The Announcements board, as its name suggests, is a place where administrators will be able to post announcement discussion threads for members to read and reply to; this is in addition to often utilizing the global announcements feature that allows a notice to be placed at the top of all forums, something that doesn't allow for replies from members.

Although it is not a current technical restriction, posting threads in this board is only allowed for administrators. Non-administrators, however, can and are encouraged to reply to threads posted here to voice their comments, questions, or concerns about a particular announcement.
