I dont think we need to RP it out. Fake IDs aren't unheard of- I can point out a dozen people now who have fake IDs that would pass non-government tests and maybe half that who could fool a cop (assuming he didn't plug it into a computer). The Hutt Empire is home to some of the best criminals (slicers and hackers included), and can certainly forge documentation for our purposes.

Even if they claim we can't, then all we do is make a legitimate 'fake' ID within the Empire and have Darksaber pose as immigrants. They'll be issued new documentation when they go to Republic space, and a rally pointing out targeting of former Hutt-aligned aliens would be a reasonable place for them to be. We aren't going to be shooting people up- we're going to entice crowds to do that and let the NPCs do the real dirty work. Since we'll be using the Force or Zeltron sexiness, we're not doing anything overtly illegal and can walk out once the riot breaks past the point of needing us.

tl;dr-

I think starting in the riots is fine. We can specify in our first posts that each of us hired/influenced the speaker and say what we're doing. We'll mention we have false documentation (or legitimate ones for nonexistent people) and for the love of god specify that all our characters appear to be doing is watching, occasionally placing a well-said remark. The worst we'll get is a billy club to the face or a bit of tear gas.

Rp out a thread where you obtain the IDs. It would most likely be one or two posts per person, but the act of posting is what you need. Begin the thread by taking unofficial flights into Republic space, then contract a hacker to create your fake ID. Make sure to include something about ghosting the RSID chip, since that is the tricky part of the card. Tinfoil blocks their signals, in case you need a tidbit like that. Once you finish that thread, you should probably mention heading over to Coruscant on a passenger liner and call in someone in the Republic to check your cards. With the preparations, they can't legitimately find a reason to suspect you of forging an ID. As long as you make sure not to give them a reason, you should be able to smoothly transition to Coruscant. Then set up another thread, mark it... Main Thread, and get to work.

That was weird, we posted at the same time.

I guess we COULD have another thread, although I know without a shadow of a doubt a Jedi, S13, or RSF op will come in and arrest us in suspicion. I think the legitimate alter-ID is the best route, since they AREN'T fake and won't trip up RSIDs. All they could know is what our people look like (disguises) and whatever Hutt Intelligence makes up about Darksaber ops. Maybe we'll all be bakers and tailors- certainly nothing military.

Orite, I was trusting people to use common sense again, sorry. It's not my fault that people are bitchy when they don't get their way. If we were going to follow the progression as it should occur, we would Rp out getting the IDs, book passage, and land on Coruscant. Then go through the process of inciting riots.

Which reminds me: you should split the squad in two for this op. Have one team begin on the lower levels, each person taking care of a crowd, targeting case-specific issues and send the other up to the upper city. Time it so that the riots start on the lower levels first before hitting the upper city. That way the RSF would be in momentary disarray while they send forces to deal with the first riot. They would then receive news that riots broke out up top, which would cause them to split their forces, buying more time to enrage the mob further.

Just getting my suggestions out before this begins. I'd hate to see the idea I instigated die out. ;-;

I guess we probably should just RP it out, since that's one less complication later on. We'll do it on our own (as an ASK), with a note in the OP that the Republic can join once they have a good reason. Assume we've gotten the ID's already and thoroughly explain how you got it- this thread is to get to customs and get in your positions (the upper/lower idea is good). The next (main) thread will be the actual riots.

Sorry, been busy with god knows what.

I'll post the intro thread today, probably around 6:30 eastern.

6:30, 10:30, whats the difference?

We don't have to travel together. Just get to Coruscant.

I was going to post, but Jiang has concerns he's posted so I'll hold off.

I know this may sound uber complicated and not worth it, but what about doing this in separate threads: like each character finding their own ways onto the planet in their own threads or other peep's threads like all covertly?

Say we deal with the complexities of getting planet side in non-main threads? Just as any character would travel to Coruscant, so each of us can? This could be an "in the mean time" move. It would also be a prove yourself moment in Darksaber, as each character would make it their personal mission to get planet side; as well each of us would contact Jiang and deal with the roleplaying on our own skill, or with any assistance in this OOC thread?

What'dya guys think of this suggestion?

While I like the idea, I think it would take an insanely long time to pull off. Instead, I'd rather put them all in the same thread getting there, since it entirely shouldn't be that hard. Hell, we can even skip to Coruscant since it shouldn't be this hard- the Republic doesn't roleplay gathering ships for an attack. This whole thing really is supposed to be a fun exercise for both sides- there's a low PC risk of death and it's an interesting arc I don't remember us playing before.

So, are we still going to need my group? Or is this mission a no-go? Could we just sneak through the "back door" with smuggler help in a new thread now?

We're going to go through with it, but now we're just going to start on Coruscant after being smuggled in. I'll post the thread today. We'll start with the riots. Tried to be nice before, now we'll just cut to the chase.

Wait a little bit before starting the thread. :/

At the very least work out the kinks in how you're being smuggled in, secure an escape route, and give us some time to get everyone who is going to be involved involved. There are still a few things to iron out before you can start, unless you want another no-go. Patience, please?

Go ahead and get people together. It will take us a few days to post everyone's intro anyway, and it's been said multiple times we can get in. Getting out is a non-issue, since we can blend in the trillions of people there.

Not to be argumentative, but I'm increasingly annoyed at the "you can't do that" attitude on this site. This would be an interesting RP on both sides, and it's turned into more a pain in the ass than it's worth, as has everything else.

So, I was thinking we could use my characters smuggling business as the excuse to get too our planet.

Delvon Archangel A few things would need to be mowed out, but it's a idea.

I could see that helping us Radz! If Delvon (or whoever Delvon hired) had a good enough reason, a legit reason to go to Coruscant and pass through the Republic's new security measures?

I wonder if Delvon could acquire a specific job of note, like working as a body guard to a Senator? /or specifically trading with a government or big business company to gain priority of access, like a high security private landing platform that is controlled by our side. Once we got past the Republic's security, we wouldn't have to worry about any "airport security" having landed somewhere safe? This type of job would give easy access to certain places and we could just say that we were smuggled as such aboard various ships (or a single ship) in escort or something?
