That's how slugthrowers are handled, FWIW. Same as blasters for all intents and purposes, minus the deflect back property.

Interesting, I was under the impression that slugthrowers did significantly less damage than blasters as a balancing thing this TL. I guess I'll keep that in mind then

Not that aaaanyone needs my thoughts, But at the very least the following modifications made to particle tech would make not only logical sense, but also appropriate nerfing IMHO

-There is no flash effect
-The less stable, yet over charged energy beam = %60 Range & Ammo capacity
-cannot be applied to anything less than a carbine
-Cannot be applied to fully automatic fire, (3 round burst is fine)

That to me seems like a balance to this tech that wouldn't do much game changing, in fact it would only be truly useful perhaps to militia's or small security forces like czerka to ..... oh wait. yeah this tech seems unnecessary.

Well, that's the current ruling by Clayton, at least in the write-ups on this board. Slugthrowers do a lot less damage.

I like these changes. What about speed compared to a blaster bolt?

I can take a look into the speed. Given that blasters are already pretty I would imagine they might be a bit slower.

Blaster bolts already move alot slower than bullets. Slowing down a particle blaster would make it more equivalent to an arrow than a bullet, and much easier to dodge. Which isn't a bad thing, in my book. Just makes it more of a close quarters weapon.

Did we already have a ruling about bullets and blaster bolts being the same speed? I remember laughing about 70 mph bullets.

Just to clarify, but the approach we have is that in terms of speed, the official line is that blaster bolts and projectiles functionally behave the same way. Whether you want to headcanon that as projectiles are much slower or blaster bolts are much faster is up to you, of course, but functionally from a gameplay perspective we just say that there's no inherent advantage of one over the other on the ground of the actual ammunition being any faster, since that caused all kinds of headaches in the past.

There's some misconception here. This shouldn't produce any more flash than lightsaber on lightsaber contact. There are more wavelengths to the EM spectrum than just visible light. This is still good tech.
