd say. We get lots of people coming through the Temple with a lightsaber and a picture of one of us soaring through the air- false marketing, I think." He was rambling again, so he simply decided to shut his mouth.

"Well, I'll be honest with you. I'm not the best Jedi in this temple- I was doing my own thing for about twenty years, popping in when I needed some fuel or a lightsaber part... But I think we have a lot to learn from each other." A pause.

"So... if you don't have any questions for me, shall we begin?"

"Will I be traveling with you everywhere?" Niriel asked. Niriel really didn't know much about lightsabers, some kind of blaster-sword. She was ready to begin though, she hoped anyways. Getting that determined look in her eyes, though softer this time. She stated, "I am ready".

Aevis nodded.

"Of course you can come with me- I'd like nothing more. I do have another Padawan who will most likely join us, although his path is unclear to me. We will actually be leaving in the next few days to the Mid Rim." He cleared his throat, closing his eyes.

"Now, Padawan, clear your mind. Open yourself to the waters, and the plants, and everything around you, and just... Listen. This is simple meditation, and is what so many Jedi lack these days, and why so many are falling to the Dark Side. A good center makes for a good Jedi, so open your mind and tell me what you see."

In truth, Aevis wasn't expecting much from Isis this first time, or the dozen after it. Foresight was one of his abilities, and he knew how fickle it could be... But it was worth a chance. He, instead of meditating himself, did his best to channel the Force through Isis, giving her a better shot.

Isis was joyed to hear that she would not only be accompanying Santoro, but would have a sort-of padawan partner. She looked forward to cramming as much information from the archives as possible into her head before they left for the Mid-Rim.
For her first meditation she followed her master's example, closing her eyes and listened to him at first. Then relaxing her muscles she felt the force clearly for the first time in her life.
She soaked herself in the feeling, and could hear many things she couldn't before. The fish breathing in the pond next to them, the water bubbling and flowing, every molecule of water making its own distinct sound. She could not hear the plants as well, but she could almost feel them growing. She continued to relax further, releasing all of her stress, letting everything go. Isis could then feel the force emanating from Santoro, he was guiding her, helping her feel the life that the force gave to everything around them.
"Tell me what you see", and Isis told him.
"I see life master". And she loved it.

Aevis smiled, opening his eyes to give his Padawan an approving look.

"Good. This is the Force- life and everything that sustains it. It's less of a tangible thing and more of everything, so try to think of things as being the Force, not just creating it." Aevis stood, reaching into his belt and withdrawing a smooth, clear crystal.

"It's tradition for a Master to give their new apprentice a gift, so I give you this. It's a Corellian diamond- I've had it since I was a little boy. I'd imagine it'd be good for a lightsaber, but it's always brought me luck by itself... And hopefully it does the same for you." He smiled, giving the highly polished gem to his Padawan.

"Now, take the day off and prepare for the trip. I'll get you when we're leaving, and don't be afraid to comm me if you need anything." He gave a short bow, then turned, his robes billowing as he strode out of the room.

((The new thread with you, the other Padawan, and myself will be up soon, I'll shoot you a message.))
