Dumping ground for a few things... mostly stuff that doesn't really need an official write up but wanted to do it anyways... as well as ideas

Who knows? Might not even actually fill it but at least I've got a spot to do it!

The Dawn Temple

Excerpt · Description · Notable locations

The Dawn Temple, was an old Jedi temple built on plateau of Mount Tellec on the planet Spinitr and was designed to be a spiritual Retreat for Jedi who had lost their ways in the light side of the Force or were looking for redemption from the dark side of the Force; hence the name of Dawn Temple. Though a place designed as a rehabilitation centre, it held a darker secret - it could be used as a prison for Dark Side users.

_

Description

The Dawn Temple was a small temple built on a plateau of Mount Tellac on the planet Spintir; as such the Temple extended within the natural tunnels that had surrounded it. The Temple is small in design and is only about 50 meters tall and extending about 20 meters in width. The walls that surrounded the temple were 40 meters in length.

latest
The Dawn Temple is designed to look pyramid in shape, except it doesn't have the sharp points on top; instead the top of the table is flattened and is square. The Entrance of the temple was guarded by a set of large and heavy double doors compromised of phrik and cortosis alloys, that could not be opened with the Force without having significant power and exerting one's self; the doors could be sealed if it ever came under attack (although due to their size, they do not close instantly, despite the mechanisms built into them) and has walls surrounding the temple entirely, above the mountainous terrain that also surrounds the temple. Flanking either side of the plaza beyond the monstrous gate were two large obelisk that jutted up past the natural terrain. The obelisk provided symbolism but also housed two large anti-vehicular turbolasers that could double as Anti-Air defense; these turrets are automated. Once entry was gained, the individual was greeted by a large ornate plaza that boasted 2 obelisk on either side of a main path that lead up to a grand staircase resting before the main doors. A secondary entrance to the plaza is located on the east side but is protected by a singular heavy door made in the same fashion as the main gate. (This entrance was smaller)

The Entrance to the actual temple itself were large narrow doors that offered a form of protection from any direct assaults, but the doors were not constructed to the specficcations of the first line of defense. These doors were made of thick stone, but just because they were stone didn't mean they could easily be blown away or knocked down. On either side of the temple door is a statue of Jedis clad in robes and carved of stone.

Inside, the temple was composed of an a few classrooms/activity rooms, and various shrines. The central chamber also had a large fountain that always had purified water from the waters below. The temple had various hallways that would lead to certain sections of the temple and also access to a few of the natural caverns ran through the temple to act as additional meditation chambers. However these caverns were very high up into the mountain and it would be impossible to dig into them from down below. There were also two libraries that could be accessed with authorization, and like most temples there were several hidden passageways leading to secrets of the temple. The temple also contained 3 sublevels that dug deep into the mountain. Each serving their own unique purpose.

The Dawn Temple did not contain any jutting obvious spires like the other temples, most of the Chambers that served a purpose were in separate off shoots within the temple. There was a simple Chamber that was donned with a single seat in the middle of the room while directly across a half-moon arrangements of seats. This room was designed for Masters to meet for discussions of day to day and if the council required a secure meeting area. This room was restricted to Masters and those given permission to enter.

The Sublevels were what contained most of the facilities and secrets of the Dawn Temple. The Dawn Temple did not offer places for civilians or delegates as the temple catered to a specific clientele within the Jedi Order. The temple was a place of healing and rehabilitation of those who'd lost their ways, as such they did contain the (while not most) modern of medical technologies and techniques that would be required for tending to the sick and injured; the temple was devoted to the cleansing of the Dark Side and the healing of a Jedi's spirit. It's small size was created to be a more intimate treatment and training environment, to minimize contact with others and have a better control of their powers and studies; the Dawn Temple could even serve as a zone for those who were unstable, or required extra guidance.

The temple contained a small holocron chamber hidden within a secret cavern hidden behind one of the archives, the chamber was not designed to hold anything of utmost importance for any length of time and if they did contain such a valuable artifact it would often be collected soon after it was retrieved. The current Jedi Keepers of The Dawn Temple were also experimenting with a form of automated control; a control by three specially designed holocrons and gatekeepers, however that system has not be deployed. There were also two security control centres that required authorization to enter unimpeded.
The first sublevel was guarded by an External security centre and housed a few suites reserved the visiting Jedi Masters as well as reserved meditation chambers and the seat of government of the temple, it also housed the functional facilities, like power generators, and security controls; this also held some of the temple staff and more specifically the Temple Guards assigned to the Dawn Temple.
The second sublevel was protected by an Internal Security centre as well as sturdy, reinforced doors with advanced locking mechanisms that blocked anyone not approved for entry by the Keeper of the Temple, or the Caretaker of First Knowledge. This sub level was the inner sanctum of the temple and housed the facilities necessary to treat Jedis that had begun the fall to the Dark Side, this was the level that also contained the main archives and held information on the patients kept within. In some cases civilians who's minds had been enthralled by a Fallen Jedi or Dark Side user would be brought here for treatment. A series of tranquil and secluded lounges, therapy rooms and dormitory quarters make up a substantial subterranean wing. Permission to access the treatment areas had to be granted by the Keeper of the Temple or above, and the Masters that served as the healers and pathfinders of the fallen were rotated out on a regular basis, for treating so many tainted could take a toll upon a hearty master.
The third and final sublevel was the most restricted of all levels, this level contained 'The Vaults' which was a Jedi Prison. The Vaults contained many stasis cells that would hold the strongest of Dark Side users or Jedi alike. This was where those who had fully succumbed to the Dark Side and maybe beyond redemption where held until a certain time could be formed to past judgement. This third level was the mostly highly secure and defended level that required explicit permission from the Caretaker of Knowledge to access. Even the Keeper of the Temple could not grant permission to enter here (though they had permission to descend into),

Temple Defenses included the 2 Large Turbolasers as mentioned previously as well as various security measures throughout the temple; there were two additional lasers hidden atop The Dawn Temple itself via hatches. The Dawn Temple was designed as a place of healing and rehabilitation, as such the interior defenses are non-lethal. There are several sentry guns hidden within the plaza, central chamber. There were also Force Fields that could be engaged to temporarily hinder movement within the temple; essentially there was force field emitters stored within the walls of the main choke points in the temple. Finally there are security cameras mounted throughout the temple and on the grounds, this allowed for the guards to monitor rehabilitation efforts and to have advanced warning to seal the temple if necessary. Just inside the main gate is a security checkpoint where visitors and residence are screened and relieved of any contraband, including lightsabers. (Within the temple, specific equipment is given)

Notable locations

The following list details notable locations within the Jedi Temple, as well as any relevant security information:

  • The Perimeter: With 40 meter tall walls surrounding the The Dawn Temple and nestled deep within the many points of the natural terrain, and resting atop much of the natural points as well. The Walls provided protection from ground assaults and to prevent 'escapes' (though not seen as a prison). There are two entrances to the grounds and they are both protected by turobolasers and are viewed as anti-personnel. Each of the turrets faces outward covering the approach. There are two hefty cannons hidden with the two obelisks pushing into the sky that serve as anti-air and anti-vehicular turrets as well as two hidden on the roof of the temple. The main doors are often opened but can be closed in the event of an attack. The doors are comprised of phrik and cortosis alloys to resist lightsaber attacks and their weight alone makes it difficult to force open. A security checkpoint is located just within the main gate and is equipped with force field emitters that would hinder movement if engaged - these emitters are not on unless an attack/riot were to break out.
  • The Plaza: Is the first greeting you get once you past through the main entrance security checkpoint. The Plaza surrounds the front of the the temple and serves as it's gardens and outings. The Plaza is dotted with flora and fountains, small groves and shallow caves. There is a statue garden also present. Upon entering the Plaza you are on a raised platform that leads directly to the large temple doors; this path is flanked by small obelisk that have words of wisdom and Jedi tenant carved into them (4 total); each also contains sentry turrets hidden within. The Temple Doors are also flanked by statues of Faceless Jedi clad in robes; beyond those doors lies more force field emitters. In addition, nestled in some parts of the mountain overlooking the entrance house bunkers for guards with blaster rifles to fire upon the plaza.
  • The Antechamber: Beyond the temple doors is an Antechamber that connects the temple's grand hall and the plaza. Here there is a tranquil setting laid out with various flora scattered about, it provides a warm and inviting atmosphere for those who enter. Contained in here is 4 hidden sentry guns in the ceiling and force field emitters that blocked escape or entrance. However, other than the door to the temple there are no doors here and the grand hall can be clearly seen. The Antechamber granted access to the blaster ports mentioned above, as well as a small barracks just off the chamber for a few temple guards but it wasn't the main barracks.
  • The Great Hall: The center of the Dawn Temple’s ground level is taken up by
a massive assembly hall, used for important ceremonies and gatherings by the Jedi attending the facility A small antechamber separates the Great Hall from the main doors of the temple, leading out to a circular plaza dominated by a massive fountain and pool. The fountain’s waters run pure and displays a holocron replica surrounded by the a pool as the water flows onto the holocron before running the channels carved into the statue and into the pool below. Past the fountain, staircases ascend to a pillared chamber with a prominent dais and podium facing the entrance. There are Security doors that lead to the sublevels of the temple, aiding the already impressive measures put in place to hide the temple’s secrets.
  • Central Chambers & Quarters: Surrounding the Great Hall are a number of smaller chambers and hallways housing everything from memorials to past caretakers, indoor gardens, and a balcony overlooking the grounds.
Recovering Jedi can spend time relaxing and meditating in these areas; they retain a tranquil atmosphere. The view from the balcony is especially impressive, covering not only the western half of the grounds, but also the slopes of Mount Tellec and much of the valley beyond. A stairway in one of the western hallways leads down to a small living area where the staff and and residence dwell. Although below the ground level, it is still above the sublevels proper, and it has no access to the lower reaches of the temple. The quarters comprise a dozen cloistered cells, each with a simple bed, a work desk, and a closet. Shared facilities such as a kitchen, a refresher, and storerooms for supplies surround the cells and allow for comfortable, if frugal, living.
  • The Archives: The Dawn Temple has two Archives that contain various writings and recordings. The Main Archives were located just past the internal security centre have reinforced and securely locked doors on both sides and required authorization by The Keeper of the Temple or Caretaker of First knowledge as it was considered their restricted section. Inside the archives are the computer terminals that allow access to the temple’s records. These provide information including the mundane details of the temple’s supplies and logistics as well as the histories of its former patients and the circumstances of their stay.
The Secondary archives was located on either side of the Great Hall and contain an assortment of Ancient Jedi carvings and data recordings that contained Jedi teachings. The secondary archives could be accessed by anyone staying at the temple.
  • External Security Centre: Located at the back of the Great Hall, this room contained the security controls of the ground level and 1st sub level defenses and cameras. This was also the first security checkpoint within the actual temple and Jedi Masters were the only ones authorized beyond the doors. This granted access to sublevel 1.
  • Internal Security Centre: Located beyond the Great Hall and the facilities that lie within sublevel 1. This center controlled the defenses and cameras of Sublevel 2 and 3 and in order to past beyond this center to enter the inner sanctum required permission granted by The Keeper of the Temple or The Caretaker of First Knowledge, as the sublevel 2 contained the treatment areas for those falling to the Dark Side, as well as those warped by it.
  • The Vaults: Is located on the 3rd and final sublevel of the Dawn Temple. Here Jedi, Exile, or Sith, who had been completely fallen to the Dark Side would be kept imprisoned in stasis cells specifically designed to hold Jedi and Force users. These area is given extra attention by the Temple Guards on duty when there are individuals held within. This area also has the most security systems in place. Only the Caretaker of First Knowledge (and the Arbiter) could grant free access to this level of the Dawn Temple (although the Keeper was allowed to access, they did not have the authority to grant access)
Note: It should be assumed that all of the locations listed above are guarded and patrolled by Jedi Temple Guards in addition to the security clearance required to enter them.

Intent

To provide a write-up for the existing Jedi Temple on Spintir.

Planet Eclipse, is not really a planet to begin with. The planet is just shy of being classified as a full fledged planet. Eclipse is located in the middle of a dense asteroid field located in L-11 of the Deep Core. The planet is just a barren land, similar to that of an asteroid. Deep within the planet's crust can be found a small concentration of Kyber crystals the the planet was likely once a crystalline planet until it was lost. The only mention of the planet is some obscured references from early explorers.
Description
Planet Eclipse is a planet located deep within an dense asteroid field within the Deep Core, at L-11. Eclipse is a barren land with no atmosphere or civilization. The planet could really be considered an oversized asteroid with a rough terrain carrying years worth of craters from natural impacts of space debris.
The only notable features of the planet is a few scarce caves and tunnels that have developed from the rare space creature who would have made it's home within the planet's surface, however the planet has no native flora or fauna due to it's lack of atmosphere and any creatures that had once existed have died off decades before and anything that set up a home, was only a brief set up. Eclipse benefits from a large asteroid field that surrounds it, the field is proven to be dense and difficult to navigate through without a skilled practitioner or a properly plotted route.

Deep within the crust it is said to hold Kyber crystals, however how they had developed there or how this planet even came into existence is unknown, although there is theories. On a regular basis the planet does become impacted by many of the stray asteroids or space debris, however it is not constantly bombarded by it's natural defense. It is these impacts that might explain the existence of random bits of metal or crystals.
History
Eclipse was once a vibrant planet, likely of crystalline nature, that had housed a unknown species millennial ago, however the former planet had come under siege by nature and influenced by it's previous people. During their peak time the planet began to destabilized and eventually the planet had surrendered and erupted causing the planet to exploded resulting in the former planet turned to debris.

This eruption created the existing asteroid field that surrounding the planet; however a single chuck of the previous planet remained while the rest began to circle it, over time more pieces of the planet broke off or the debris had collided with itself resulting in the density of the field today.

Today, after thousands of years of bombardment, it seems the planet was stabilized, however it is still subjected to the occasional collision. This devastation as resulted in a completely barren planet with no flora or fauna, or even inhabitants as it is merely a large planetoid with no atmosphere due to the destruction of the original planet. The name 'Eclipse' comes from the ever darkness due to the lack of a sun or moon. In essence it is simply an asteroid.
Inhabitants
At the time of this writing, there is no inhabitants to Eclipse; however the planet is a possible candidate for a deep space colony or base.

Flora & Fauna
Eclipse is barren with no atmosphere resulting in no foundations for flora or fauna.

Intent
This planet write up is designed to serve as a backdrop for an upcoming plot planned. The planet will be a candidate for a base/colony maintained by artificial means (artificial environment / produced atmosphere) - or be a location for a space station to be deployed; upon successful completion of the plot the Jedi will have a base of operations.

This is a very BARE BONES planet. I have intentions of updating this write up as the planet gets established (ie update Points of Interest)

The Dusk Temple

Excerpt · Description · Notable locations

The Dusk Temple, is a new Jedi Temple established by the Jedi Order in the 'planet' Eclipse located in the Eclipse system. The Temple is established deep within the asteroid fields of Eclipse and is placed on a planetoid known as Eclipse. The Dusk Temple is built on the craterous planet and appears to be a colony/station, with the bulk of the Temple actually being below ground. In order to function, the station is constructed with an artificial environment, atmosphere, and gravity.

_

Description

The Dusk Temple was established for the Jedi Order by Jedi Master Bruce Guleya. The temple was known publicly to the Jedi Order as a refuge and a retreat for members of the Jedi Order, it was established as such due to the natural defense of the dense asteroid field that surrounded it. It was suggested to be a home to cut away from the madness of the Galaxy, just a place to relax and meditate. At least, that's what the temple - or rather the station was known for. What made this location so attractive is the fact that it's location is secret due to the concealment within the dense asteroid field. Access to the station requires a precise calculated route, while possible to navigate without the route it would prove to be difficult and there would be a chance for damage to large ships like capital ships - although it was still possible to navigate.

450px-Scifi_office_concept_by_gunsbins-d3gztss.jpg
The Dusk Temple is actually kept within the construction that is known as Eclipse Station. On the surface, the station is the only thing that is acknowledged - but in the Jedi's mind's it was a temple, a sanctuary. The station is completely established on the surface of the planetoid and offers much in terms of amenities. At the center of the station is a central structure that is known as the hub. Stretching out from the hub is two large sized biodomes connected by transparisteel walkways jutting out from the hub, each of these large biodomes are entered by airlocks/bulkheads between the domes and the corridor, that can be sealed. Each biodome is it's own climate, one is tropical, and the other is temperate. Each of the biodomes consists of trees and various flora from around the galaxy. Attached to the roof of the hub is two turbolasers providing 360 degree coverage; the Hub also contains a tower extended a few meters upward from the hub which provides a command centre with 360 degree field of vision.

The Temperate dome closely resembles Tython containing various flora and a man made river with a small lake. The Tropical dome closely resembles Scarif with a beach, crystal waters and tall trees.

In addition to these two large biodomes, there is visibly three small sized biodomes that are bare. The secondary (small) biodomes are established to allow the creation of control environments to see how plants and certain aspects react in various environments.

At the back of the central hub is a metallic corridor that extend to the side of the crater in which the station is established, this corridor is the connected aspect of the the station to the actual depths of the temple and the support structures for the station; finally the front of the hub lends itself to an open air landing pad that can accommodate a standard sized shuttle, the landing pad is dedicated to visitors instead of the permanent landing bay. The hanger for Eclipse station is concealed within the planetoid nearing the back of Eclipse.

The Entrance to the actual temple is in the crust of Eclipse, the entrance is concealed underground at the back of the hub. The Dusk Temple is designed as a place of refuge and to allow for an opportunity for people to study and mediate, it could even be considered a vacation retreat - but it isn't. No place is actually safe within the Galaxy and despite the secretive nature of Eclipse and the station (concealed within an asteroid field), the station must be on high alert.

The majority of systems that operate to sustain Eclipse station are located underground, at least the more vital components.
The station is powered by a single Hypermatter reactor, contains three smaller Atmosphere generator and a single large generator, an artificial gravity generator, a Knightfall-shield generator, waste disposal systems (Garbage & Recycler), and emergency life support systems. Also equipped with subspace communications suite & full spectrum sensor suite.

databank_polismassa_01_169_21f04b76.jpeg
Although the station had a known purpose as a location for sanctuary among the Jedi Order, that was not it's full intention nor was it it's true intention. Beneath the surface the true purpose of the temple is known, the temple was dedicated to research and development for the Jedi Order, and served as a headquarters for the New Jedi Shadows. The Dusk Temple provided a fully functional and developed centre for research of the Jedi's technological and spiritual discoveries. Some of the research done within the walls is research into the living kyber crystals, as their was a smaller deposit of crystals leftover from a planet long ago. However, the collection of crystals is not as surmountable as the known kyber locations; which is why the planet has gone unnoticed.

In addition to it's true purpose and being equipped with a modern day research lab, the temple was also designed to be a place of peace, much like its owners. The temple was a fully functional Jedi training grounds, with a slight emphasis on a greater understanding of knowledge gained and how to counter the affects of the Dark Side of the Force. This was not a place for redemption or mending of broken spirit, but instead a place to fight the broken spirit and the tainted; although that could be done within the sanctity of the temple walls.

The Dusk Temple's labs were kept under close watch and guarded as a restricted zone found deep within the temple. This security and concealment was necessary to preserve the research within, as well as to provide the security and peace needed to be able to complete the jobs with little interference. This research and development was guarded from Knights and only a select few Masters would be allowed to know that there would be research conducted. While the projects sealed within are classified as strictly need-to-know. This was required to prevent the studies from falling into the wrong hands. The labs were located on the second level.

The Main level of the Dusk Temple contained classrooms, training chambers, chapel, an archive, meditation stone garden, and a great hall containing a soothing fountain. The level also contained the Guard garrison for the Temple Guards and a requisition office/armory. A secondary communications center is also located on this level.

The Second level of the Dusk Temple contains a restricted training chamber for the New Jedi Shoadows, a small wing of containment cells, access to the hanger, the Temple Keeper's quarters, the Shadowmaster's quarters, a restricted private temporary quarters for selective individuals. The second level also contains all of the auxiliary systems such as the main reactor, main atmosphere generator, and artificial gravity generator. Supplies are also located on this level.

The Third Level was a restricted level and contained security to match the sensitive nature of the level. This was the level that contained a medium sized artifact & holocron vaults, the research and development centre, backup computers and sensitive archives. Access to this level was concealed and could only be accessed by entering a specific code with additional clearance; access to a corridor is available through the Temple Keeper and Shadowmaster's quarters. This level does not show up to the regular public. (Example, the elevator only shows the 2 other floors)

Eclipse Station and The Dusk Temple are firstly defended by the natural formations surrounding the planetoid - the dense asteroid field, as well as the lack of atmosphere; requiring environmental suits to walk the surface. The second line of defense is the Knightfall-Type planetary shield generator, nestled into the crust of the planet (except portions of the top of the shield generator which protrude out) and provided defense from an orbital bombardment as well as any stray asteroids that happen to go off course and collide with the surface. Finally the base is defended by several turbolasers stationed around the station, one on each corner and two sitting ontop of the hub; none of these weapons are concealed. As a last line of defense - the station's reactor can be set to self-destruct via voice command and confirmed by barometric scan; Only the Caretaker has the authority to initiate the command, and it's done at the base - not remotely.

Notable locations

The following list details notable locations within the Jedi Temple, as well as any relevant security information:

  • The Hub: This is the main section of the entire Eclipse station. It is a circular building constructed with Quadranium plates. The Hub contains all of the essential control stations needed to monitor and control aspects of the station in it's entirety. The Hub is five floors; all serving different aspects. First floor contains the core amenities - recreational facilities (including a nightlife), gyms, shops, waste processing, several conference rooms, gardens and workstations. There is the mess hall and a fully stocked medical facility. This floor also has complete access to all parts of the base, the bridge that connects each of the biodomes and access to the temple itself, which is buried at the back and digs into the crust. Finally the connections to the VIP landing zone are also here.
Second floor is home to the temporary accommodations, reserved for dignitaries and visiting members of the galaxy; there is some gardens set up as well as access to a museum.
Third floor, is home to the apartments and residence of those who had chosen to live at the station. This includes Jedis or support staff; access to a galactic achieve is here - this does not contain Jedi related stuff, just general knowledge and books.
Forth floor, continues to provide residence. There is also a few more eloborate suites on the floor - these are for Jedi Masters and those who need exceptional privacy - there are always rooms reserved for the Jedi Council members, even if they are not present on the station.
Fifth floor is the final floor, it houses the command center. Here staff monitor communications, control the station, monitor security systems, and operate the base defenses. This is the nerve center. The command station has transparisteel windows that gives a complete view of the area.
    There is no basement.

  • The Biodomes: The Biodomes are connected to the hub and are on the surface, the domes are transparent. There are two major domes which all contain their own small atmosphere generator that is connected directly to each dome - the generators sit on the surface and close to each dome; as they aren't essential tech. They can be controlled remotely from the command centre. The domes are used to replicate any and all types of environment and can act as training grounds or simply paint a nice scene. Each dome has a single quadrant dedicated to agricultural needs that can grow food fit for the chosen environment; this allows the station to have some form of self-sufficiency. In addition to major domes there are three small domes that provide test environments for science & research of plant life. These three small domes are powered by the generators attached to the major ones except they have a smaller capacity section within the generator that can alter the small domes.

  • The Temple Entrance: At the far back of the Hub is a set stairs that descends down a small slop, at the end of the slope is two large doors that reach floor to ceiling, it is flanked by two Jedi Consular Statues facing outward, in a meditative pose. The doors can be closed and sealed shut in the event of an attack. Each door is comprised of phrink and cortosis to prevent lightsaber penetration. There are two Jedi Temple guards on watch at all times.

  • The Antechamber: Beyond the temple doors is an Antechamber that connects the temple's interior and the plaza. Here there is a tranquil setting laid out with various flora scattered about, it provides a warm and inviting atmosphere for those who enter. Contained in here is 4 hidden sentry guns in the ceiling and force field emitters that blocked escape or entrance. However, other than the door to the temple there are no doors here and the interior can be clearly seen.

  • The Main Hall: The main hall looks much like a regular temple. After you pass through the antechamber you walked down a long corridor what arches on either side. At the end of the hallway is a set of stairs that leads up to an elevator that can grant access to the other floors within the temple; the stairs are flanked by Jedi Consular statues. On either side of the hallway is many corridors that lead to various classrooms and work rooms that are fit for any Jedi Temple. Gardens, meditation, an Jedi Archive and the Temple Guard's garrison is located here; finally buried in an off-chamber is a secondary communication and command centre which could be occupied in the event the main systems were compromised.

  • The Secondary Hall: The secondary hall is on level 2, which is actually on level down from the main floor. This is another corridor but a much more controlled environment. On this level, instead of arches there were only pillars that held the world above them up. On the sides of the corridor is doors that lead to all of the operating systems like the main reactor for the station, atmosphere generator, waste management facilities, and so on; each of the operating systems are insulated with sound proofing to make the area much more quieter for the occupants. In addition the mentioned systems above, access to a few containment cells are available that were designed to hold Force Users and Non-Force Users alike. Further the Temple Keeper's Quarters and Shadowmaster's Quarters are located on this level at the end of the hallway; as well as storage rooms. Lastly, there is a passageway reserved for Jedis hidden within that leads to hanger access.

  • The Temple Keeper's Quarters: On the second level the Temple Keeper's Quarters is located at the end of the second floor. The Quarters are not lavishly designed but instead are designed for simplicity containing a office, refresher, kitchen/dinning area, livingroom, bedroom, and separate meditation chamber.
There is a medium round chamber located just inside the door and before you enter the actual living area. It is partitioned off and is used for council meetings or ceremonial use; this room is accessible by request but the living is not accessible without authorization.
Inside the work station is a window that looks down to the hidden third floor, the window itself is concealed by security panel. Within the office is a hidden entrance that leads to a corridor with an exclusive elevator that maybe used to descend into the labs. (This also connects with the Shadowmaster's Quarters)

  • The Shadowmaster's Quarters: The Shadowmaster's Quarters is much the same as the Temple Keeper's Quarters with the exception that the chamber before the living area is a small circular room that can be used as an alternative council chamber and war room as it is installed with holographic projectors. There is also a private access to the exclusive elevator. This room also doesn't have a view. The Shadowmaster's Quarters is adjacent to the Keeper's quarters; they are just a bit smaller. (They are connected by elevator corridor)

Side note, access to each quarters is sealed by door and there is a third hidden access that leads directly out to the secondary quarters - the entrance is just concealed. Each door to the quarters is also designed to look like simple walls once you enter the 'public' door.

  • The Labs: The Dusk Temple contains a hidden Research and Development lab on the third and final level. This lab does not show up on any layouts or blueprints and cannot be accessed with explicit permission; only those given permission by the Caretaker of First Knowledge are allowed to access this floor. The labs are completely equipped with modern stations and computer systems. The lab has various workstations that can be used to test a varity of items, there is also the ability to process large amounts of data unattended.

  • The Vault: The Dusk Temple is not just a research station, but a home for Dark Side artifacts that have been secured from the Sith or Exiles. These are kept within a vault on the 3rd floor that has been designed to require the use of a powerful Force user to open the doors and deny access through blasters, explosions, lightsabers. The room is also lined with a certain system that suppresses all Force Signatures within (effectively concealing the artifacts) - this allows for a safe place to conduct research on the items retrieved. Most often these objects are not kept within for a resonable amount of time before they must be transferred to Tython for permanent storage.
Note: It should be assumed that all of the locations listed above are guarded and patrolled by Jedi Temple Guards in addition to the security clearance required to enter them.

Excerpt

The Path of the Initiate or The Initiate's Path, is a relatively new tradition or procedure implemented to the Jedi Order, it's creation was designed to fill a void within the recruitment procedures of the Jedi Order. While the Jedi traditionally preferred to recruit children into their ranks in order to control / help them understand their emotions that haven't fully developed, it wasn't always practical to forsaken all other applicants because of being too old. This was necessary in order to streamline the recruitment process for applicants.

History

The Path of the Initiate, was common among the recruitment of new Jedis who had exceeded the age of three, or more particularly those in adulthood. Unlike the Trials of Mastery or Trials of Knighthood, the Path of the Initiate is more a formal conception and can sometimes be much shorter and less intensive then that of the the previously mentioned trials; however they were necessary to streamline and standardize the recruitment process for those seeking entrance into the Jedi Order.

The process is a more newly developed process and is a process created when times were necessary for such actions that the preferred method of recruitment was not viable. It is a system implement to ensure that the selections are uniform and minimize bringing in those not suitable for the Jedi Order. While the process was designed more so for times of turbulence and the need to bolster ranks, it is not exclusive to these times.

Records indicate that the Initiate's Path was a path taken by those who were also uncertain if they wanted to join the Order. These were trials designed as stepping stones in the the great new life of a Jedi Knight. The Initiate's Path was designed to help aspiring Jedi begin to understand what would be required of them, it needed a commitment and understanding before the Order would consider them suited.

Practice

Each Aspiring Initiate had to undergo a series of commitments before being truly accepted into the Jedi Order. The actual duration of the Path differed from individual to individual; and no two cases were exactly the same. The Initiate's Path was a two tiered program with a bit of a graduated process.

Tier 1 - The Seeker

The first steps of the Path is for the individual to declare their intent to walk the path. When the individual makes that public declaration they are expected to temporarily surrender their affects and belongings. This means they are to surrender any ships they may have (the ships are kept in a hanger and the individual retains full control of the ship however) and dedicate themselves to a single temple. What this means is that the Individuals is willing to sacrifice and remain confined to their chosen temple. At this time, the individual becomes a Jedi Seeker.

A Seeker begins to walk the path of the Jedi, they make a single temple their home and they make the sacrifice of mobility by remaining at the temple to observe the Jedi way of life and begin to start of live their life as a Jedi. A seeker may call the temple their home and will be provided with small living arrangements, the Seeker is expected to adhere to the schedule at the temple. This means, eating, sleeping, learning, obeying the rules per temple. This symbolizes the dedication to learning and willingness to sacrifice their possessions as a Jedi typically does. Failure to do this, or to depart the planet after stating the intent to be a Seeker, the candidate forfeits their candidacy.

During this time, a Seeker begins to understand the Jedi and decides if they truly do want to walk the Jedi Path. During their days as a Seeker they learn the basics of the Force and may even learn a bit of control but they are not groomed to be effective Force Users. If the Seeker does in fact wish to walk the Jedi Life they must then begin to learn from them. It will be the Seeker's duty to convince a Knight or above that they are willing to train hard and become a Jedi. They must acquire a Sponsor.

When a Seeker has acquired a Sponsor, the Jedi's job is to help the Seeker understand their choice and build on their basics of the Force. During this time a Sponsor can issues any tests they desire - as long as they are ethical and in relation to the Jedi.

When the Sponsor is satisfied with the commitment and dedication of the Seeker they may approach the Councils to indicate that they have a Seeker who wishes to be Jedi. The Sponsor is to present the Seeker's case to the Council of Reconciliation. The Sponsor is expected to provide a brief explanation and their own observations of the Seeker before the Council will accept the Seeker.

Once the Council has accepted the Seeker, the Seeker is then brought before the council with their Sponsor (usually the same day) and the Council may administer whatever tests they require to verify that the Seeker would make a good Jedi. These tests can be questions or a simple demonstration of the Force to verify their connection and dedication; this meeting allows the council a chance to get to know the Seeker. If the council is satisfied with the Seeker's performance, they will be granted to title of Jedi Initiate.

(Note: If the Council if Reconciliation is unavailable the Council of First Knowledge maybe approached, then the Council Masters if still unavailable. Sponsors should NOT contact the High Council until all other options have been exhausted. These meetings are short and need only 2-3 members of the council present.

In some cases the High Council may dictate a different council.)

Tier 2 - The Initiate

When a Seeker graduates to Initiate, they are given more freedoms of the Jedi Temples, they are generally freely able to walk the halls and access the general archives of their chosen temple, however an Initiate must remain under escort at any other temple they visit. It is still required of the Initiate to work closely with their Sponsor and to be mindful of their every move.

It will be the duty of a Sponsor to ensure that their Initiate learns Jedi Etiquette, a basic understanding of the Jedi Code, a greater control of the Force, the basics of lightsaber combat and provide guidance in the construction of the Initiate's own Lightsaber.

When the Initiate has met the above requirements they are presented with two choices. They may walk the path of a Padawan if they seek a more in-depth and structured study or they may wish to become a Jedi Knight by title; however, just because someone holds the title of Knight it is strongly encouraged that the newly minted Knight remain close at hand to their sponsor or the masters to understand the Jedi and the Force. The Initiate must present their case the the Council of First Knowledge.

The title of Jedi Knight may only be granted by the council, once the Initiate has completed the Knighthood Trials. In addition, a Initiate is not authorized to sponsor any seekers even after graduation. (They may sponsor once they have been a member of the Jedi Order for an appropriate amount of time.)

(Note: If the Council of First Knowledge is unavailable the Council of Reconciliation maybe approached, then the Council Masters if still unavailable. Sponsors should NOT contact the High Council until all other options have been exhausted. These meetings are short and need only 2-3 members of the council present.

In some cases the High Council may dictate a different council.)

Judgement

A Seeker may become an Initiate once they have secured a Sponsor and have met the applicable battery of tests administered by the Council of Reconciliation, or applicable council. A Sponsor will approach the appropriate council to indicate that they have a Seeker who wishes to be Jedi, it will be the sponsor's duty to give the council a brief explanation of the seeker as well as their own observations and opinions. Once these have been provided, the Seeker will be summoned along with their sponsor (typically the same day) and will be subjected to an array of tests, determined by the council.

When a Seeker meets the council's satisfaction, they will be granted the title of an Initiate. It should be advised however that the Seeker's Meeting is not as intense as the Trials of Knighthood or Trials of Mastery, this meeting is simply to determine if the candidate is a suitable fit for the Jedi Order.

It should be noted that during the entire time of the Initiate's Path they will be scrutinized and the acquisition of a Sponsor is not an easy task for the Sponsor will also be scrutinized. A Sponsor is held accountable and liable for their Seeker's actions, just as much as the Seeker themselves.

A Sponsor may administer any tests they see fit, as long as they conform to Jedi ideals.

After successfully constructed a lightsaber and understanding of the Jedi and the Force, an Initiate may graduate to Padawan or Knight (provided they pass the Trials of Knighthood), these titles can only be granted by a council.

Intent

This article describes the Jedi Path of the Initiate in sufficient detail that it can be applied to the Orders admissions of Indie (and Sith) Force Users going forward. While other factions may admit on a simple application, the Jedi Order required a more through vetting to ensure the integrity of the Order itself. A Jedi is a strong conduit of the Light Side of the Force and it makes sense for the admission criteria for Jedi to reflect as such. The writeup of the admission criteria draws from the safety and integrity of the Jedi and Force Users.

It should be noted that the Path was written for easy admissions as it isn't rightfully difficult to pass the path. It was also written to add an extra layer of depth and demension for characters to add to their own backgrounds, and stories.

The Path of the Initiate is for Indie Force Users (and to a lesser extent defectors of the Sith Empire) only. Characters are free to follow the standard method of creating a New Jedi if they prefer; this will not be applied to new Jedis, instead it is just an extra bit of character development.

The Caretaker's Tome

Holocron_6d6b7de1.jpeg

Site lore

This Jedi holocron was constructed and recorded by The Caretaker of First Knowledge, Bruce Guleya within the secret Jedi Temple/Base of Eclipse in 6896 BBY. As one of the Jedi Council before Knightfall in 6898 BBY, he was granted certain luxuries and had a wealth of Jedi Knowledge obtained with his privilege. Contained within was countless stories and teaching, but nothing of ultimate secrecy.

Contents

Like all Jedi holocrons, the contents of Bruce's device could only be accessed by another Jedi Knight. The Caretaker himself served as the holocron's gatekeeper, there was no real restrictions imposed on accessing the contents. The Gatekeeper ensured that the information being provided was going to be given to someone who had proven they had a stronger connection to the Light Side as it was Jedi knowledge to be provided; there were also certain security features installed to ensure it's own survival - much like a Kyber Crystal.

Before his Holocron actually began to reveal it's contents, it gave the Force User an chance to better get to know the bardottan and his role within the Jedi Order as the Caretaker of First Knowledge. It'd allow for philosophical debates and talks, it'd even teach aspects of Bruce's culture and talk about his experiences and his friends he had accumulated when he was a real being; this was set up to help make learning and understanding slightly easier - as the Caretaker believed in bonds and when two people understood more about each other, things would absorb better. This approach would almost seem like a true Force Ghost in the way he was portrayed. True, it may have come off a little long-winded - like in reality - but at least there was some methods of fast forwarding through the ideal chit-chat. This aspects could be requested as training progressed.

The device, like the Grand Master's Holocron was to be used by a new generation of Jedi and contained the combined knowledge of the Jedi Code, its Nine Tenants, the Trials of Knighthood, and the Trials of Mastery, to ensure that there was an increased chance that the information would be located and preserved; it explained the councils and their purpose, the titles and their duties as achievements. Though it contained information on how to avoid the Dark Side of the Force, Bruce also spoke to what he believed to be some of the Jedi Order's greatest failings and his suggestions on how to remedy such failings; such as discussions of attachments and how younglins might benefit from a restyling of their training. It also contained the information related to a process for new admissions into the Jedi Order of old.

For Jedi users with a basic understanding of the Order's philosophy and a similarly basic use of the Force, the holocron would actually serve as a teacher in that it helped hone the user's application in the basic controls of the Force. The Gatekeeper Bruce would always be projected as a full sized individual and would often act as if it was actually a living being. Further he was was armed with countless textbooks of information and History of the Jedi Order as he knew it, coupled with his own 40 years of experience. The Gatekeeper also was capable of explaining the Dagoyan Masters' and their Force beliefs, as they had shaped him to the Jedi he was; Bruce could explain that while there were certain ways of looking at the Force, it was his duty and his beliefs to always seek unity and balance.

As the user advanced through the pathways of the Holocron, the Caretaker's Gatekeeper would explain the proper applications of the Force to heal the body, the mind, and the soul, while being exposed to the darkest of energies and still remaining in a constant state of light. It also contained Bruce's limited knowledge of retaining one's consciousness in the Force after death—for those who truly mastered the light side of the Force. (If you did not, it would never reveal that there was more to teach)

Finally, the Caretaker of First Knowledge delved into the Jedi Shadows and their role within the galaxy as a whole. He would reveal Dark Side artifacts known to him and their locations at the time of the Holocrons creation. He would explain the location of vergances and locations with a strong Force connection, including Kyber Crystals; unlike Wyck he was unable to provide a starmap. The secrets the Caretaker would finally teach were abilities that would prove to be incredibly useful to an individual who sought to walk the Shadows - from concealing their presence in the Force and physical form, to the purification of Force Light and the preservation of Force Seal.

Intent
To create a Holocron for Bruce's final act and story on the boards. To continue to link the Jedi's together from timeline to timeline by allowing the characters to locate and consume as they see fit. The teaching styles preserved are iconic to Bruce in that they are patient and deep, helping people understand themselves better by helping to sort through their selves. In finality, the holocron is a way to preserve countless Jedi knowledge to prevent the absolute destruction or trace of that knowledge.

BIOGRAPHY

Arah Tizun was born to a litter of 5 to Craso and Jahara on the Cathar home-world of the same name. He was the second of the 5 to enter the galaxy, but he was the last to become an individual as there were some complications with his infancy, in that his vision would not develop. But it was this fault that drove him to prove he was better than that. Though he was second, he is always viewed as the youngest in the litter. From an early age, he began to learn what it meant to be a male cathar - fierce, loyal, vicious. He would quickly learn, through his father, hand-to-hand combat, to be a predator instead of pray, meanwhile, he was thought the history and morals of the species through his mother. Each partner had an equal development of his personality and future.

Being the "black sheep" of his litter, Arah often made top efforts to prove that he wasn't worthless, weak, or need help to accomplish more demanding tasks. Because of this he often trained harder and longer with little to no regard for his own health or safety. There were incidents where he would push to collapse and when people tried to tell him otherwise or try and help him, he would shut down the help of the lectures. At times, it was difficult to speak with him or ask him to ease off during sparring matches. This would continue throughout his childhood and into his early teenage years. This would prove beneficial for Arah, when he joined a local league.

Things seemed to be looking good for Arah when he started in the league. He climbed the tournament standings and was proving to be a true contender. Arah needed to fight, it's what he felt like he had control of. He, to a certain extent, liked to feel the fight; to him he was proving that he wasn't incapable and that he couldn't be held back. But, with a great rise comes a great fall. Days leading up to a match, his competitor kept poking at him and trying to get a rise out of Arah; at first, Arah let it go, it was just 'schoolyard talk' so to speak. But the persistent nature slowly ate away at Arah and eventually, Arah throw the first hit long before the arranged match. The results were not favorable to him, he lost and suffered injuries, including to his ego.

A road of recovery then followed. Arah became more determined during this days, despite the fact that his injuries were not fully healed and was urged to rest and take it easy, Arah kept pushing. He was trapped in his old ways, the ways of proving himself to thous who thought he was weaker - but in all honesty, it was all in his head. No one really thought he was weak, he was just his own worst critic; the person to help him see this was a young cathar female named Jirizi. She was a secret admirer of sorts, and was one of the people who took his recovery serious. Though never mated to one another, they spend exceptional amounts of time together. Through his interacting with Jirizi, he was able to ease up on his old ways - but they never concluded, it was unfinished business and he needed to see it through. It'd be two years before he would get the opportunity to see it through.

Arah went back to fighting. But not as hard as before, he still harbored the feeling of weakness but he knew he couldn't reveal that. He wouldn't be as top of his game like previous, until he got to meet his rival once more. The two met face to face in a scheduled match, watched by the communities of Cathar. Arah vs. Crux. Crux did not hold back, he knew how to get under Arah's fur and he was relentless before the fight even began. Arah tried to take the high road, which worked for a little while... but then he got the upper-hand, it was Arah who was relentless now. Arah unleashed a flurry of blows without giving up, at time he extended his claws delivering wound inducing strikes - wounds would expected, and the use of claws was not prohibited, but it was in excess. Arah had Crux in the corner and was savagely striking him, Arah roared out in a fury and delivered strike after strike, draining the endurance of his opponent, even when Crux hit the ground, Arah continued, the only way to cease the assault was by way of intervention from the spectators. They freed Crux from the battery of Arah before having him sent for medical care - Arah was taken away to decompress. Arah was victorious, but the cost would be too great.

Crux was his littermate, his brother.

After the fight, Arah's family had a hard time speaking with him and that continued tension would soon lead to Arah feeling isolated from not only his family, but friends, and community. To nearly kill a littermate in a pointless attack did not bode well. It became too difficult for Arah to look at his family, let alone speak to them. This turning point resulted in Arah leaving Cathar behind with a great regret, but to him it seemed like the only logical answer and he needed to address it - of course he wouldn't listen to anyone else who would suggest otherwise.

Soon, Arah found himself on Coruscant, a planet you can easily disappear within given the large communities. Here he kept to himself, took up a job with a construction company and did manual labour, he effectively stopped attempting to fight. But he could never avoid the fight, they always seemed to find him. One day, Arah saw recruitment ad for the Sector Rangers, and on a whim he figured he'd give the application a try, thinking nothing of it. He soon became a successful candidate and offered to be sent off for training to become a sector ranger.

Physical Appearance

Arah is a cathar who is taller than the average cathar at a height of 1.9 meters (6'2") weight a cool 86kg (189lbs) of an athletic build. He has no mane or hair, instead he has golden fur with subtle black markings across his body and a accented white marking on his face. His ears are characteristically pointed and he has soft blue eyes, that prove to be a unique identifier.

Arah is often seen wearing a simple white cloth tunic with a leather jacket and leather gloves with the fingers cut down in order to allow him to access his claws and to enhance dexterity. The clothes are just that, simple clothes and afford no real protection save a scratch or two.

Arah typically walks upright in a proud and confident posture. He still speak with an accent to his home-planet.
His voice is gruff.

BIOGRAPHY
Ovinci was born on the planet Mirial, home to all of his people. Common among his people, Ovinci was born with a connection to the Force slightly deeper than the rest of his people. While he had a slightly deeper connection, it didn't mean he was some prophetic being, no it was just it made him more eligible to be trained to wield the power akin to Jedi or Sith. He, of course wasn't alone, other's were just as gifted as he. This connection began forging at birth but it wasn't until he was entering his teenage years that it truly developed and solidified itself by making the connection known. This was not unusual however, as his people believed and had a naturally affinity for the Force even if they could not touch it directly. So when this connection was evident, there was no hesitation among his family to join the New Jedi Order.

At the age of 15, Ovinci had a slightly harder time adopting the Jedi ways compared to someone trained from a younglin age. Ovinci found hat he was more tuned to the force as a scholar and support member oppose to a front-line warrior. Knowing that that was where his talents lie, Ovinci spent more time studying and meditating on the secrets... although it wasn't the easiest for him. In his earlier days of Jedi training he often found himself getting distracted a lot instead of sitting still to hear the Force and feel it. But over time, he began to feel the serenity of meditation - he was able to do it a little bit longer than before.

However, Ovinci was no fool. He had asked in his earlier days to focus on combat with a lightsaber and the use of the Force to augment his own personal limitations. Because of this early focus, Ovinci had developed an imposing physique, knowing how to use the Force to act kind of like a steroid and pain suppressant. It was a risky maneuver on his part, but it was his earlier regime. Using the Force to augment the muscle repair, but to dull the pain that would naturally accumulate. He is by no means immune to the effects nor has he walked away from this practice unscathed. It was during one of his sessions that he had lost the focus and concentration, resulting in serious injury to his core. The injuries required the assistance of well trained healers of the Order to address, now should he choose to push himself, the risk of injury is above average. It was during this healing time when he learned the serenity of the Force.

He had little to do but to meditate, but it never sat well with him completely. He still had that desire to be more active but he knew it wasn't a possibility. While he was out of commission, he attempted to keep himself busy by helping around the Jedi training grounds. Offering the physical knowledge he had. Giving Knights, Padawans, Masters all critiques about their lightsaber combat, it would be those training sessions and his boldness that garnered the attention of Jedi seeking a student.

5 years of training, 2 years of recovery. That was the price to pay for the opportunity to learn. Oddly enough, he wasn't looking for someone to teach him and when he was given the offer, he initially declined. Though he had declined and was under no obligation, he still continued to carry out his time around the training grounds; well it was only a couple of months until he reconsidered, he wanted to get out of the grounds and out in the planets. That was his motivation.

8 years of padawan. During which he was expose to a variety of things. Old ancient Jedi relics, old Jedi texts, diplomatic negotiation, conflict resolution, menial chores, starvation, exploration, survival. Many things would encompass his life, which would benefit him for without an active war, he could focus on the broader aspects of the Jedi. This time allowed him to see what a Jedi could be, but the problem he'd face - he was still a kid and a youth. He craved that adventure and despite all efforts, his Master couldn't clear him of his old drives.

Was that a downfall? Perhaps. But in the end, his master saw the talent and the potential and despite the constant lectures, he felt his learner could benefit from being more independent as a firm base had been established. Because of this, he was recommended for promotion.

Now 30, his life as a Jedi has truly begun. The lightsaber he carries today was crafted upon his rise to Knight.

Physical Appearance

Ovinci is a Miralan who has a larger than average physique. A warrior at the heart with a passion to defend the just. His height is a standard 6 foot even, with a weight of roughly 200 lbs, plenty of the weight is in muscle mass alone. Ovinci has a common green tinge to his skin, with brown hair with blue eyes. His face carries the common characteristic of his people, that being the geometric shapes tattooed on; each marking something significant in his life. A pattern of 5 are arranged like an arrow on either side of his face, under his eyes, with 6 additional diamonds on his chin arranged to form an arrow pointing downward, finally 4 rest between his eyebrows. ((Per picture, ignore the ones across his nose, they'll be added as he grows.)) Like humans, his ears are not misshapen.

Ovinci usually has his lightsaber hilt clipped to his left hip. He wears a beige robe with slightly larger shoulders, designed with a slightly elaborate yellow and blue pattern running down his arm stopping at the elbows. He often does not wear gloves. The robes typically cover his body but when his legs are uncovered, he is seen wearing a simple brown pant, completed with larger boots.

His skin is typically clear and his hair medium length and is slightly styled in a lazy effort for a fauxhawk. He has no facial hair except his eyebrows.

Ovinci's voice is youthful, if not smooth.
