I could never get into the 20 version, I started hating the system once TSR was bought out .

as it is right now I'm running a D6 campaign over MSN that continues the first time line ( well 20 years after ) Using Messanger plus and the advanced die roller script makes it work, and I can make images, or record audio files " like holocron recordings" and such to enhance the story telling....

but getting people to do tabletop.....Excellent

So... How would this work? If it doesn't seem too difficult then I might join in.

T'would be tough without a Die code, on plus! it's a simple:

"... The bounty hunter fires at Dalharil."
" Dal quickly brings up her lightsaber to deflect the bolt"
/roll 8d6+2

> rolls 8d6+2 -> [6+2+5+2+3+6+6+1]+2 -> 33

Then depending on however the npc roll you go from there:

and being msn I can go fast :D

Hahah, that looks like KOTOR if you watch the whole thing through the die rolls.

hehe sorta does... I try to focus on story telling as much as possible, as much player driven progression and character development.. the die, and number crunching is a mild technicality.. I've had too many GM's who are all about the number crunching and following a strict module.... and it just gets dull, like there is no " life" to what your playing.

so other than using die for combat and actions, most of it is played closer to a free form.

Yes. Not so much number crunching. More story. Right?

Yeah. I did like the d6 system, and I'd run a campaign if I could find the books. But I have Saga and I can make it work here. So who want to join?

A DM im working with now is like that. ALmost no story telling, almost all numbers and followign all of the rules completely. XP Its gotten a bit boring.

And JP Im probably interested.

with me it's: I present the story as I would here and let it free play around there.. perception, skills and combat need rolls... but my rule of thumb is the rolling should become almost not noticeable. If you are so caught up in in whats going on and can get attached to not only your character, but those in the group?, then I know it's going good.. I let the players have alot more freedom and work with what they give me.

Too many D&D campaigns I was in ended up like you mentioned, a lot of vampire ones too... I just felt that once you break immersion to spend 5 min calculating percentages ever 5 min in a fight ( which thats ALL there is) then why? where is that " ROLE playing?"
