Rhonan Tor
[fancybox4="http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk215/agnulfr/Rhonan_Padawan_BustII_zpscuzre6vx.png"]FULL NAME: Rhonan Tor
AGE: 16
SPECIES: Cathar

HEIGHT: 1.8 meters (5’11”) and still growing
WEIGHT: 195 lbs

EYE COLOR: Ice-opal blue with a flash of gold around the pupil
HAIR COLOR: Rusty auburn with streaks of flaxen gold.
SKIN COLOR: Rhonan's skin is a pale flesh tone, but is adorned with short fur of gold-and-bronze coloring with a unique striped pattern from head to toe.
MARKINGS: Like all Cathar, Rhonan’s stripe pattern is unique to him. In addition, he has a Mandalorian brand on his right forearm and a patchwork of scars inflicted by the Mandalorian Separatist slavers. In particular, the crescent whip scars on his back (and the back of his head) are the most evident.

FACTION: Jedi Order
RANK: Padawan

Rho_youngin_bust-lowrez_zpsnomhf7mg.jpg

In his youth, Rhonan was always a large boy. Considerably taller than average, he was awkwardly proportioned before he filled in. When he was pulled from the slave camps, Rhonan was terribly emaciated and malnourished near the point of death. His long limbs lacked the usual stockiness a cub like him was supposed to have, making his hands and joints seem over-sized and knobby. Icy, opalescent eyes hold the remnants of hopeful dreams, but are also host to a distance and hardness unbecoming one of his age. Across his back is a patchwork of scars - likely left behind by an electrowhip or some other crude and inhumane treatment. The wounds that caused them ran deep, and had improperly healed before the Jedi came around. The scars, and the brand on his right forearm, would stick with Rhonan throughout his life.

After being taken in by the Jedi and nurtured back to a healthy baseline for a boy his size, he filled out quickly. There is a thickness to his sinew that normally would not begin appearing in humans until adolescence, but Cathar usually begin their life as hunters early on. Little definition was evident as baby fat was still present, so Rhonan looked more puffy than muscular.

Like other young Cathar, Rhonan’s stripes had not yet taken shape. His downy cub-fur was splotched with the colors he inherited, providing a natural camouflage better suited to hide than to prowl. While others preferred a full and lengthy mane, the deep scars on the back of Rhonan’s head made a full mane patchy and misshapen. So, he keeps his rust-red mane reduced to a short shock of fur atop his head.

Regarding attire, Rhonan found the humble clothing of the Jedi tolerable, though he would be damned if he was ever parted with his necklace. Early on, he found a love for the rich and dark shades of blue found in some galactic textiles. While he dressed in the earthen tunics and slacks of the younglings, Rhonan insisted on a blue obi and loincloth. He had his new wardrobe for a whole week before he liberated himself of the gaping sleeves.

Continuing his growth under Jedi tutelage, Rhonan was hardened into an impressive physical specimen as his body was amid its transition from boy to man. Sprouting quickly, and often painfully, he underwent lightning rounds of development in a few short years. The puffy physique of childhood melted away to steely ridges of sinew. Forged under the tutelage of Master Hlodovic, Rhonan relished the near-spartan upbringing. His eyes have hardened into something keen and piercing, but still bright with life.

Along with the growth of his mane into a wolf-tail, his stripes developed early on in his descent into puberty. Rhonan’s Padawan braid hangs from his right temple in the traditional fashion, though he has adorned it with beads of bone and metal. Through more habit than anything else, Rhonan keeps his right forearm wrapped, covering the brand left on him by his past life. The pain - both physically and psychologically - has faded but is not yet gone.

Preferring a sleeveless tunic unless otherwise required by extreme climates, Rhonan still has an attraction to the color blue, which he still employs for his obi and sash. Wrapping a two-tone earthen tunic over a darker chocolate colored under tunic, he clasps his utility belt over his obi. Trousers the same color as his under tunic are tucked into durable leather boots.

STRENGTH:
■■■■■■■■■■
Due to his naturally large stature, Rhonan is remarkably formidable for his and age. He is capable of outperforming most others in his peer group in feats of physical prowess, except the hardier and particularly robust species in the Galaxy (wookie, besalisk, trandoshan).

DEXTERITY:
■■■■■■■■■■
While not particularly acrobatic, Rhonan has the feline dexterity and reflexes of his people. This puts his hand-eye coordination a stride above average, but more than anything it permits him to maintain his center of balance almost entirely by second nature. The stereotype remains: if a cat falls, it’ll land on its feet.

CONSTITUTION:
■■■■■■■■■■
While he has mostly recovered from his wounds, Rhonan still feels the phantom pains nearly on a daily basis. In particularly cold weather, those old wounds will flare with anguish. Until he is fully healed, both physically and mentally, he will simply not reach his full potential as a Jedi.

INTELLIGENCE:
■■■■■■■■■■
Rhonan is of average intellect for his age. While he hasn't had much in way of traditional schooling, he is able to pick up academic matters at an average pace. Complex matters like language are particularly difficult for him to grasp. He has proven to be a visual learner above all things; he will watch others intently and be able to mimmic (or counter) their motions closely, repeating the movements until they become muscle memory

WISDOM:
■■■■■■■■■■
Adolescence has done Rhonan few favors in tempering his bravado, but he had learned to allow his wounds to turn to wisdom, and that his Master [usually] knows best.

CHARISMA:
■■■■■■■■■■
Growing taller and developing a more mature male’s frame, Rhonan’s childhood sweetness was slowly refined into an adolescent charm. Those older than him may see him as cute or simply charming, while some in his peer group could easily call him aesthetically pleasing, if not attractive. In high societal interactions, he stands out like a sore thumb since he lacks much of the social graces that many of the more experienced Jedi have. He is terrible at speaking to the opposite gender unless he knows them as a friend. Even then, adolescent awkwardness lingers like a shadow.

PERSONALITY
[fancybox2]

Though passionate, stubborn, and occasionally foolish, the young Rhonan is a boy with nothing but good intentions. Through his time and training with the Jedi, Rhonan's strong sense of bravery was encouraged, even bolstered, by the teachings of his master. But bravery requires hot blood, and that blood can ,at times, boil in anger. Especially during his recovery following his time in slavery, Rhonan was extremely withdrawn and bitter. He had gone from one alien place to another, and sought only stability both within and without. As a Youngling, such stability and security is imperative to him. Finally, among the Jedi, he feels like he is in a place he could call home.

With memories of Cathar muddled and faded, Rhonan clings to the certainty of the Jedi and their teachings. Never being partial to the taste of defeat of failure, Rhonan remains extremely critical regarding himself and his abilities. This often leads to frustration and, in his younger years, bouts of anger. It was not until some time that Rhonan was able to develop more of a handle on his emotions. Through a steady morning routine of meditation and exercise, Rhonan is able to keep his internal storm down to a low rumble.

Likes:
With his people’s culture steeped in great sagas of their heroes, Rhonan’s eyes will always light up in the presence of a well-told story. The grander the tale, the greater Rhonan’s sense of wonder. One day, he hopes to be the one telling those stories, or to be the hero in them, as so many Jedi are.

Having experienced his fill of cramped spaces early on, Rhonan feels a great sense of blissful ease when he is in the open. Feeling the soft breeze through his hair, the soil beneath his feet, the stars up above; those are some of Rhonan’s favorite things. He would take a wild frontier world over an urban jungle like Coruscant any day.

Perhaps due to his youthful energy, or simply part of his personality, Rhonan enjoys activities of a physical nature. Running, sparring, acrobatics, and the like are all things that Rhonan looks forward to in a day.

While not outrightly social, Rhonan finds comfort and a simple joy in the camaraderie of peers. Conversation, practice, play, study, and other group activities with others near his age help Rhonan feel like he belongs.

Dislikes:
When not forced into the arena’s preliminary games, Rhonan remembers only the tightness and darkness of his solitary cell. It was a waking nightmare; black as pitch and hardly large enough to fit the cub. As a result, Rhonan has a crippling fear of complete darkness and tight spaces.

Equal parts shame and remembrance, Rhonan keeps the Death Watch brand on his forearm covered as often as he can manage, especially when in the company of others. He knows the wicked Death Watch inside and out, and the fact that he bears their mark upon his living flesh wounds him arguably deeper than the physical trauma itself.

Little will rouse a fury in Rhonan faster than a pair of binders. He vividly remembers the grit and grind of binders at his wrists and if he never felt them on his person again, it would be too soon. It goes beyond a simple phobia and into complete aversion. He doesn’t want to be in the same room as binders or any other forms of prisoner restraint.

While it was Death Watch alone that inflicted such suffering upon Rhonan and his kin, he has an immediate distrust of those donning the armor of a mandalorian. It is nothing racial or cultural, but simply the little voice of survival instinct in his head that recognizes a possible threat.

Strengths:
Being a natural born hunter, Rhonan has taken to the life of the galactic frontier better than most. He can track his quarry through a great many environs, natural and sentient-made, by scent alone. With the use of his other enhanced senses, it takes a particularly skilled, crafty, or lucky individual to get past his notice.

Once slave to the Black Watch in his youth, Rhonan had his heart, body, and mind hardened in order to cope with the horrors of his experience. With an effort of will, he can shrug off pain that could have others doubling over... at least for a time.

Strength/Weakness:
Regarding the Force, Rhonan is extremely potent in it. It ebbs and flows around him in a tense knot, a wellspring of raw, untapped potential. He, however, has little natural talent in channeling the Force. He is the Force Sensitive’s equivalent to a wrecking ball: he can throw around a lot of weight and have a great effect in proportion to his size, but the more control, focus, or finesse required for a task lowers Rhonan’s chance of success greatly.

Weaknesses:
Nyctophobia and claustrophobia both weigh heavily on Rhonan, making space travel in small craft a terribly unpleasant experience. One must remember the low-light vision that Cathar are naturally endowed with, so Rhonan’s nyctophobia revolves around complete darkness. As for tight spaces, Rhonan needs to be able to have free range of movement and no sense of stale air.

The Cathar, by nature, are a passionate and stubborn people. They don't take matters lying down, and have bounced back from enslavement and near-extinction on multiple occasions. Rhonan is part of this heritage and embraces the bloody past, as well as the violent nature of his people. This can make him exceptionally difficult to deal with on several levels, and it also means that he can be goaded with the proper triggers.

Stubborn to a fault, Rhonan keeps focused on a task until its completion. In the earlier days of his training and recovery, that resulted in sleepless days and nights of the cub trying to overcome various physical and mental hurdles.

BIOGRAPHY
[fancybox4="http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/e/e8/Oldrepublic_27_10.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20081205063748"]
From Small Beginnings
Rhonan Tor was born on Cathar, one of three cubs in his litter. His parents were both Shamans of his city-tree; holy individuals of considerable reverence and influence. Ever since Rhonan, his brother Dovun, and his sister Syrine could walk and talk, they were trained harshly by their parents, Elders, and the Tree’s Warriors. Rhonan, being the first of the three to leave his mother’s body, was treated the hardest. Tears were left to fall rather than wiped away by a caring hand. Scrapes and cuts and welts were left to be tended by Rhonan himself rather than a guardian’s gentle touch. There was no coddling in the relationship between Rhonan and his parents - they were training him to survive. The only time there was any closeness among his family was when stories of eras long past were told from the carvings on their city-tree. Tales of Cathar Jedi who fought ancient Sith Lords; heroes of myth and legend. It was in those stories that Rhonan found solace from the harshness of his upbringing. How he dreamed of meeting one of these Jedi, with their boundless wisdom and swords of light; to traverse the mantle of the stars as one of them, cutting down those who would harm the innocent.

With his peers and siblings, Rhonan found camaraderie. They would play and roughhouse among the sprawling branches of their city-tree in the shadow it cast over the land. Armed with twigs and their imaginations, they played out their favorite sagas with great flourish and fanfare.

Alas, these were the dreams of a boy.

The Wild Child
War came to Cathar once more, a Mandalorian raid swept down on Rhonan's city-tree, its people scattered into the spanning savannah. There, they were hunted by Mandalorian Separatists as well as the savage beasts of the wild world. Rhonan, along with a score of his kin, were apprehended within a week of the attack. Caged like beasts, they were shipped to some forsaken moon in the Outer Rim, where the longest arms of galactic law could not reach them - or simply did not care.

On that cold and barren rock, Rhonan and his fellow captives were subjected to crushing physical and psychological torture. Each of them steadily broken for shackles or cast aside for target practice. Secluded in complete darkness, Rhonan was isolated from the others - his cell little more than a cage fit for a tusk cat cub. The only light he saw for weeks was the crackling of an electrowhip in the hand of his tormentor. Rhonan the child broke under the assault. Rhonan the savage was born in order to cope.

In the slave camps, only the strong survived. Rhonan scavenged and, in time, killed in self-preservation. Bonds of fellowship came undone under the pressure of their surroundings, turning blood against blood. In a handful of years, Rhonan was cold, starving, and all alone. The abuse continued, and Rhonan was slowly being devolved into something twisted and horrible. Understanding of speech started to slip, culture that he had only a briefest chance to experience was burned away by searing pain. Instinct became Rhonan’s greatest ally, keeping him alive until the intervention of the Star-Warriors with their swords of light, just like in the boy’s fleeting dreams.

When Rhonan was discovered by the Jedi Master Hlodovic, he was a sickly and emaciated creature who could hardly keep himself upright. Despite his sorry state, he attacked the trooper that opened his cage with surprising physical strength and ferocity. In order to prevent Rhonan from doing any additional harm to his rescuers, or himself, he was stunned and loaded into a medical capsule. With the boy inert, proper medical examinations were in order.

It was estimated that the Cathar cub’s surface body was somewhere around ten percent scar tissue, and that he had been subjected to a broad spectrum of barbaric and inhumane treatment that would break most adults. The Jedi present, who would later become the cub’s master, sensed a great and terrible well-spring of Force power in the boy. At his age, many of the memories of what he had endured could be easily repressed, but that was a band-aid solution. One day, he would need to confront the ugliness of his founding.

Recovery
Becoming a full-time resident at the Jedi’s medical wing for a time was about as exciting as it sounds. For several weeks, Rhonan was bound to his bed, forced to be still while galactic medicine did its work. It was almost a month until he could eat solid food, and two more weeks after that until he started to open up and speak with the Jedi.

In total, it was a rough thirteen months of physical recovery with the assistance of advanced galactic medicine every step of the way. In little over a year, the cub had gone from nearly sub-sentient to almost fully healed. Whether from medicine, the Force, or Catharese stubbornness, what mattered was that Rhonan had recovered, at least physically. After that period, Rhonan was finally considered physically capable of beginning his Jedi training. With nowhere to go and no idea if his kin still lived, Rhonan saw no other option. His childhood dream was upon him, but he wondered if it was worth the price…

Only time would tell…

Initiated
Like all Younglings in the Jedi, Rhonan was subjected to the fundamentals of the Order. However, there was a constant shadow hanging over him. Due to the corrupting nature his time in captivity could have on an individual’s psyche, Rhonan was placed on a probationary period by the Masters. The cub was closely monitored by his teachers, fearing that the dark side lingered far too closely to the cub’s heart.

Naturally, young Rhonan was fearful of the new environment of the Jedi, and the new people he was slow to trust, but they showed him no ill will. The first few weeks, Rhonan remained solitary, not wishing to speak with the other Younglings, or even associate with them, but over time the walls came down. Slowly, Rhonan opened up to those around him, acting more like a child his age. Through socializing with his fellow Younglings and entirely dedicating himself to his studies, Rhonan kept the lingering specters of trauma in the corners of his consciousness.

Rhonan’s probationary period lasted through the majority of his training, gauging if he was mentally fit and properly self-disciplined enough to begin his training with a lightsaber. If Rhonan did not display that he could adhere to the Jedi’s doctrine in the absolute, he would not be permitted to train with a lightsaber, and in turn not have a chance at the Trials. This close monitoring went on for several years, however Rhonan had shown no indication of succumbing to his demons. The boy was resilient and stubborn to the very last, and when asked why his past did not scare him, he simply answered,

“Because if I stand like prey, I am prey,”

Unorthodox, but satisfactory, Rhonan was permitted to partake in the physical aspects of the Youngling curriculum at long last. Despite being six months behind in his studies, he caught on quick, and swiftly found his lot. The Jedi’s various physical and mental conditioning exercises had prepared Rhonan for the six pillars of lightsaber training in spades. Having entered puberty early - around the age of ten - Rhonan sprouted and filled out quickly, forced to constantly get new uniforms as he outgrew the old ones.

Initiate Trials
While Rhonan would like to say that he passed the Initiate Trials with flying colors, that would not be the whole truth. While he excelled at the practical application of his lessons - especially in the rote repetition of the Jedi Code and physical execution of lightsaber forms - Rhonan struggled with the great focus that was required in the sustained Force tests. To hold three cups aloft without spilling their contents for thirty seconds was immensely taxing on Rhonan, though he managed to toss his sparring partner across the room with a focused thrust of kinetic energy.

Narrowly passing due to his fumbling in the Focus test, Rhonan’s strengths and weaknesses as a Padawan were laid bare. They were not so great as to be beyond repair with diligence and practice, though.

The Learner's Path
To be determined…

ABILITIES
[fancybox2]
holocron01.jpg
Force Powers
Where others of his skill level usually have a harder time manipulating larger, denser objects, Rhonan is the inverse. When using the Force to manipulate objects in the world around him, Rhonan operates in broad strokes, often with more energy than would be considered necessary, but the results are something of note. He would find it easier to toss a full waste dumpster than softly lift a cup of water and hold it aloft without spilling it's contents.

Skills
Crude "Brawler" Hand-to-Hand:
■■■■■■■■■■
Essentially self-taught, there is little artistry or form to Rhonan’s unarmed combat. It is unrefined, but effective against the layman or the uninitiated. Such a savage method of hand-to-hand is made more effective by Rhonan’s retractable claws and notable upper body strength.

Hunting and Tracking:
■■■■■■■■■■
Utilizing his predator’s senses, Rhonan can track a quarry with relative ease. Granted, well trained prey is often the most elusive, and should one have the forethought to cover their tracks and/or mask their scent, it will make Rhonan’s job that much harder.

Basic Survival (Wilderness):
■■■■■■■■■■
Rhonan knows enough about survival to make it on his own for a few days in the wild, provided the environment in question has enough material present to make shelter and bountiful enough to stay fed and hydrated.

Novice Piloting:
■■■■■■■■■■
Should Rhonan find himself behind the handlebars of a speederbike, he can manage well enough to probably not become a messy stain on the passing terrain. Until he gets more exposure and practice, it is not recommended to have Rhonan be responsible for a starship of any kind.

LIGHTSABER and SWORD FORMS
[fancybox4="http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk215/agnulfr/IMG_7913-1024x768_zpspzovhgma.jpg"]
Rhonan’s lightsaber hilt is a humble durasteel frame, 13 inches from pommel to emitter. With a standard kyberr focus crystal and a standard blue blade. The saber is nothing special or flashy - perfect for a Padawan.

Form V: Shien/Djem So:
■■■■■■■■■■
Of all the lightsaber forms to start out with, Form V proved to be the best form to compliment Rhonan’s natural talents and proclivities. Given his natural physical strength, the Djem So variant proved to be an easy fit. Inversely, his feline dexterity and hand-eye coordination made Shien an appropriate defensive technique for him to begin with.
Form I: Shii-Cho:
■■■■■■■■■■

The bedrock of fundamentals for Jedi swordsmanship. Composing pillars on which Rhonan's martial studies are based, the Padawan was schooled in Shii-Cho during his Youngling years and the first few years under Master Hlodovic. While he is loathe to use the basic strikes alone, Rhonan knows enough of the forms to adapt his preferred methods of lightsaber combat to the situations at hand.

Mari Kiai
[fancybox4="http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/e/ef/Lassa_Rhayme.png/revision/latest?cb=20150724124732"]FULL NAME: Mari Kiai
AGE: 27
SPECIES: Pantoran

HEIGHT: 1.7 meters (5'6")
WEIGHT: 135 pounds

EYE COLOR: Pale gold
HAIR COLOR: Pale pastel violet; tied into a half-up topknot with the rest falling to her shoulders.
SKIN COLOR: Lilac blue
MARKINGS: Yellow Pantoran tattoos, scar on left brow

FACTION: Jedi Order
RANK: Jedi Knight

Mari stands at an average height for a Pantoran woman of her breeding, though she is more lean than most other females of her species would be at her age. Her skin is a lovely shade of lilac, complimented by her brilliant eyes of beaten gold and the silken locks of her platinum hair. As all Pantoran adults, Mari’s face bears symmetrical geometric tattoos in a muted yellow color that matches her eyes.
Below her eyes, two tapered bars follow the contour of her cheekbones, a third triangular shape angled towards her chin, points down. Between her silver eyebrows is a narrow dot of color, marking her love of the intellectual. Considering herself a vogue woman despite the general austere mannerisms of the Jedi, Mari shadows her eyes with a deep, dark violet while touching her lips with a lighter shade of gloss.
When on mission, Mari does up her hair into a tight bun at the crown of her head, fastened by a band of metallic beads, keeping the rest at a manageable shoulder length. Her bangs are long, but controlled, favoring additional length and volume to the left in order to cover the scar on her temple.

Mari's Jedi robes are of a particularly fine make. With an undertunic of pleated, milky silk and a tunic of patterned silver silk, she makes hardly a noise when she moves. The knee-length tunic sports wide sleeves, its hems and collar embroidered with a muted purple the color of thistle. Complimenting her skin tone, Mari's tabard and obi are made of a thick, yet lightweight fabric the color of amber. Mari's trousers match her tunic, bearing the same embroidery down the pleats in a floral design, its color matching her tunics collar and tucked neatly into polished brown leather boots that match her belt. Rather than wearing a robe, Mari prefers a hooded cape, fastened with silver buckles.

STRENGTH:
■■■■■■■■■■

Mari is above average strength in part to her lifetime among the Jedi, but hers is a physique of lean muscle, meant more for endurance than raw power.

DEXTERITY:
■■■■■■■■■
In a word, Mari is graceful. She moves with the confidence and poise of a dancer, seemingly perched on the balls of her feet at all times. Her speed, balance, hand-eye coordination, and general agile athleticism make her a skilled duelist and pilot.

CONSTITUTION:
■■■■■■■■■■
A lifetime of exercise and balanced eating have left Mari in perfect health. She has a few scars from her foolhardy days, but they no longer cause her any anguish.

INTELLIGENCE:
■■■■■■■■■■
Spending much of her spare time in the Jedi Archives when she was a Youngling and a Padawan, Mari has a bookish intellect and considerable tactical skill.

WISDOM:
■■■■■■■■■■
Time, practice, and experience have made Rhein cautious and wise, if not wary. She knows enough about the galaxy at large to not take anyone at their word, and is as ready to shake hands as she is to come to blows.

CHARISMA:
■■■■■■■■■■
Mari has been around the block enough to know how to deal with different groups of people. When politicking is required, as well as when she would find herself behooved to show some skin. When it comes to those of particularly low intelligence or devoid of culture, she grows very curt and terse. At that point, her book-smarts give her the satisfaction of insulting people with language they likely wouldn’t comprehend without a thesaurus.
[/fancybox2]

PERSONALITY
[fancybox2]

Confident, cool-headed, and collected. Mari has been from one side of the galaxy to the other, and she likes to think that nothing could surprise her anymore. Part of her may be right, but the hives of villainy and cesspits of scum in the universe always manage to impress, at the very least. Even so, Mari prefers to approach a situation with a pleasant air of confidence, professionalism, and intellectual integrity, regardless of whether she is outclassed or not. If her time playing Jedi-babysitter and political retainer taught Mari anything, it is that posture and poise alone can defuse a situation. If not, it’ll give you a leg up in a fight if the enemy thinks you unflappable.

Every part the intellectual, Mari will be drawn to puzzles, enigmas, and paradoxes. Her curiosity remains one of the few things that has not been weathered or worn over the years, remaining as bright and inquisitive as her youngling self, at times. In return, individuals of bone-dry intelligence or solely cultured by bacteria bore and infuriate her. Because of this, she is loathe to travel to worlds like Tatooine or Nar Shadaa.

BIOGRAPHY
[fancybox4="https://thewookieegunner.files.wordpress.com/2015/04/star-wars-celebration-anaheim-untold-clone-wars-pantora.jpg"]
Born to Pantora, Mari had little recollection of her home world until she was able to visit with her Master while on a mission. She knew of her home culture enough to idealize and embody it in particular aspects, but she was devoid of context for many years.

Her parents were notable socialites in the Republic political networks, it was a boost in their status to find that their only daughter was Force Sensitive. While they would have preferred to keep her on as a political asset, as well as a pawn for political marriage, Mari’s Master found the young girl and presented to her a choice: stay on Pantora or become a Jedi. Selecting the latter with hardly any hesitation, the Jedi spirited her away to begin her training.

After her core and fundamental Jedi training had been concluded, as it is with all new blood to the Order, Mari’s Master began to hone her strengths and compensate for her shortcomings. For what she lacked in raw physical power, Mari made up for it with athleticism and agility, tempering her physical edge with cunning and her love of the intellectual. Once these matters were figured out, Mari’s Master began to instruct her in combat piloting, galactic politics, galactic history, anthropology, and dueling.

Developing under this tutelage, Mari developed tastes for the finer parts of high life… so long as she didn’t have to associate with the people there. Once old enough to strike out on her own, she tended scientific conventions, political summits, and fencing tournaments; she did not compete or participate in the beginning, but she simply wanted to ingrain herself in that lifestyle. Many in the Temple on Lothal said that Mari would be a prime candidate for a Librarian or Archivist, but while such a position may be prodigious, it was devoid of the one great joy of the galaxy - exploration. So she became a Knight like her Master before her, continuing her scholastic endeavors in the belief that the treasures of ages passed may grant insight or edge on terminating the plague of the Sith once and for all.

Force Powers
Finesse and control are Mari's tools in all things, the Force included. Patience, discipline, and a cunning mind make Mari a potent Force User, able to manipulate even malleable matter, like water, with intense concentration. While she may not be keeping ships from taking off with her mind, she can pinpoint the rivets and bolts on a droid and dismantle them with an effort of will.

Skills
Echani:
■■■■■■■■■■
Though Mari prefers to have her lightsaber in hand when it comes to violence in personal space, she was trained to a notable extent in the martial art of Echani. Focusing on a particular Echani discipline, Mari can overpower and even throw enemies twice her size by using their own weight and momentum against them.

Piloting:
■■■■■■■■■■
While not quite an ace pilot, Mari is quite skilled at piloting in and out of atmosphere, and is a remarkably quick study to new kinds of ship and how they run.

Marksmanship:
■■■■■■■■■
Regarding blasters, Mari is an above-average shot. She often views shootouts and uncivilized and would prefer to not get involved, but when push comes to shove, she can find a man's heart with a blaster bolt as seventy yards.

Fully aware of the weaknesses that come with Makashi, Mari trained in Soresu to increase her defensive capabilities. While the curved-hilt saber doesn't lend itself to sustained defenses, Soresu allows Mari to whether the storm of her enemy until she can capitalize on a mistake and turn the tide.
Form I: Shii-Cho:
■■■■■■■■■■
Like many other Jedi, Mari has built upon her preliminary teachings in Shii-Cho with the more advanced and specialized Forms and techniques. She knows enough of the Form to teach it and use it competently in combat, but she loathes the overly-rooted style.

Maxal Rako
[fancybox4="http://i883.photobucket.com/albums/ac40/stixarqstones/ZabrakTrooper.jpg"]FULL NAME: Maxal Rako
AGE: 30
SPECIES: Zabrak

HEIGHT: 1.77 meters (5'8")
WEIGHT: 175 pounds

EYE COLOR: Pale green
HAIR COLOR: Hazel
SKIN COLOR: Sun-kissed bronze
MARKINGS: Zabrak full-body tattoos

FACTION: Independant
RANK: "Gun-Hand"

Sure, Maxal may not be the tallest guy in any room, but he'll never be one to tolerate being looked down upon. With broad shoulders and bronzed skin pulled tight over steely ridges of sinew, Maxal stands like a man who knows exactly what he is good at. With a brow that is often pensive at rest, he'll often be found chomping on the smoking butt of a cigarra and wearing his carbon-weaved flight leathers, armorweave duster, and tastefully wide-brimmed hat. Maxal's flight suit is criss-crossed with harnesses, straps, and holsters for all manner of weapon that operate with a trigger. Wrapped at his waist is a sash of braided maroon chord with black-and-maroon kamas, indicating his friendly relation with the Accord, but not naming him as a direct affiliate.

PERSONALITY
[fancybox2]

Maxal Rako is a realist. He's seen too much and done too much in his freelancing days to be anything but. Having broken every bone in his body at least twice and something of a resistance to adrenaline thanks to his spice days, Maxal has a caviler attitude towards danger and bodily harm. Rather than wising up, he is often one to seek out a tougher fight in hopes of getting that high again. While that may be a riskier way to live life, Maxal at least does so smartly, and with neigh-unflappable calm. Bombs could be dropping ten feet away and Maxal will hardly flinch, if only to keep his hat from getting snatched by the shockwave.

That's it for "Character 1". He is to be considered a WIP until it gets admin approval in the next Timeline. Until then, comments, suggestions, and critiques are welcome and encouraged.

This character will need a Master at the start of the next Timeline, which will require some planning and collaboration to integrate backstories. In the next Timeline, flashback threads are also an option.

Hey dude, just letting you know that your layout is cut off by the right of the screen, might want to try making the outer box smaller. How's this look:

Rhonan Tor
[fancybox4="http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk215/agnulfr/Rhonan_Padawan_BustII_zpscuzre6vx.png"]FULL NAME: Rhonan Tor
AGE: 16
SPECIES: Cathar

HEIGHT: 1.8 meters (5’11”) and still growing
WEIGHT: 178 lbs

ATTRIBUTES
[fancybox2]
W9diL.jpg
STRENGTH:

[/fancybox2]

PERSONALITY

BIOGRAPHY
[fancybox4="http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/e/e8/Oldrepublic_27_10.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20081205063748"]

Force Push/Pull/Telekinesis: Where others of his skill level usually have a harder time manipulating larger, denser objects, Rhonan is the inverse. When using the Force to manipulate objects in the world around him, Rhonan operates in broad strokes, often with more energy than would be considered necessary. He would find it easier to toss a full waste dumpster than softly lift a cup of water and hold it aloft without spilling it.

Force Jump: Amplifying the thick chords of muscle in his legs with the Force, Rhonan is able to increase his jumping and leaping distances, as well as absorb the shock from falls that would otherwise cause some minor trauma.

Force Sense: Something that Rhonan had discovered on his own early on, though he had no idea what it meant at the time. Opening himself to the Force, Rhonan uses the vitalizing current to amplify his already heightened senses, as well as the faint “sixth sense” the Jedi are known for.

[/fancybox2]

LIGHTSABER and SWORD FORMS
[fancybox4="http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk215/agnulfr/IMG_7913-1024x768_zpspzovhgma.jpg"]

@StormWolf Interesting read man. I'm curious if you could tell me more about the Mando Separatists from your backstory as I'd like to add them into the lore of the Mandos.

I find your characters backstory to be interesting. I think you, Jabon's Vera Rosh, and my Jedi should all do a thread together. I like how you have him as a jack of all trades with his stats and have left him relatively under developed in that area. Gives plenty of room to grow, which I'm sure will be quite interesting. You did well on personality and strengths and weaknesses as well.

All in all, this is an excellent starting point for your character. Can't wait to see how he develops in the future! :)

@Ral Aran I presently have them pegged as Clan Krayt and a few other sympathizers who split off when the Mandalorian government became part of the BA. So Mando ISIS, to put it plainly. "The old ways we're so much better, even though they kinda sucked for everyone else," types. I never expected them to be integrated into lore or culture, but if that is the case I'd leave the actual name of this organization to the Mandos themselves, as all Rhonan has to go by is the Krayt brand on his arm.

I'd brown for RP, of course. Especially if the others involved are foils of Rhonan's personality in some way. And I wanted to get across that he is just a Padawan at this point, albeit a strong one. Once he makes it to Knight, he could be a complete nightmare to fight against, depending on what he learns.

Thanks for the feedback, man!

Interesting that you're keeping him Padawan level still for next timeline. He has a great background and seems about ready to be a Knight. What's pushing you to do the learner rather than a newly promoted knight?

One suggestion could be augmenting your hunting with the force like Quinlan Vos. Psychometric tracking is probably what you were going for here, but just wanted to point out a canon example.

In any case, excited to see where you take him.

@Bauren Well, I made Rhonan a Padawan for a few reasons. Primarily, character growth - both narratively and mechanically - will be greater when earned. So when Rhonan becomes a Knight, he'll be a force of nature to be reckoned with. Secondly, I've come back from a lengthy hiatus and wanted to ease my way into the fold again. Thirdly, I firmly believe the "Padawan" phase to be extremely important. When I played earlier in the present timeline, what happened to Rhonan as a Padawan shaped him as a Knight in ways I could never have expected.

Thanks for the suggestion, by the way. I originally had a few Force abilities listed, but after the announcement of the more free-flow approach to the Force I decided to just describe his "too stronk" association with the Force at present.

I just want to say that Cathar is life, Cathar is love. I'll be creating a Cathar in the Border Alliance this week and would love for us to be able to do a thread sometime.

Second character is up, so shameless self-bump.
