BelleBlair followed Caleb close.

"Good." was all she said. Her tone was dreamy and distant.

They returned at the former quarters of Caleb where they found Jac, who had been waiting.

"We're back." Caleb said as he entered the room. "Let's have some breakfast first and during breakfast, let's discuss plans. I mean, we shouldn't go out without a good plan."

He opened the bag and showed the food to Jac and BelleBlair. He quickly checked if Jac had not eaten the food already and to his surprise, all the food was still there.

"Don't eat it all yet. We should leave something for later on." he said and he took some food out of the bag and sat down on the bed. He waited until both Jac and BelleBlair had their food too before he would eat, and he thought about potential plans.

“…I know how to ration, and I’m not a glutton…” Jac mumbled to the fish, who was clearly trying to take the leadership role.

Of course, Jac shouldn’t have cared, since the fish was both more trained and experienced than he, however it still irked him that he was being treated like a worthless addition to their band of survivors. He had gotten them all coats, after all. That had got to be worth something. Did they even realize the amount of baggage he had to siphon through in order to get those coats? Probably not, was Jacton’s internal answer, or else they would at least thank him.

Since Jac had no knowledge of the world outside, besides the fact that it was apparently cold and snowy, Jac kept mostly quiet during their meal, and listened while eating the cold scraps of food. It wasn’t really good, and most of it was bruised or mashed from the crash, but it was still food in his very hungry stomach. He restricted himself, though, since he knew that he would need the food much more during the hike than now, while they were still warm and relatively comfortable, despite the dead all around them and the general disarray the ship was because of the terrible crash.

While listening, though, Jac also thought about the future. Even if he did manage to survive through this trek to the nearest town, outpost, spaceport, or wherever they were going, what would he do then? Perhaps he had the credits to get on a transport (not through the cargo hold, for once), but where would he go? What would he do? The thought got to him, but he forcefully stored it in the back of his mind, saving it for a better time…such as when he didn’t have to deal with the plans on how to survive his current and rather dangerous situation of being marooned in the middle of wintery nowhere.

((My bad, guys. I had an active couple of days...))

BelleBlair munched upon a sweet melon slice in dignified repression. She was terribly hungry and could easily have stuffed her face with the whole thing but her manners prevented her from doing so while in the presence of company.

Her olive eyes shifted about the room, face to face, body to body. She wanted to badly to leave the macabre that surrounded them.

“we have directions.” she said after swallowing.

“We should go while the day is young but who knows how long the trip may be- we may need supplies to set up camp if we must.”

Caleb nodded. "True." he replied to BelleBlair. "We'd betta find some supplies. Good thing ye remind me of it." he smiled to BelleBlair, with the typical, somewhat cute, nautolan smile. "Also, do ye have enough and good weapons to fight off any dangers?" he ask to the both of them. "I have my trusted pistol right here, but I guess it won't hurt to search for some rifles, if ye can handle those weapons."

The Kiffar’s heat shot up from his nutrition bar. His head pinged with something useful, for once. “This is a transport ship, so I’m sure they had safety precautions just in case an event like this happened. Almost all ships do, so this one in particular probably has a large inflatable tent somewhere near the cockpit. It’ll be clearly marked, too, so any surviving passengers could find it. When you went to the cockpit, do you remember passing any signs indicating where it would be? In fact, I bet you there is a whole storage compartment specifically designed for when events like this occur. I doubt they would have rifles on board, though, unless this was a military ship. They probably have a flare gun, though. Maybe even a long-distance radio that would work in the snow.” That realization got him excited, so he stood up and started pacing to coop. “We should find that storage compartment, and then get going.”

He then began to wonder about Caleb’s rifle comment, which made him stop pacing and get a little more solemn. The environment was an issue, of course, but the fauna could be the variable to kill them, when it came down to it.

“And just as important; the wildlife.” Now, he sat back down on the bed, thinking. “So, you say it’s a snowy environment…I wonder what kind of animals we’ll be dealing with. Probably not much human life, I doubt that’ll be a problem…do you think we’ll really need rifles, though? How dangerous can an inhabited world be?”

He had a slugthrower pistol. It was getting a little outdated, yes, but it was still reliable and shot true under Jac’s steady hand. Perhaps it couldn’t puncture a thick duracrete plate of armor, but it would be able to kill any animal they encountered on this world…he assumed. He took it out of its holster and displayed it to his comrades.

“I’ve got this pistol.” He took out the clip and examined the bullets, then the internals of the gun, systematically checking the parts to make sure it was indeed in good condition. “It’s no blaster,” he said as he disassembled and reassembled his gun, “but those are really expensive, and I was given this as a gift.”

BelleBlair placed a hand over her mouth and laughed lightly at the Kiffar’s sudden burst of enthusiasm.

He was right

As he displayed his Slug thrower the twi’lek excitedly brought out her own pistol. She adored guns- it was her father’s doing. Her interest in weaponry often threw people for a loop but she could name just about any model that was put in front of her.

“ She may be small but she can out shoot any rifle.” BelleBlair stated with pride, turning her modified blaster at various angles to show off to the men.

“I altered her myself.” She added, slapping the but of the gun and showing the hollow rounds inside. They were filled with a liquid that could disintegrate holes in most (but not all) types of armor.

“Wouldn’t dream of choosing any other weapon over my pistol…” she said, dreamily gazing at its shine.

"Alright, that's settled then. Rifles are more weight also. So, let's stick to our pistols, they're fine yeah. I guess." Caleb agreed with both of them. It was just an idea that popped up in his mind.

"So, are you guys ready to embark our journey?"

Jac stuffed the rest of the nutrition bar into his mouth, and nodded a positive response to Caleb. With the realization that they were about to leave the warmth and comfort of the spaceship, Jac's heart began to quicken its pace, and he began to feel the onset of butterflies in his stomach. Whether he was excited about this crazy adventure happening so early on in his lifetime adventure, or whether he was deathly nervous about freezing in a cold, depressing snowstorm and being left behind for the winter animals to feed on, he was not sure. The odd thing about the situation was, that he preferred the warm comfort of a ship which carried an abundance of dead people and blood splattered in the hallways. There wasn't many times one could say that seriously.

On the bright side, though, he was looking forward to trying out his new, fashionable coat. It would keep his upper half toasty warm, as long as its solar charge kept up, which shouldn't be a problem, as long as they didn't have a huge snow storm lasting a couple days outside.

He finished swallowing his food, and said, "Yeah, first, we search near the cockpit for the safety supplies, which would be easy. Then, let's get out there in the cold, and start the trek to...wherever we are going. That's on you, Caleb, so don't get us lost or we all die." He made sure that the fish knew it was his fault if they got lost. That way, blame could be easily placed in the event that they did get lost. And he would have a great reason to eat sushi, which was quite a delicacy. Jac licked his lips instinctively, as his stomach knew very well that a nutrition bar was in no way as filling or tasty as the sushi he was conjuring up in his mind. Jac through the thought away when his stomach started to grumble with desire.

BelleBlair examined the white coat with a smirk of suppressed satisfaction, pulling her old one from her sore body she covered herself in the new garment and examined herself shyly.

“This is a lovely Coat…” she purred., her Lekku struggling beneath their muzzles.

She then walked to the ships exit and opened the doors, turning to her companions as a light wind blew her head tails back.

“Gentlemen,” She said.

“Shall we?”

"Jac, if we get lost, it will not be my fault. I am trying my best and I have never been on this planet before, ok? Ya really lookin' for a fight now and that's something we certainly can't use. We need to work together!" Caleb said before they left the quarters.

After they visited the cockpit for the extra supplies (I suppose Jac carries them as Caleb already carries the food and his own pack), they stood before the exit. After BelleBlair spoke, Caleb said: "Alright, milady. Let's go." he smiled.

He was the first to step into the cold area. Up ahead he saw the bushes he and BelleBlair hid earlier. He took his datapad out of his pack and looked up the coordinates. He then looked in front of him and pointed with his left arm in front of him as he held the datapad in his right hand.

"That way." he said and he started to walk.

They found the survival supplies quickly, as it was clearly marked near the cockpit. It came with an inflatable structure (there were multiple, they took the 4-man tent), which, deflated, could easily fit into a backpack, as well as two flares, a flare gun, emergency rations, and sleeping bags. This would keep them at least relatively warm at night. He tossed it in his backpack he collected from one of the open rooms, and they went on their way.

Caleb was a jerk, and tried to cover his back in the event they got lost, but Jac knew that it would, in fact, be Caleb's fault. So he mumbled some expletives after Caleb's failed attempt at saving himself, and the continued into the cold. Jac followed behind the Twi'lek, who followed their "leader", Caleb. What a fish.

((Jac is definitely going to start some shit with Caleb. And Caleb is definitely going to beat the shit out of Jac. It'll be funny to write about Jac fail. OR WILL HE!? DAVID VS GOLIATH!? Probably not...))

BelleBlair smiled at Caleb’s back and periodically looked over her shoulder to make sure Jac was in toe, however reluctant he might be.

She hugged her collar to her and let the warm ghosts of her exhale hang in the air as she passed them by.

“ What’s brings you to Ord Vaxal?” She asked. The twi’lek felt a need to prevent any long silences- she could feel the tension between the two males like static eletricity waiting to burst into lightning.

"Sightseeing..." Caleb said. He remained silent for a few moments and then added: "...And shooting. Gotta kill somebody with a bounty on his head, but I'm probably too late. Some other Bounty Hunter might've already hunted my target by now. So I'll see what I'll run into when we get in Tof Soren. What about you, BelleBlair?"

He was glad BelleBlair asked him that. The more he could talk with her, the less he thought or talked with Jac. He did not want to fight, and if Jac would try to start one, Caleb would try to ignore it or end it very quickly.

BelleBlair lifter her chin with new found enthusiasm. She had a great respect for bounty hunters, which she assumed Caleb to be. Not but a few weeks ago she had kept the company of two male hunters who had put their lives on the line to retrieve her kidnapped niece and protect both she and the little human’s life. She felt her stomach flutter and began before she heard the nautolan’s inquiry.

“My elder brother…” said the twi’lek reluctantly, her soft voice pained.

“I need ot pick him up. He’s landed in some trouble.”

'again.'

There was no point in hiding it, it would only give her worse shame if her company were to find out her involvement with her thuggish sibling on their own.

"Trouble?" Caleb asked. "What did he do?"

BelleBlair sounded serious and Caleb was curious. If he would be too late for his own job, he might be able to help her out, though he did not say that yet.

BelleBlair rubbed her upper arms and looked at the frozen floor of dirt and white.

“ He was just himself…” She said.

“Mullen has never picked his friend’s wisely…or his fights.”

It seemed to the Twi’lek this is how things would always be. She felt bound by her Human family to protect their wayward son- despite his past aggressions upon her, she owed it to them- to repay them for their kindness and acceptance when she was child- when she needed it most. She was purchased as a slave and made a daughter- the least she could do was follow her sibling and help wipe up the messes he made before anyone else slipped in them….

Though it looked as though whenever she finished cleaning up one, Mullen was busy across the galaxy making another….

"Your brother seems like kind of a dick." Jac threw out the comment with no reserve. "I mean, you survive a rather serious crash in which 3 out of maybe 50 people survive. Then you walk across a frozen tundra, and let's say you survive that, you are still set on rescuing a brother which has causing you nothing but 'trouble' multiple times, and only makes bad friends and enemies?" Jac breathed in and out, visibly showing how much of a mouthful this guy was.

"Yeah, he kind of sounds like a dick. I'd hire the fish guy here to shoot him. Give the hired gun some cash, and save yourself some trouble. I mean, live your life. You should be dead. Especially from that crash." Jac finished, with his jaw facing the sky. He felt real smug, realizing just how screwed up his companions were. I mean, he may be a homeless vagabond with no purpose in life yet, but at least he wasn't the two in front of him. So far, they hadn't shown him much to respect. Except their potential combat prowess, there wasn't much but flaws in these two, Jac rashly surmised.

BelleBlair was not offended She looked to Jac, she had pleaded her case to many and would always say the same:

“I know he’s not a good man, but he’s family.” She spoke to the Kiffar firmly.

“ I can’t ignore that he needs my help…” she faced forward again, adding as she strode:

“ Now more then ever…When he’s back on Coruscant he’s on his own…I’ll have done what I could…”

((Yeah, I'd love to restlessly spend the night playing with you in all sorts of different situations. Wait. That could be misconstrued...))

That answer wasn't enough for Jac.

"You act like it's your duty to continuously pull your brother out of a Rancor's shit-filled mouth. I bet you any amount of money that, even if you get him back to Coruscant, he'll still screw up, and you'll still come to his rescue, no matter how many times it happens. And you'll probably grieve his death, which should be more of a relief to you than anything."

He had a very hard time understand Belleblair. Her 'compassion' simply went over the young Kiffar's head. The family issue he could not understand, either.

"Why care so much for these certain people? I don't get it. You kill strangers so easily, so fluently, judging by your skills with a blaster, and the fact that you're about to face your brothers captures so blindly. What makes this asshole of a brother any better than all the other brothers you've killed?"
