It would be typical of a Jedi to not see the bigger picture. The spirit that held them under the ichor's power had weakened as the Jedi Master severed the spirit from its physical being, of course it would be a corpse, but Maeve could not decide if the result was a relief or brought her a dissatisfaction. She felt her thumb flick over the switch of her lightsaber, having ready to defend the Forgotten and Dathomir, but with her own will, she felt the hesitation in her attempt to gain control over her own thoughts and actions. However, it would seem it would all end quickly. As power of the ichor weakened and eventually dissipated from their bodies, Maeve felt herself gasp for a breath, the feeling as though she were being held under water for a moment too long, the reality setting in as she could feel herself ready to ignite her blade.

However, the Forgotten was not done, though she were to be finally severed from the living, it became clear she was indeed speaking of truth about the Entity. The heaviness of the darkness was nothing she ever felt before, even with her own experiences in the dark side, she was uncertain if this were something she should attempt to bring under her grasp of the dark arts. Regardless, Maeve was not ready to find out, her own inner voice told her this was not going to help her in her quest for knowledge and power as she could feel the cold tendrils of the unknown. But the Forgotten would make one last sacrifice as she would leave forever, weakening the Entity...for now.

Maeve scowled at the Jedi in the room, she felt rather uncomfortable, exhausted even as she looked around for an exit. Being in the presence of so many Jedi was not ideal. One of them happened to be talking to her as she referenced her as Extra Crispy, which was enough of a spark to burn. She painfully dug her nails into her palm as she tightened her fists, but upon hearing the other Sith was waiting outside, from what it sounded, waiting for a fight, this would be of course the most urgent. She wasn't in a mood to interact nicely even with her own brethren especially after the nonsense with a power unfamiliar to the dark side as she known, and after being covered in worm guts, Dathomir could burn for all she cared.

To Darmus' relief the woman was alright.. better yet, she was doing much better than he ever had after tanking so many blaster bolts. Last time he was shot he spend days recuperating with bacta patches and sprays. Was she Matukai.. and a Jedi? Karking Kriff, where did all these Jedi and Sith come from? A few years ago it was just the Sector Rangers against the Five Syndicates. It was simpler and...

The sound of glass shattering from above also caught Darmus' attention and just like Nykoria he looked up and watch two individuals fall down. If anything Force-related was happening, the old ranger was only half-registering it as the closer the falling individuals came the more they.. "It's the Chief," he gasped. He figured Douglas Hudson had perished in the initial blast, but..

Before Darmus could properly wrap his brain around all of it the two landed with a heavy thud. Kori rushed over and shouted for a medic, so Darmus did the only thing he could and he grabbed his radio "Chief Hudson needs immediate medical attention!-" he continued to give them his location, forgetting to mention that there was another in need of medical attention. Finally he, too, approached the chief and his falling companion, "Chief?" he asked, carefully looking for signs of life, "Help is underway."

The spirit's hold on her waned even as she attacked. Perhaps it was part of the reason why she was thrown aside so easily, like a child tossing aside a doll. She tumbled several feet before coming to rest on the ground. The spirit groaned as she came to rest before her body suddenly tensed. Without the Forgotten's power, the bright green hue in Altina's eyes faded as the spirit was ejected from her body.

Altina gasped for air for a few moments as she got back on her knees. She drew both hands into fists on front of her, squeezing tight before relaxing. The spirit is gone. She felt something drip from her brow as she sniffled and wiped it with a hand. Blood.

She looked over at the masters, but the dark tendrils snaking their way towards her caught her attention first. Summoning her lightsaber back into hand and reigniting it, Altina swung at the closest one, to no avail. With the Force, Altina leaped away from it. The flowing blood forced her to shut one eye as she landed.

After deactivating and clipping her lightsaber back onto her belt, Altina used both hands to try to stop the tendrils from coming any close. They shuddered under her telekinetic grip, but crept slowly closer anyways. The padawan took a deep breath and focused even harder, thinking it's just her own limitations that kept the tendrils from being completely stopped in their tracks. But the tendrils continued to come closer.

"Help," she croaked as blood continued down her face. "Someone."

Indie's words casted Felix's eyes down as he felt the forgottens grip weakening on him then disappeared, he turned around to see Hannibal's blade in the sarcophagus. So that was it, it was over he thought deactivating his lightsaber, or at least that’s what he thought until he noticed out the corner of his eye something moving in the shadows and his breath condensating in the rapidly cooling air.

He turned to face the movement saw in the shadows only to realise something wasn’t moving in the shadows but it was the shadows themselves. Felix froze at seeing the tendrils, paralysed in the realisation of what it was, as tendril approached him, he started his feet found life again as he began to back away from it until he tripped on the rubble and it was about to reach for him until the Forgotten pour the planet’s ichor at the entity. Watching it burn and hiss as it recoiled back to whence it came.

Felix continued to stare at the spot where the tendril came from, zoning out to things around him until Indie addressed him with the “you”. He heard her words but he wasn’t listening to them, his mind was elsewhere trying to process what he had just witnessed.

All was chaos. And though they began to move the wounded, more comms were buzzing in. Where were the other doctors? Were the Rangers so incompetent that they couldn't manage their own wounded without working medics to the ground? Her first priority was to her partner, both in work and in romantic interest. And yet more reports were flooding in. She did the best she could with other emergency vehicles coming in to aid the wounded Jedi calling for help (@Phoenix , @Catbert , @Phantom ), as well as reports of Chief Douglas, for which she patched through to the remaining medics for immediate transport with the Jedi that... what?

Caught him from midair and managed to break their fall somehow.

She wasn't even going to question it anymore, but instead carried on.

Even though her entire body ached with the need to sleep, to replenish what she'd used combatting the Sith, she couldn't yet. All the wounded would have medics come to their aid, to the closest medical bays afforded to them. Overseen by her critical eye, she wouldn't rest until all of the critical were stable and the last Ranger out alive, but... she wasn't going to leave his side yet.

She was no longer fit to perform as a physician, so instead she became triage management. And with the marines' help, those that required immediate aid would be offered rapid medical transport.

She had so much more to do, and no time to rest. Yet, her stomach writhed with the pain and the emotional outburst that screamed through the Force, unnerving her quiet control of empathy. She let in a deep, shuddery breath, entire body trembling with the sheer effort to maintain stubborn control of her own emotions, trying to wall everything else out. But she was starting to slip.

It hurts. It hurts so much.

Nar Shaddaa

Nara nodded at the Mandalorian's request, reaching out as she meditated. Her communicator had been wrecked in the sewage, muck and fighting, but no Jedi needed mere electronics to alert others. Those approaching would be able to feel it too, but that didn't matter. It wasn't like they weren't aware of her already. An urgent pulse through the Force, through the Light that she gave off, reaching out into the sewers and beyond.

They are here. Hurry.

Without looking at the others around her, she spoke to them. "Don't relent. Don't listen to them. Hit them with everything you've got. They will show you no mercy."

The words that slithered into her ear hardened her resolve. She rammed the fear down inside her, eyes opening into a sharp glare down at that red glow.

"You should've slithered off this moon while you still could, and taken your lackeys with you," Nara said quietly, but she had a suspicion that her words would reach the presence ahead of her. Almost in response to seeing the saber, she took her own from her belt and ignited it. Standing ready, the area around them all bathing in that rich, deep blue.

The dark-side energies rushed towards her and she braced herself, wincing as they buffeted and raced through her. Whispering wordless, harsh threats and trying to drain her. She tried to center herself, keeping her body still and her focus honed, but she managed to slip back just a bit with the force of that wave.

She stood across from the doorway, staring at the crimson-drenched forms ahead of her as they came closer, saber held in both hands across herself. If they tried anything, she'd get them. She wanted them closer. Right in the crossfire of her, the Mandalorian and the other Jedi.

"I am going to end you," she promised to the Sith, staring them down.

Helen Holcomb, ace pilot and self-professed rational thinker, found herself shooting at shadows.

The little Lepi pilot had never seen anything quite like the scene that had unfolded as she stayed back in the tunnel mouth, taking pot-shots at anyone who had come near with her blaster; a small group of sprawled thralls she had stunned into unconsciousness with her weapon attesting to the effectiveness of her uncivilized, coldly tactical style of fighting in what was essentially a semi-formalized melee. Even so, the way many of the combatants had used their energy blades was, well... majestic, in a word.

I gotta get me one of those. She had thought to herself, right before the shadows had begun to writhe in a way that had nothing to do with the light in the room. Almost immediately, and overwhelming dread had fallen over the Lepi; mind-controlled thralls and even alien ghosts, she could handle those, but there was... a wrongness to what was happening now. She could feel it on a level that went beyond physical perception.

Instinctually, she had raised her weapon and begun loosing bolts into the darkness, before the shade - in what must have been her final act - sent a wave of ichor that hissed and fizzed when it made contact with the darkness. Even when it did, and the presence began to retreat, she didn't stop shooting until her magazine clicked empty.

Eyes wide and trembling in terror, she sank to her knees, shaky hand instinctively fumbling for her smaller sidearm and drawing in unsteadily, though she did not point it or fire.

"The kriff was that?!"

Falynn watched the emergency vehicles race away. Relief swept over her as they became small specs in the distance, unhindered by enemy fire. It meant they were one step closer to safety, and that was what mattered. The wounded could get their care. The medics could get their rest. As for Falynn, she still had a job to do.

The female Ranger had chosen to stay behind, amid the devastation and the ruin. She‘d considered climbing into the ambulance once the wounded were loaded. After all, many of them had been in critical condition. Even Doctor Ilana herself had sustained a severe wound to her arm. With all the evacuees, there was no doubt her action could have been justified. But choosing to go meant leaving the rest behind. That alone was enough to give her pause. Caught between diverging paths, the medic had looked for where she was most needed and found the answer lay behind her.

Heading back inside, Falynn began to walk the grounds. Her priority was no longer to the evacuated but to whomever else was injured in the area. It seemed her only option was to seek for what she wished to find. The medic had only travelled a short distance before she received a call for help. Once she could pinpoint the location, Falynn ran towards the source of the call without hesitation. It was only as she drew nearer to the scene that she fully processed the relayed information and realized who the injured was.

Broken shards of glass littered the floor around not one, but two people on the ground. There were others present standing around the figures. Falynn approached them briefly stating her purpose. “I’m a medic. I’ll see what I can do.” Any further explanation could be given later, but now was not the time. Kneeling beside them, she quickly assessed their conditions. Her attention focused on the unconscious Chief. On the brink of death, but not yet dead. Even as she gathered enough information to determine her course of action, he was fading. “Stay with me now,” she murmured. Falynn would do everything in her ability to save the injured. If only it could be enough.

In what seemed to be a fit of pure spite, @Lorcan threw his vibrosword at the retreating Sith. An impressively aggressive response to a retreating enemy, and certainly one the old Sith could appreciate, a Force-enhanced Sith could sprint ten meters in around a second. The sword clattered to the ground impotently behind the man's heels as he fled, running down the hall and around the corner. There would be no satisfaction for Lorcan this time

The shadow @Talak Rand fought was an immaterial thing, but it was still a construct of the Force. Which meant his brief blast of telekinesis threw it well back, just before he dove through the window. The shadow did not follow, vanishing as Talak rushed to save Douglas from certain death. The wind rushed by Talak and the Chief as the former Sith Lord's efforts slowed them both, but if it wasn't for @Nykoria Tallis joining in with her own efforts, Talak would certainly be having a worse day. Cracked ribs and some bruising were a lot more mild than broken ribs, it could be said.

Under examination by both @Darmus Onn and @Falynn Tikarsis, Douglas did shows signs of life. He was breathing, although it was shallow, strained, and slightly rattled on account of having been smashed by a desk through a window and hitting the ground twenty stories down. Shards of glass left cuts and puncture wounds across his back, and he more than likely had a punctured lung, several broken ribs, and a multitude of other injuries. But he was still alive, and could be stabilized by the medics on hand to reach the nearest emergency hospital.

As far as anyone could tell, the enemy had gone. The snipers had been silent and out of sight for some time now, living soldiers and Sith had escaped and vanished, and the sounds of combat had quieted. What used to be the Ranger station smoldered quietly, the fires dying out and leaving only ash and embers behind. The sound of emergency sirens intensified as more vehicles approached backed by Home Fleet gunships to secure airspace.

Though many had died in the attack, the courageous and wrathful alike had defended and saved the lives of many more and prevented further harm. Chief Douglas was rescued from death, or worse, and several enemies had been taken down, never to rise again.

Leads had been gathered and seeds planted by @Nykoria Tallis and @Darmus Onn, hoping to track down the murderous invaders. Only time would tell where their paths would lead them or if they were prepared for what they were looking for.

The future is always uncertain, but for now, a brief moment of peace, recovery, and mourning for the fallen. May the Force be with us all.

The young padawan couldn't find another exit. This was the end of the road. There was no Sith. There was no further path. They would have to return the way that they had come and face whatever dangers may be on the return trip. Isen looked over his shoulder and saw his teacher, Izel Thral prepared to put this former Jedi out of his misery. Isen knew now, with no other path, that he die was cast for him. He also figured that with Izel's deep connection to the Force, and was far more likely to feel this man's life force, killing him would be harder on her than it would be Isen.

Isen nodded to his Master before taking his own lightsaber and cutting the lifesaving cords that connected him to the machines. He would die soon, and there would be no question that Izel's action would be a mercy and a service to this person. With a mixture of emotions about what he felt compelled to do, he disabled his lightsaber and made his way back through the hole through the door that he had created. He stared at the carnage of this room. The exploded, gooey, acidic remains of the Terentatek were splattered all over the room. Isen ran a thumb over the obsidian stone that the beast had left behind, unsure of what it was or if it would ever be needed. He did not forsee these types of decisions needing to be made when he started his Jedi journey. Here he would wait on Izel Thral, the deed would be done. And hopefully, they would meet up safely with their allies that they started this mission with them.

Izel nodded to Isen as he cut the cords. Well that was that, he was a dead man now. All that was left to do was finish him mercifully. As her Padawan exited the room she turned her attention back to the Jedi on the table, taking one of his hands in hers. As much as time was of the essence, some respect was still due to a fallen comrade. "I'm sorry." She told him softly. "We will put an end to this I swear it. No one else will suffer what you have endured. May you be one with the Force." She pressed her pike to the underside of his chin and ignited the blade, hopefully killing him instantly and painlessly. After extinguishing her lightsaber once more Izel took a moment to check the Jedi's pulse, to ensure he was no more. Once satisfied she turned and left the chamber herself.

Outside she found her apprentice waiting for her, and was gripped by a sudden pulse of disbelief. "Why are you still here?" She cried, although her tone indicated more desperation then outright anger at her Padawan. "I told you to go on ahead of me to regroup with the others! Did you not hear?" With an exasperated huff she summoned the Force again, though her energy reserves were running dry, and augmented her limbs so she could move more quickly. "Come on! I can already feel the Sith presence we have to get back to Nara!"

With that she broke into the fastest sprint she could manage in her current state. She didn't know how useful she'd be in a fight as she was, but she'd throw everything she had left at the enemy, if she only got the chance. Isen she knew would be able to put up a much better fight. He was less injured and skilled with the lightsaber, but his hesitation had cost him valuable time. Hopefully now he would be willing to rush ahead of her and engage the Sith, though she had no idea what lied ahead. It could already be too late.

The moment @Izel Thral's lightsaber pierced Hynsa Bekk's chin his eyes opened again. There was no fear there, only relief, and not but a second later he would be dead. The force would envelop Hynsa's body and Izel would feel its presence. It was sharp and bright, but somehow still calming.

The beaten, bruised and battered body of Hynsa would fade before Izel's eyes, becoming one with the force. While it may have seemed like a small act of kindness to relieve Hysna from his tortured existence, Izel's choice to kill the Jedi would have entirely unforeseeable ramifications. Although she didn't know it, Izel likely just saved the lives of each of her friends, as well as countless innocent lives across the galaxy.

--

Flood couldn't help but cackle madly at Nara's words of defiance. Leave it up to a young Jedi to have more bravery than brains. Pulling the darkside into himself, Flood raised his hand towards Nara and unleashed a intense crackling mass of force lightning directly towards her chest.

Flood was still a little bit away from Nara so his attack wouldn't hit her immediately. Just as the lighting would come within a meter of her body, it would suddenly fizzle and die like a speeder that ran out of fuel. Should Nara look towards Flood to see what happened, her eyes would fall upon a.. unexpected and peculiar sight.

Unbeknownst to Flood, the many years and countless hours he'd spent harvesting the blood of Hynsa Bekk had caused him to develop a perverted force bond with the Jedi. Even though he'd never admit it, all of Flood's accomplishments would have been impossible without Hynsa and this connection he'd forged with the Jedi would be his ultimate undoing.

The instant Izel's lightsaber pierced Hynsa's skull, Flood would have the same feeling under his own chin. He'd pointlessly reach towards his throat as his brain raced to discern what was happening before stumbling clumsily and falling. Flood was dead before he hit the ground.

The reaper of Nar Shaddaa's unceremonious death marked the end of this planet's nightmare. Without their leader piloting the hivemind, the remaining beasts in the sewer and on the surface would quickly start tearing each other apart. It wouldn't take long for them to all kill each other.

The darkside energies that Flood had cultivated inside the sewers reacted violently to his death. A surge coursed through the durasteel, shaking the very ground beneath everyone's feet. It would be clear that the labratory was starting to collapse, which left those that remained with an interesting choice.

Would they continue to fight and likely make this place their tomb in the name of justice - or would they flee, living to fight another day?

Nara held her position, seeing the lightning flash before her. She moved to try and intercept it with her saber, girding herself. Expecting to struggle, wondering if it her saber would hold. It was too late to back down or run off though. Then... then...

Then it died. And Nara stood, open mouted as she watched the Sith clutch his throat, the life fading from his eyes. He fell to the ground, dead, and Nara just stared. Stared and stared and stared.

What in the actual...

The surge shook her from her thoughts as she felt everything around her move. Dust and dirt tumbled from the ceiling above them all. Nara closed her mouth as she realised what was happening. They didn't have long and Nara had decided that she'd spent entirely too much time in these sewers. The temptation was to rush for whatever lay beyond Flood and the other Sith, to grab whatever she could about the disease... but she didn't think she'd have time. Fighting two other Sith was not a great idea when the place was about to collapse around you.

And there were always other ways to discover what you wanted to know...

Thinking quickly, Nara reached out with her left hand, attempting to pull Flood's lightsaber towards her. No matter the outcome, Nara turned on her heel and set off running, back towards the sewers she'd slugged through earlier.

"RUN!" she yelled to the others, her own saber ready for whatever creatures and monsters she'd have to cut through to get out. Drawing energy from the hope that this was almost over, wishing that the infected would be too busy tearing each other into fleshy lumps to focus too much on them.

Seeing the crimson blade of the Sith, Minerva aimed at the illuminated foe. However, the Flood’s dark side wave took her by surprise. Knocking her back several feet the mercenary hit the floor wincing in the pain and her mind besieged by dreaded voices.

Biting her lips underneath the t-visor to keep herself from screaming out in pain the warrior attempted to get up. The voices spoke in an ancient and terrible tongue that threatened to drive her mad. No I won’t die begging. She silently vowed to herself, mouth bleeding as she struggled to keep her teeth locked on her lips.

Just as soon as it happened the voices stopped. Still in pain but mind Minerva looked up in utter shock as the Flood laid on the ground dead. Manda what’s going?! Subsequently the very sewers shook violently. Hearing Nara called out to run, Minerva didn’t need to be told twice.

As rubble started to collapse around them the Mandalorian ignited her jetpack flying backward toward where they came in from.
